Location location location. This Château is right in the centre of Alençon and has free secure parking. What more can I say? The renovation took 4 years and was finished 4 yrs ago. The amenities are superb. Since you ask, breakfast was excellent and it was one of the few properties of this sort we have stayed in which offered sliced bread and a toaster. The rooms were large but warm and the bed was very comfortable. The en suite bathroom was clean and modern. There is a lovely sitting room with large numbers of books and a piano in working order which is unusual nowadays. This was a good place to meet and get to know other guests which again is unusual. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

The piano needed tuning. I very much doubt if this would put anyone off staying here!!

Stephane was a fabulous host. He messaged us to see if we would like him to make a dinner reservation for us which we did and he chose a great restaurant only 5 minutes walk from his house. He was so welcoming when we arrived and we had an aperitif with him before we left for the restaurant. The room we had was beautifully designed and decorated and we all had a wonderful nights sleep as the house was very cosy and quiet. Breakfast was delicious with pastries, artisan bread, boiled eggs , charcuterie and cheeses and cereal . So much to choose from. They also had yoghurts and a great choice of jams . We really couldn't have asked for anything else.
