Good size and good price

Property was in need of mass redecorating (paint chips, damp, damaged scurrying boards, loose power sockets, damaged/missing door handles, I could go on! So yes the property had plenty of signs of ware and tear, security was slightly concerning as the front door operated from a coded lock but the rest of the door didn’t latch properly nor did the back door lock other than a latch and outer door handle being disabled. Security cameras throughout the house also left for nerving stay as I consider this an invasion of privacy or suggests the type of ppl who usually rent the property clearly are dodgy and untrusting, parking was only possible down the main road due to the amount of cars and constant cars being parked outside of the property even blocking the small off road parking in front of the property. Value for money yes at this time of year condition less than impressive would I stay again….NO sorry but I’ve stayed in student houses in better condition

Fern Lodge had everything we needed and Graham responded to emails promptly. I was a little concerned after reading some reviews but I shouldn't have been, we had a lovely nights sleep, the property was clean and we enjoyed our family girlie weekend for my daughters 16th birthday.

Check in was smooth, the property very good looking and clean. There is a large kitchen with all facilities. The bedrooms are exellent.

Bedrooms are not totally cleaned, dust are everywhere and in duvets also you can see/feel the dust. Washer has bed linens and towels so we won't be able to use it. Towels smells rubbish, seems like its not totally washed and dried. Room 2 has boxer shorts at bedside, so annoyed when we saw it. The fridge has got loads of ice that we can't put any in it. Cleaner should have defrost it before we arrive.

Kitchen facilities awful and not serviceable. Pans rusty and scratched. Cooker not working properly! Food debris left in sink. No WiFi

The property lacked basic cleanliness, we had to clean the draining board in the kitchen before we could wash the dirty crockery from the cupboards (see photo). There was a dirty 1/2 filled glass in one of the bedrooms and rubbish left in the bins. The towels and bed linen appeared to be poor quality. Where possible we used our own. They also smelled musty. There were part used toiletries in the bathroom which, in my opinion, with current Covid issues should have been removed. There were 2 cctv cameras in the lounge and 1 on the landing which the owner assured us were there for security reasons only but added to the discomfort of the property. We knew there would be cctv but assumed it would be to the outside of the property. The back door was secured only by a small swivel latch. The sink in the bathroom of room 4 is cracked and dirty (see photo)-again a hygiene issue. Only after booking, were we sent a set of conditions stating that alcohol was not allowed on the premises, and if found would lead to removal of guests. After taking part in a 200 mile charity walk, we were looking forward to a cold beer. After contacting the owner, we were then given permission. The whole house, in my opinion, was more suited to student accommodation and needs a deep clean and many repairs to be brought up to a better standard.

I liked everything about my stay I feel comfortable and relaxed when I'm there.
