Good value for money. The hotel is a bit dated but at this price, it’s very fair and the staff made rhetorical efforts to help. Bed is very comfortable. Good value for money, high recommended.

I let them know that I wouldn't be arriving until 3am as I travelled from up north and drive took 7 hours due to lane closures. The staff member let me in and I'd clearly woke him up, bless him. I would stay again :-)

We liked: car parking facility, spacious room, easy chair in room, good breakfast included, garden, heating and friendly, helpful staff.

Two lights did not work. We swapped the bulb, but it wasn't the bulb - a malfunction of the light. We only stayed 2 nights, so wasn't worth mentioning.

A pleasant small hotel well located on the Banbury Road

Room was a good size for an overnight stay. It was pleasantly decorated and the bed was comfortable. A good buffet style breakfast was served in a pleasant, bright dining area with calming music. Free on site parking was a bonus.

A few minor aspects such as ensuring that the loo paper dispensers in en suite bathroom and communal WC near dining room are full. To make clear at breakfast that a choice of coffee was available eg expresso, cappuccino etc. To provide more interesting types of sliced bread for toasting eg granary.

We enjoyed our stay and will definitely return if we visit Oxford again.

The Remont is situated perfectly for getting into Oxford City centre, with frequent buses. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and the buffet breakfast was well stocked.

In places the room and ensuite could benefit from a little TLC, but that was only cosmetic, it didn't detract from the overall experience of the hotel.

Great little find. Convenient location near to plenty of food outlets as no evening meals provided. Room very warm and comfortable. Staff were extremely courteous and helpful and went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. Great breakfast too.

Great location for exploring Oxford with a bus stop within a step or two of the hotel. Our room was very comfortable and the bathroom spacious with lovely towels. Good selection for breakfast, catering for all. The hotel accommodated our needs allowing us to leave the car in the car park until 3 pm the next day . Thank you !

Fresh decor. Staff good. Not in your face but always around when you needed them. Helpful. Breakfast was quite good.

Squeaky bathroom door. Thin bedding barely covered you. Traffic noise at the front of the hotel. Our room was double aspect, so this may be why. Our friends didn't have this issue further back in the hotel.

Someone previous had made coffee in the kettle in the room, we had to clean it out. Nearly run out of toilet paper in dispenser during the night- had to be frugal.

Having stayed at the Remont many times over the last 10 years there are somethings about this hotel that I really like. Plus it has a great association with many happy times spent in Oxford. The rooms are comfortable, the feel of the hotel is of a very good quality German hotel.

Unfortunately, this stay was disappointing. The electricity in our room (23) failed during the night — the bathroom light, bedside lamp, and sockets stopped working after 1am and were still off in the morning. We later learned this was the second time that week the same issue had occurred in that room. Breakfast was also poor: the cornflakes were stale, and the milk was off (confirmed by my wife and two other guests - I have anosmia). Having stayed here many times before, this experience fell well below the standard we’ve come to expect.

Dirty room and unresponsive staff — far from a 4-star experience

Breakfast was ok.

The room was not clean upon arrival — especially the toilet, which had visible dirt that had clearly been there for days (see photos). There were also several spider webs around the room. On top of that, the bathroom extractor fan was faulty, making a loud, constant brrrr brrrr noise whenever the light was on. When I went to reception with proof and asked for it to be fixed, the staff said housekeeping could clean it but the engineer couldn’t come that day. I asked to be moved to another room, but they said there were none available. I then asked to speak with the manager, but was told she wasn’t there — they’d call her and update us. They never did. In theory, someone came to “clean,” but the room looked the same afterwards. The extractor stopped making noise for the first ten minutes and then went back to the same brrrr brrrr sound every time the light was on. The next morning, no one followed up, and when we checked out, the receptionist had no idea about any of this. They took my details and promised the manager would contact me — over a week later, still nothing. For a hotel that advertises itself as four stars, the lack of cleanliness, maintenance, and basic accountability is unacceptable.

Comfortable stay for solo visitor.

The hotel is clean and the room was comfortable and had all I needed for a one night stay. The staff were pleasant and welcoming and there was a good choice of items for breakfast, which was included at a good price for all the facilities.

Parking was a little tight as the car park was almost full when I returned to the hotel after an evening out but with some manoeuvring I managed to get parked.
