The always-smiling hotel staff made us feel genuinely welcome from the moment we arrived.

We had a great stay at Hotel Elena in Veliko Tarnovo. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming — truly one of the highlights of our visit. We arrived late in the evening, and although the restaurant was about to close, they still made us a pizza, which was a very kind gesture. There’s a nice little terrace to relax on, à la carte breakfast in the morning, and smiles all around from the team throughout our stay. There’s also a convenient parking lot right across from the building, and the hotel is within walking distance to the city center. Highly recommended!

Good location, excelent breakfast but they need to work on getting rid of cockroaches.

The biggest issue with both rooms I got was they were 'hosting' cockroaches.

Comfortable stay overall

Very comfortable and clean. The room was spacious, with a nice terrace as well. Breakfast was pretty decent, and there are lots of parking spaces around. Very calm area at night, and the staff was overall friendly. Good value for money.

It's a bit far from the center (around 30 mins walking). It is very easy to jump from one room to another through the terrace, which made us feel a bit uncomfortable, even more since the terrace door didn't close properly. A/C was a bit noisy.

Shabby outdated place. Not always very pleasant odors, although mostly clean on the surfaces. Surely it was a great place for 30 years ago!

The hotel room was clean with good WiFi. Good coffee at the breakfast. Hotel staff was helpful.

The single bed in the triple room is uncomfortable, couldn’t get a decent sleep. Breakfast it’s a bad joke, I can’t see how some people find that amazing. How can three mini slices of ham means amazing breakfast? An egg won’t break the budget. Besides the beverages, breakfast it’s not a pleasant experience. I’m aware of the fact that this is more like a transit hotel, but some things could be better done.

The restaurant could not offer everything on the menu. Only appetizers and salads. Probably because the own pizzeria, located on the ground floor, did not work. They did not accept payment by card, only CASH. When you are in a business trip, this is not very ok.

Excellent place to visit Veliko Tarnovo

The hotel is excellent. We were greeted by a friendly manager who helped us with checking-in. The same person is managing also the restaurant on the ground floor. The food and drinks are very good and served quickly. The breakfast is in the same restaurant - not Swedish Table but still very nicely cooked, offered in several varieties and the amount is plentiful.

The place is just fine and very well situated. nothing to dislike.

good value room, convinient hotel cafe

The hotel is in the new city, with its own cafe and bar. The hostess does not speak much English, but the waitress for the bar can translate. The room is clean.

It is a bit far to walk from the hotel to the old city and fortress. You need to drive your own car or use taxi. The room was hot during a summer day early in the morning. You need to turn on the air conditioning at 6 or 7 in the morning.
