A comfortable stay with a good breakfast.

Friendly owner, good location and lovely breakfast. Room clean.

Some of the decoration in the bedroom a little bit dated but it did not spoil my stay.

Very convenient Bed and Breakfast close to Dumfries station with friendly staff.

The room with ensuite bathroom was very good and the bed comfy. The cooked vegetarian breakfast was delicious.

A gem in Dumfries

I adored staying at Ferintosh Guest House! It was in a convenient location, safe and had all the necessities I needed. The breakfasts were just lovely (I’m still missing them!) and the room itself provided a quiet location to rest my head and relax after a day out exploring. The shower had piping hot water and great pressure, and the tea and coffee options in the room meant I always had a hot drink at hand. Closet and drawer space were ample and the room had plenty of hooks and hangers for my things. I loved sitting in the armchair in the room to read at night, and appreciated having a full length mirror! Robertson makes everything easy for your stay, he is a wonderful communicated and considerate in what is made available for your stay. It’s so refreshing from staying at other places that take days to respond back (If they do at all!). Staying at Ferintosh was one of the highlights of my trip, and I have nothing but thanks and gratitude for Robertson for providing such a wonderful stay. (And many lovely chats!) I will absolutely be back and can only sing praises for this property. You can book with confidence when you book at Ferintosh Guest House. 10/10

Excellent location for train station and buses. Price very reasonable well worth it. Warm friendly welcome 🤗😁, room and bathroom spotless everything in room you would need for a stay, nice touch was a bottle opener and cork screw and radio alarm clock. Bed comfortable and bathroom had plenty toiletries . Great choice on breakfast menu also vegetarian options.

Exactly what we were looking for.

We had a good breakfast with vegetarian and vegan options. The room was comfortable and bigger than we expected. We both slept well in the comfy beds. The shower was easy to operate and everything was clean. Location was excellent for the activities we had planned and just opposite the station. Our host, Robertson, was very welcoming.

Breakfast was amazing, hot fresh and beautifully presented. Room was gorgeous, bed lovely and comfortable, bathroom lovely with a fab shower, the whole house was warm and welcoming (doggie cuddles were a bonus). We were really made to feel at home. Location is great with the town within easy walking distance and parking virtually on the doorstep. This is by far the best place to stay in Dumfries.

This is a lovely house and we had a very comfortable stay. The host, Robertson, made us feel very welcome and everything was very good, including the delicious breakfast. The property is perfectly situated for traveling by train and walking the short distance into the town centre.

Sweet and charming Victorian

We arrived by train, and realized Ferintosh is directly across the road from the station, in a row of stately Victorian red sandstone elegant homes. Such a joy! Our host Robertson was waiting for us, answering the door and chatting amiably with us in the lovely entry hall. He carried our luggage up the stairs, and we settled in our cozy room. Town is an easy 10 minute walk, and has all the medieval- to- Victorian architectural charm we hoped for, plus two old bridges over the River Nith. Must not forget all the Robert Burns sites, the wonderful museum in a former windmill, junk shops, chip shops, stairs and river walk. Lovely town Breakfast is cooked and served by "himself" and is very good. Robertson has a generous supply of information and maps, plus dog treats and towels, and brownies to borrow. We sat in the front garden after a full day, drinking tea. Completely satisfying.

Beautiful old building, lovely garden area at the front of the house. Fabulous host Robertson was very helpful and knowledgeable about the history of the area. He cooks a delicious breakfast and goes the extra mile to make you feel welcome. Older style property with lots of little touches to make you feel at home.
