Clean and convenient, good breakfast, but overall nothing special.

It was conveniently located. The bed was comfortable. They included breakfast was good. There was a kettle and tea in the room and a small package of biscuits.

It was awkward to find staff when we wanted to check in. He was sleeping in the front room. The bathroom door a sliding door, was pretty wobbly. Overall, the place was clean. The staff was mostly attentive, especially with having vegetarian options for breakfast upon request. General appearance was clean but somewhat shabby.

A very warm welcome and a great location. Room was a good size and water was very hot.

Beds weren't comfy, drawers in the furniture needed cleaning out, breakfast was terrible with a very long wait and food that wasn't worth waiting for.

Lovely place, we would stay again.

We had an issue with the car, and didn’t arrive until after 8pm. Our host was extremely understanding and helpful, and she gave us a room on a lower floor. The room was clean and spacious, with a comfy bed and bedside lamps with USB ports in the base -ingenious! The en suite bathroom had everything we needed, the small radiator keeping the temperature perfect and the towels cosy. The breakfast was amazing. We would stay again.

The only issue we had, we are not small and struggled getting into the shower, with the corner opening on the shower screen. That was our fault for being on the large side though.

Perfect spot for a stopover or to explore the region.

The guesthouse is very close to the town centre yet in a calm neighborhood.Amanda is a lovely host, attentive and a good communicator. I loved the high ceilings, the crisp white decorations and especially the view of the game of bowls across the street!

Great stopover

Lovely warm welcome from Amanda, and the guest house was just a short stroll from the station. Pleasant, quiet, clean room and an excellent night's sleep. Magnificent breakfast, and Amanda let us breakfast a bit early so we could catch the ferry. A great stopover.

The en suite bathroom was quite small and the shower was tricky to use (unpredictable hot water flow). Nice big pot of tea at breakfast but not the strongest :-)

Very comfortable and handy for town centre

The bedroom we were allocated was very spacious and comfortable and the property was very convenient for walking into the town centre. The parking on site was very convenient and we received a very warm welcome when we arrived.

The breakfast was fine but it was served in a very dispiriting room with no windows and very basic furniture.

Location was great and size of room was good, we looked out over the local bowls green which is far better than looking over neighbouring rooftops.

Poor cleanliness, would not return

The man who checked me in was very pleasant. Good Parking and easy walk to town centre.

The room was tired, which isnt usually an issue for me as I like a more retro experience, but the room had a weird smell which i discovered was the curtains, which clearly havent been cleaned for some time. Most importantly the bedding had long hairs (i am bald) and the cup and saucer in the bedroom was filthy. Such was my concern, that i didnt stay for breakfast as i wasnt confident in the general cleaniness of the guest house. Whilst the room was good value, a travelodge offers the same price point with better standards of cleaning and hygiene, so I wouldnt stay again.

Lovely peaceful place to stay in Dumfries

Lovely stay at the Aberdour. Amanda was amazing and her breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Room was bright and clean. Great that is was dog friendly too. Definitely recommend.

Fantastic location, comfortable stay.

The location was ideal as it was halfway between the train station and the town center which both were easy to get to and a short distance away. The twin bed room I stayed in was comfortable and nicely decorated. Breakfast options where variable and the host was more than willing to meet dietary requirements.

Could hardly fault the place. Only thing I would ask for is a mat in the shower to prevent slipping.

The rooms are basic but clean and the woman at reception was friendly and helpful. It's a basic, functional place that serves the purpose and gets the job done for a very reasonable price. There is also free parking located directly in front of the property. The location is walking distance to the centre of town which is also nice.
