Historic building but disappointing stay.

The location was great. Despite being in the middle of things the room was quiet.

The staff were unfriendly and curt. We never felt welcome and always had to wait to be taken care of even when there was nobody else around.

Wonderful stay in the heart of Strasbourg

It was a first stay at Maison Kammerzell, only one night but what a delight! Our room was charming, impeccable, quiet and comfortable. The location is simply exceptional, close to this architectural wonder that is the Strasbourg Cathedral. What a pleasure to hear the bells and to admire that beauty at night. The service was excellent and very friendly. We had dinner with a dear friend at the restaurant and it was exceptional, choucroute au saumon with a picon bière! The next day, delicious breakfast with again a perfect friendly service. I highly recommend this place and I hope to have the pleasure to return.

We enjoyed the hotel’s location in historic Strasbourg

Excellent location.

We were traveling with another couple and had 2 rooms. In one guest room the air conditioner placement made it difficult to feel the air. In the second guest room the ac was properly placed and there was no problem.

A great experience, and we would come again

The location alongside the cathedral is superb and the Maison Kammerzell is full of character. Dining outside is excellent and the food is good.

Hotel rooms have not been looked after much. Carpet (worn and stained), chairs (worn cushions), bed sloping towards the head and very poor condition mattress, and bathroom fittings (moldy grouts, dysfunctional sink plugs, cracked sink) It wouldn't take much effort or budget to remedy the situation Sparse breakfast with mute staff, had to ask for Tea and Coffee, it wasn't offered Would not stay here again

The room was very small and under the roof, so being in summer it got quite warm throughout the day. AC was there but was a bit intermittent

Central location next to Citadel; staff were friendly

Room maintenance was poor - no bedside table, no cupboard door handles; broken shower (shower rose holder); lighting poor. Breakfast was worst we had in Europe over our 4 weeks stay

Location of hotel was excellent, staff were efficient and friendly.

Room was not very "user friendly" as in the gables, Bathroom although good size diffi8cult to negotiate due sloping ceilings. Breakfast very basic and only one cup of coffee offered.

Hotel in the beautiful, monumental Kammerzell House, one of the most famous and ornate buildings of Strasbourg, situated right on Place de la Cathédrale. Location, staff, building - it couldn't be better, but..

The place is basically a large (good!) brasserie style restaurant, with a few hotel rooms as a fringe activity. Hotel rooms once were stylishly furnished and decorated but have not been looked after much since. Carpet (worn and stained), chairs (worn cushions) and bathroom fittings (moldy grouts, dysfunctional sink plugs) do need attention. It wouldn't take much effort or budget to remedy the situation - pity that so far it hasn't been done!

Constant noise in bedroom throughout the night (pipes/air conditioning?) Breakfast offer not quite as advertised on website: no charcuterie nor cheese, just bread, jam, one danish, and coffee.

Breakfast was basic,staff rude. Heater made a racket ALL NIGHT. Complained and was shown to another room that was -10. Checked out a day early to another hotel.

location is super right in the cathedral area and next to shops, restaurants and christmas markets room was spacious, also bathroom, bed was comfy

hotel very outdated and looked rusty, also needs deep cleaning there is no really a reception as its within the restaurant, so the first night the heating wasnt enough and no one to ask to fix the problem.

Excellent location in a medieval building in the Cathedral Plaza with easy access to everywhere in the old town and the

this is an excellent location right at the center of the old town next to the cathedral so you can easily get around the old town, get to the train station in under 20 minutes walking and get to the Orangerie park within 30 to 35 minutes walking. It is perfectly positioned. With that said, it is like an old fashioned Inn with the emphasis placed on the restaurant although the rooms are very clean, comfortable and quiet. There was even a small air conditioner and a fan for when the heat wave hit Europe. there are beams splitting the room and the bathroom which add to the enjoyment of the hotel. But it is not a traditional hotel. You are not going to have someone at the front desk, but somebody who works in the restaurant taking care of you simultaneously. Not a problem for us but it might be a problem if you expect a Hotel

if you expect a normal hotel, you would be disappointed. However, we were only there one night and the room was spotless, there were teas and coffees and cookies along with the ability to make a hot drink, lots of necessities in the bathroom and an air conditioner so there really is nothing wrong with the hotel

Disappointing

Excellent location, with plenty of shops, restaurants and cafes.

A/C in the room did not work. It was extremely hot. Was not able to open the one window which was extremely small because it didn't have a screen and there were many pigeons and birds that could have easily flown in. A fan had to be brought in. The breakfast was not worth the money.
