Worst Reception Experience Ever – Avoid This Hotel if You Value Basic Courtesy

I have written many reviews on Booking, but this is by far the worst one I have ever had to write. Let me be clear: the hotel itself and its location are fine, but one particular receptionist completely ruined our stay. From the moment we arrived, her attitude was shockingly unfriendly and unwelcoming. We were traveling as a family (two adults and two small children) and had booked two rooms because there were no apartments available. Despite clearly seeing that we had young kids, she deliberately assigned us rooms that were a mile apart. I tried to be understanding, thinking maybe there was no availability. However, the room she gave me and my son was clearly meant for disabled guests and reeked terribly of mold. I raised this issue politely, and all she did was say she would “check it,” but of course, she did absolutely nothing. I eventually had to ask to speak with the manager, who fortunately was professional and managed to move us to a more suitable room. What shocked me the most was her attitude when I told her that I would be forced to write a negative review. Instead of showing any concern, she actually threatened to take away my parking space and make me move to another one—completely unprofessional and vindictive behavior. I have never encountered such hostility from hotel staff in my life. It genuinely felt like she was going out of her way to make our stay as unpleasant as possible. I cannot understand how management allows someone with such a toxic attitude to work at the reception desk. To the manager: you should seriously reconsider who you hire to represent your hotel. One bad employee can destroy the entire experience for your guests. Until this issue is addressed, I cannot recommend Hotel Rosa to families or anyone who values basic respect and hospitality.

This beautiful hotel Rosa was very clean, rooms are spacious, nice balcony. Plenty space for clothes. We didn’t have breakfast but looked very nice. Location was perfect

Several staff were incapable of helping with the simple request to swap our parking space, so that we could use the on-site EV charger. Make sure to book one of the parking slots 9-12 if you intend to use EV charging.

big family room with separate area for our child.

First, we were so cold we had to sleep with our clothes on! pretty much like in a tent. Apparently the Italian government bans use of heaters after some date in April which we had passed. Except it was 9 degrees outside. The front desk offered a discount but we would have preferred to be warm! Also, between reception and family rooms there are 3 flights of stairs at various points with no elevators, not mentioned in the description. This not for the elderly and surely not for lots of luggage. The lady at reception had to come with us to help us up. Finally, the room did not mention on Booking what view it had and we discovered we had a view over the trash cans! On the bed there was a nice personalized card from the manager (nice gesture otherwise) that said welcome to our hotel with a view on the Lake Maggiore. What a twist of irony. We will certainly not return.

Considering location, it’s good value for money.

Xtra clean and pretty large room compare to what can be found around the Lago Maggiore. Balcony for each room or so.

Location offers no view at all, just on buildings. if you want to see the lake, go somewhere else. Breakfast could be better with more bead and yogurt variety. no cereals either.

we had a vent in the toilet that made lot of noise even when you close the electricity to that room. was handled by the team through closing all electricity temporarily and allowing us to go to sleep.

1. The balcony in the room was very private. 2. It was possible to rent a Vespa in the hotel. 3. The beds were spacious and very clean. 4. Very close to the lake and several restaurants.

Staying at hotel Rosa was great!! Place was very neat and clean, bed were super comfy, breakfast was excellent. Very close to the center of Baveno near restaurants, gellaterias and off course the esplanade. Definitely recommend!

More of a 3 star hotel

Clean and comfortable rooms. Good location.

That extra you expect from 4 star hotel was missing. Only tee in Room, no instant coffee. No extra pillows. If you wanted something from the bar, you had to wait for the receptionist to serve or to call someone to serve you. Once we ordered some drinks we felt like we were some kind of inconvience to the woman in the reception. This also was the case with other staff. They kind of were avoiding you and did not make contact.

Disappointing and pictures does not match reality! but good breakfast

The pictures of a superior room showed a balcony with a beautiful view and the discription said “town view”. But in reality, it was right into a wall. Very disappointing :( Staff in generel were very nice, but the woman at the desk were quite rude and had an super unfriendly attitude.

Everything was very good, we enjoyed our stay.

In one out of 3 rooms, air conditioner didn't operate well. It took 4 days to the hotel staff to find a way of temporary solution - how to operate problematic air conditioner. Problems happen... but how the problem resolved is very important part of service approach.

the wifi never works, the staff are not helpful: i need a taxi to go to the airport they lied to me and said no taxis are available in town and that all of them are booked, i just checked online and called a taxi and surprisingly found many, they were too lazy to bother getting a taxi for a guest who was going to miss his flight! not to mention that the cleaner wanted me to get out of my room at 11.00 while i needed time to get ready for a wedding and said she cant come back later. last but not least, there is no reception after 10.00Pm meaning and you need your card to get inn - meaning if you come back later and ur card does not work, you just spend the night on the street. never again in this property!
