The staff were incredible. As soon as you walked through the door, you felt welcome. My room was very spacious and had everything you needed. They have a book on the history of The Douglas Hotel, and is a great look through. I had food in the bar which was great, with the best view. You have to go for the fish & chips when you stay on the coast, and it didn’t disappoint. The full Scottish in the morning in the restaurant was top drawer tasty, and I’ll definitely have dinner in there next time as it’s a beautiful space. All in all, a fantastic stay, location, decor, food, the room plus the outstanding service from all the staff from reception to the waiters. Such a great experience that I’ll definitely be revisiting

The Douglas Hotel is a classy, welcoming and extremely comfortable property to stay in. The bar and restaurant areas are great to relax in whilst all the staff are friendly and attentive. The room was a great size with super comfortable bed. The number of rooms available means the hotel never feels full and is the perfect base for an island escape.

Excellent position, friendly staff , fantastic room with view of Goatfell and the harbour, clean and comfortable.
