ibis Alençon

The well-located hotel is affordable and delivers a straightforward hotel experience. At this price point, the room meets expectation. I arrive at midnight and the staff was very welcoming, and was very easy to work with when I called ahead to notify them. They help me reduce the stress of a late arrival.

The bathroom was functional but needs a visual improvement, with plumbing and surfacing needing an update. The selection of items for breakfast was good and the freshly baked croissants were nice. The only negative mark is the scrambled eggs which may have been from a package....they had an odd creamy texture.

Nothing in the room not even a kettle to make a drink after a four hour drive..

Everything - we were doing a long distance cycle and mostly camping so this was one of our few hotel stays. The staff were great and stored our bikes in the luggage store. Comfy bed and hot shower.

No kettle in room but I guess this is more unusual in France.

I really appreciated the hotel safely storing our bicycle.

Ibis is a bit cheap and inconsistent about coffee. Other hotels provide an electric kettle and instant coffee in the room. The Ibis in Gien had free coffee available in the lobby. Ibis in LaRochelle provided a free cup if guests didn’t take cleaning service. The Ibis in Nantes just told me to get a cup from the machine in the breakfast room. But in Alencon I got a very stern question about my room number when I got a cup of coffee in the breakfast room. Why make a cup of coffee such a big problem?!

Bed sheets were clean & freshly laundered. The room was quiet. Breakfast was good

Nothing, would never stay at this hotel again at over 100 Euros per night.

Where do I begin!. Here the list, in order of encounter. No secure parking, had to pay for street parking, no restaurant in hotel. Bar not open until 7pm!, Wi-fi very slow/weak. 3 Euros upgrade option to get to 7 or 8mps. Don't stay here if you have to work. Tiny "double" room - the smallest I have stayed at ever. Poor breakfast. All of the above negatives cost me £130 in total for the "experience", the night before I stayed at a 5-star hotel in Toledo Spain in a room 5 times the size and with all the facilities you would expect such as free/secure parking, fast internet, full cooked breakfast and my check-out bill was £68. I was not expecting a 5-star experience at the Ibis-Alencon but for sure I was not expecting the lack of facilities, tiny room, email-only capable wifi etc for £130. I don't usually write reviews and I am not a complaining type when travelling back to UK from Spain on my own with dog but there are certain basic requirements such as, at the very least, being able to have a beer at the hotel late afternoon on arrival after 7 or 8hr drive!

Lovely staff on reception and in the breakfast room. Parking right outside the door. Great location in the town centre. Dog friendly. Nice bar downstairs.
