Great little find.

Great little find. Convenient location near to plenty of food outlets as no evening meals provided. Room very warm and comfortable. Staff were extremely courteous and helpful and went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. Great breakfast too.

Excellent hotel for exploring Oxford .

Great location for exploring Oxford with a bus stop within a step or two of the hotel. Our room was very comfortable and the bathroom spacious with lovely towels. Good selection for breakfast, catering for all. The hotel accommodated our needs allowing us to leave the car in the car park until 3 pm the next day . Thank you !

Great find

Fresh decor. Staff good. Not in your face but always around when you needed them. Helpful. Breakfast was quite good.

Squeaky bathroom door. Thin bedding barely covered you. Traffic noise at the front of the hotel. Our room was double aspect, so this may be why. Our friends didn't have this issue further back in the hotel.

Very well presented hotel but a few small issues.

Staff - a lovely lad on reception.

Someone previous had made coffee in the kettle in the room, we had to clean it out. Nearly run out of toilet paper in dispenser during the night- had to be frugal.

Having stayed at the Remont many times over the last 10 years there are somethings about this hotel that I really like. Plus it has a great association with many happy times spent in Oxford. The rooms are comfortable, the feel of the hotel is of a very good quality German hotel.

Unfortunately, this stay was disappointing. The electricity in our room (23) failed during the night — the bathroom light, bedside lamp, and sockets stopped working after 1am and were still off in the morning. We later learned this was the second time that week the same issue had occurred in that room. Breakfast was also poor: the cornflakes were stale, and the milk was off (confirmed by my wife and two other guests - I have anosmia). Having stayed here many times before, this experience fell well below the standard we’ve come to expect.

Dirty room and unresponsive staff — far from a 4-star experience

Breakfast was ok.

The room was not clean upon arrival — especially the toilet, which had visible dirt that had clearly been there for days (see photos). There were also several spider webs around the room. On top of that, the bathroom extractor fan was faulty, making a loud, constant brrrr brrrr noise whenever the light was on. When I went to reception with proof and asked for it to be fixed, the staff said housekeeping could clean it but the engineer couldn’t come that day. I asked to be moved to another room, but they said there were none available. I then asked to speak with the manager, but was told she wasn’t there — they’d call her and update us. They never did. In theory, someone came to “clean,” but the room looked the same afterwards. The extractor stopped making noise for the first ten minutes and then went back to the same brrrr brrrr sound every time the light was on. The next morning, no one followed up, and when we checked out, the receptionist had no idea about any of this. They took my details and promised the manager would contact me — over a week later, still nothing. For a hotel that advertises itself as four stars, the lack of cleanliness, maintenance, and basic accountability is unacceptable.

Comfortable stay for solo visitor.

The hotel is clean and the room was comfortable and had all I needed for a one night stay. The staff were pleasant and welcoming and there was a good choice of items for breakfast, which was included at a good price for all the facilities.

Parking was a little tight as the car park was almost full when I returned to the hotel after an evening out but with some manoeuvring I managed to get parked.

Location is pretty good, short bus trip to city centre. Nice breakfast and pleasant staff, room was clean.

Weak water stream in the shower, bed mattress seems to need replacement, the hotel is rated 4 stars but the facilities are not 4 stars which was disappointing. 3 stars more fitting.

Not a good option

The room size

Our room was in the building next to the reception. The hallway smelled bad, like food. There were dishes on the hallway floor. They should clear them away and open the doors to air them out. The shower screen had stains from other people who had been there before, and the curtains on the windows were torn.

Thoroughly recommend staying here

I think it is family run. The gentleman at the reception desk was extremely helpful, explained in detail how to get to my conference. Breakfast is in a lovely room, overlooking the garden. Weather was very hot, had access to the garden. Room was in a quiet part of the hotel, as requested. Room facilities included coffee making and biscuits,as well as shower toiletries. Breakfast was excellent - customer focused service, a selection of hot and cold food. Would thoroughly recommend.

Disappointing

The staff were extremely polite and as helpful as they could be. The help of the desk clerk's help was tempered by language difficulties. The dining area was bright and our room was small but adequate with access to a nice outside courtyard.

On arrival, the Desk Clerk had difficulty with very slow computer software. Having checked in, there was a total lack of milk and tea in our room*. This was not corrected until the following day. Daily room maintanence/service was almost non-existant which the Desk Clerck put down to language difficulties with the chamber maid. Breakfast although plentifull was over cooked on both mornings. The single chair in our room had a distorted/weakened leg. The bathroom was not clean there being thick dust on some fittings and lime scale on others - also lime scale on the tiled floor. The toilet bowl was stained. The bathroom extractor fan was not working*. To generalise, our stay was spoilt by poor housing keeping, * indicates staff informed (no attempt to sort out fan)

The property, service, location and food satisfied all my needs and then some

The property and location was everything I needed and expected. Additionally, the English breakfast buffet was even better quality than I expected. Outstanding!

My room was very warm even with the fan on given there is no air conditioning and England was experiencing extremely hot temps.
