Beautiful in every single way. The hosts were wonderful and even though we speak almost no French, they were super lovely , upgraded our room and made us feel so completely welcome. This is an 18th century hunting lodge with beautiful lounges to relax in overlooking sweeping parkland with stag and deer roaming about. Our dog LOVED it here! Beds super comfortable and the rooms included tea / coffee making facilities. It was so utterly peaceful. Thank you for a wonderful stay. Apologies to the hosts as we left without saying thank you and goodbye but we couldnt find you (unsurprising as the place is huge!)

We had stayed there before - a number of times - and were greeted so warmly by the Marquis and his wife - a genuine welcome, almost as old friends. We were the only guests that night - it was a Thursday visit. Delightful room as always - overlooking the grounds, Supper outside - traditional tasty French dishes and wine - excellent. Breakfast had a 'widish' range of usual French breads, cheeses, confiture and fruits - all with English teas - our choice. Do visit, its exceptional.

Would have liked a longer stay but our schedule would not permit it.

A great way to finish a long drive and a short drive to the port the day after

The proprietors were welcoming charming and accommodating. The chateau is a family home and we delighted in the warmth of our hosts and beautiful calm surroundings. We saw deer and enjoyed a sumptuous dinner on the terrace. The food was excellent, as was the wine. A stay to be repeated!

It would have been exceptional if we did not have a dog.

The style and quality of everything: the furniture, decor, cutlery and condiments were such quality. The grounds were stunning and the best we have experienced for our dog Our host saved our lives by providing us with the chance to recharge our car.

We have been travelling with our dog on European road trips since 2017. This was only the second time our dog was not welcomed. We arrived at 20:30 in pouring rain. For some reason our host felt certain our dog would be barking through the night and if left alone in the room would scratch the beautiful doors. He seemed not to accept our assurances that Jasper would be very well behaved and said if he did bark through the night he would need to sleep in our car. Guess what! Jasper was perfect as always but his attitude soured our stay and made us feel very good uncomfortable.

Wonderful welcome

Warm hosts who welcomed us into their home. Beautiful room and great view of the grounds. Delicious 5-course meal prepared by the owners and served in their family dining room. Felt very special. We were delighted to see a stag in the grounds during our stay.

There was nothing we disliked. We had the largest guest room - one of the other guests was in the smallest room and said it was a little more confined. There is no TV, but this was not an issue for us.

Lovely property but expensive dinner

Lovely old French chateau, nicely furnished. As we were the only guests, we were upgraded to the largest room.

We requested an evening meal for 2, without asking the price. The 4 course meal was OK but not brilliant and included a gin and tonic and half a bottle of wine, but was shocked at the €114 bill.

We were very comfortable and made very welcome here.

A lovely welcoming atmosphere meant we felt very comfortable and well looked after. The owners made special arrangements for us because our dog was injured and could not manage stairs. We stayed in the converted stable block. It was quirky and interesting and the bed was exceptionally comfortable. The food was delicious and our breakfast just right.

Fabulous location and a great welcome and fresh breakfast

Thought we would be staying in the Chateau considering the price. The annexe was interesting, converted stables, but not what I had expected at the price. We opted to have dinner and was told it was 58 Euros and I asked if that was for 2 and was told yes but when I had to pay it was each so rather expensive especially as it was to all intents a cold meal.

We had a good stay - the house is very beautiful. We didn't realise we were booked in the annex which was a bit of a disappointment, however we were offered the chance to upgrade for a surcharge. Supper was simple but pleasant as was breakfast.

Overall we felt the price was on the high side for the quality of the experience.

De locatie, het gebouw en de inrichting ervan, de gastheer en gastvrouw. We werden bij aankomst trouwens opgewacht door 2 herten en een hinde die voor het kasteel stonden te grazen!

Prachtige locatie

De locatie was schitterend. Herten liepen 'savonds door het park. En de eigenaren waren vriendelijk en behulpzaam.

De badkamer en met name de wc op de kamer vonden we matig. De wc was zo klein dat de deur open moest blijven om er op te kunnen zitten. Er was wel een andere, grotere wc op de gang buiten de kamer. Het kingsize bed was prima. Verder vonden we het ontbijt minder royaal dan in de andere accomodaties waar we verbleven.
