Great Staff, absolutely not worth the price.

Cannot fault the staff. Everyone in the hotel was extremely friendly and helpful.

Almost £500 for a two night stay was completely let down by the tired looking Spa facilities and a plastic p-shaped bath with handheld shower in our room. I requested a room with a bath and was so disappointed to find the cheapest, plastic bath that belongs nowhere near a five star hotel. It really cheapened the experience. The Leisure suite(pool, sauna/steam room) are so tired and antiquated - it felt like using a local council facility. For the price we paid we probably wouldn't return.

Lovely last minute night away treat for me and my daughter. We were made to feel very welcome.

Staff were so attentive, nothing was a problem. Bedroom was warm and a good size. Bed was super comfy, lovely bouncy duvet and pillows. Evening meal was beautiful. Great swimming pool and jacuzzi. Can't comment on the sauna or steam room. Spacious dressing room. Overall decor of the hotel was very elegant.

Only one size of dressing gowns available, I had my 8 year old daughter with me and it would have been nice if she could have had dressing gown and slippers too. My evening meal was charged to the room, I signed the reciept and added 15% gratuity, but at check out i realised they had already applied a service charge.

A great Seaview from the room we had. The entire hotel is just fantastic, great décor throughout and the best staff I have ever come across, they were friendly and very efficient. The breakfast was simply superb.

Although the bathroom was really nice, it was just a little small.

Hotel was comfortable but lacking experienced staff

Went therel last year for the wife’s retirement and birthday everything was great this time I felt the hotel had lost its appeal the upgrade for the room I felt was poor we missed the sea view wasn’t keen looking out window pigeons looked like they were nesting in roof panels the view was very poor .

Reception were ment to book restaurant for Saturday 7pm when I checked with the restaurant they had not received notification when I explained it was my wife’s birthday they fitted us in . The food choice in the main restaurant was limited to choice not the same as last year . I felt the young staff were not very confident in their service and when I asked for mushrooms no one came back to notify us they weren’t available . We also had to ask to get a drink service which I felt they should have asked us when we sat down

Relaxing and very enjoyable stay.

Fantastic staff throughout the hotel. Excellent food with choice of two good eating places. Many coastal walks and spoilt for choice with golf courses in the area.

Lots of positives but two big negatives unfortunately.

Great location and staff were pleasant and helpful.

We were informed on arrival that the main restaurant wasn’t open. We were told that we could get hot food in the lounge area instead. Very disappointing as we wanted to experience the fancy menu in the actual restaurant. My meal, steak pie , was lovely but my husband’s roast beef was ridiculously tough and the Yorkshire pudding burnt. We did complain and in fairness the cost was discounted and two free drinks were offered. Still not ideal. We stayed in a lovely deluxe suite as it was my husband’s birthday treat but had a very disturbed sleep due to an electrical noise that came from the fridge, I assume, on and off all night.

Beautiful rooms, the suites were fantastic. Great staff, always a warm welcome at reception! The Seal is just such a great place to hang out, so comfy, great food and drinks.

Most relaxed and enjoyable traditional Scottish hotel and spa

This is a quality Scottish Hotel, one you can count on for first rate service - eg porter to tote luggage up to room (we were in 314). Good dinner and attentive service in Rabbit Restaurant. Nothing wrong either with the more relaxed meal service in the Seal Lounge Bar: best steak pie I've had for a very long time! Even the Gents lavatory is a cut above the usual these days, with individual cotton towels rather than the ghastly ubiquitous hot-air hand dryer. We stayed for three nights and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Just a comment about breakfasts: very good menu and service, but the little round tables are too small for a couple to comfortably share. And it's a shame the breakfast tea can't be served in a decent size teapot with an additional pot of hot water on the side, as in days of yesteryear, thus offering glorious autonomy to punters who much enjoy the Scottish breakfast without seeing it spoiled by chasing up the waitress for peely-wally tea top-ups. And a final thing that might be looked into - queues and overly long waiting times at Sunday morning check outs ...

All the food was fabulous, breakfast was amazing. Staff were very friendly, efficient and curteous and nothing was too much trouble.

We had chosen the hotel based on previous visits as and as I was celebrating my birthday we decided to choose the best room available. We extremely disappointed to find the spa complex was closed for renovations as we’d chosen this hotel specifically to go swimming. Also found the hotel restaurant wasn’t open on Monday evening due to low demand. Food was served in the bar but the restaurant had a better menu and ambience. Whilst we understood the reason it was closed, like the swimming pool it would have been really helpful to know at the time of booking. In the end we decided to eat out at another restaurant but would have preferred not to have to.

Great weather, which is always a bonus, my golf game a bit mixed but Europe won the Ryder Cup :)

Location, facilities and pleasant staff, especially barperson Matthew who was very attentive.

Only downside was the shower over bath, the bath was really to small if you wanted a bath and the shower arrangement resulted in a lot a water ending up on the bathroom floor. Same feedback for all 4 guests in my party. We booked deluxe single rooms but next time I would book a larger room or request a room with walk-in shower instead of bath. Otherwise rooms were very comfortable with all the amenities you would expect.
