Perfect place

The hotel is in a great location for those seeking peace and quiet. The staff are friendly and very helpful.

Pleasant stay, slightly over priced

The location was perfect in that I did not want to be in the city centre and wanted access to water in the summer heat! It was fascinating to watch the rowing teams train; but be warned they start very early and you can hear them training. You can run around the rowing canal which makes for a pleasant jog in tranquil surroundings. Room had air conditioning and was clean and adequate.

The staff spoke some English but were often not present at the reception. If you asked for something it seemed more of a chore rather than them be happy to help; perhaps that was just my perception! The pool was nice but very full from local people; it was not so much a hotel pool but more a private pool that was open to the public. There was not enough parking once the pool got busy because of all of teh locals needing somewhere to park.

Lovely setting with a nice pool and close to the fabulous Plovdiv rowing channel and park. Walkable into old town. Very friendly and helpful receptionist. Plusses outweigh the minuses.😊

Haphazard breakfast times. No room cleaning or mini bar replenishment of bottled water. No hot water on our third morning.

Disaster.

The location is perfect. The room was big.

It was dirty in the bathroom and the room as well. There had dead insects and ants walking around. They didn’t clean the room for all three days, the rubbish bin too. The restaurant…they confirm reservation for dinner and when we went at 20:00pm it was closed and that was every evening. So disappointing.

Peaceful, relaxing week in beautiful Plovdiv

Located near to Southern edge of Plovdiv, Ostrova sits in woodland on the edge of the rowing lake and backed by the Maritsa river, so leisurely walks after meals and in the evenings were a daily treat. Reception staff spoke good English and could not do enough to help during our stay. Room was very spacious, and balcony had lovely view over the lake. Spa was only 10 leva a session and was another relaxing indulgence every couple of days. Restaurant was excellent; with breakfast have 4 options daily to choose from with every one being huge portions. We ate there with family a few evenings during our stay, and the food was consistently first class and very reasonably priced. All in all, a lovely stay in Plovdiv in a quiet, peaceful location, with great staff and fabulous food.

Location was out of town so needed taxis to get into Plovdiv centre to explore, but at only 10 leva a journey it was not expensive. Bathroom was small and shower had a panel missing so the floor got very wet, which made things difficult for my 82 year old father with his mobility issues. A rubber bathmat from my sister-in-law quickly improved the situation, so would maybe be a good option in all bathrooms.

Comfortable and welcoming

The suite was spacious, clean and comfortable, with a cot already set up for the baby. It was perfect for traveling with children as we had plenty of space and could sit on the balcony or other end of the room when they were asleep. The staff were all very friendly, restaurant good, with a selection of local and international foods, parking easy and swimming pool was quiet and beautiful! As was the location - close to the centre of Plovdiv, but quiet and surrounded by trees. It's also next to a rowing canal, which makes a nice place to walk (feels safe, even at night). We had a really positive experience.

If the weather is bad they don't open the pool, which was a concern, but in the end it wasn't a problem - it was open the whole time that we were there.

The rooms were modern and comfortable. With the windows closed the noise level was pretty low despite the nearby rock concert. The staff were friendly and always ready to help.

They were letting people not staying in the hotel use the pool, which meant it was overcrowded and there wasn't a comfortable space for the guests.
