No smart tv as promised online and also on the 3rd floor room was small but enough for 1 night shower was cold a poor flushing system in the toilet sheets were clean but dated. A patch of mould on the ceiling and under the window staff was not very helpful

Lovely little find, will stay again!

It was nicely furnished, colour coordinated with pleasing linens and towels. The water pressure was also good in the shower and the room was lovely and warm. It also smelt really nice which matters to me and was very clean. The staff were super friendly and breakfast was cooked quickly with lots of variety. There was also onsite parking and close to amenities.

Incredible hotel and lovely staff - best night's sleep in a while!

The hotel was brilliant, lovely house, very quiet even on the side of a main road, could barely hear the traffic and no issues with noisy people outside or in the hotel. Staff were fantastic, very accommodating and friendly. The bed, if I could bring it home with me I would, I have never had such a good sleep away from home (or at home recently!) Than in that bed. Incredibly comfortable, even had a cheeky nap after breakfast before checking out. Everything was clean and tidy and there were plenty of amenities too. The breakfast was lovely, and my partner greatly appreciated the extras. Lots of choice of food for breakfast and served really quickly. I couldn't be happier and we will definitely be back!

A really lovely, comfortable stay with great service and a delicious breakfast.

Stayed at St Andrews House in Preston on Saturday and couldn’t fault it. The check-in was really easy, the place was spotless, and the beds were super comfy. It’s in a great location, close to town, and the breakfast was delicious — freshly made to order. The lady serving breakfast was so friendly and welcoming. All round, a really lovely stay!

A very comfortable stay with great hosts!

We had a great stay - staff were friendly & helpful, we were given a fantastic breakfast (plenty of choice & my husband said his full English had lots of flavour!). Good parking right outside the property, a lovely clean room and a very comfortable bed. The whole house is decorated lovely, with lots of period features. We would happily stay again if needed and would recommend to others to book.

The shower was ok but could do with updating. Staff have put a sign up in the bathroom explaining about how to best use it, which we did appreciate.

Left without staying

Couple we were travelling with were unhappy with the cleanliness of their room. There were no staff in residence so we decided to leave as we had already travelled 5.5 hours from Scotland and to return home meant another 4.5 hours driving in torrential rain.

Visiting the University of Lancashire for an open day - 5mins away from hotel.

Communication when and after booking was excellent, location was easy to find, parking available, room facilities suitable for need.

Room was at top of the hotel (up 4 flights of stairs), Main light bulbs in room were not working (used side lights which were quite bright), Room had a drainage, musty smell coming from the en-suite, At breakfast, unfortunately had a long brown hair on my plate over my food. Visiting Uni open day, so did not have time to discuss/comment/complain. We would gladly stay again but not in that room and would make time to raise issues with management next time, if any occur.

I've stayed at this hotel a couple of times. It is a great value for money hotel with friendly staff. Everywhere is nice and clean and a lovely breakfast was included in the room rate, which is always a bonus.

Very useful and affordable hotel for an overnight stay and not too far off the M6

Excellent breakfast, set me up for the day so well that I didn't really need lunch. Good sized room for a single, washbasin in room. Good wi-fi. Spacious car park. Would have thought the price steep if it was just a bed and breakfast or guest house but found St Andrews to be much more of a hotel when I got there.

Having a television on in the breakfast room is a bit of a bugbear of mine, although I don't mind it as much as I did when I started to experience hearing loss. Only seems to happen in the North of England these days, the rest of the World seems to prefer a calmer start to things now.

We stayed in the annex attached to the hotel which was very private and our own space Breakfast was provided but had to cook ourselves but as we were on a schedule we didn’t have time Clean, comfortable and modern Own parking available outside but our jeep wouldn’t fit

Hotel could have been opened for everyone to use Stairs are narrow and right at the bedroom door so care is needed as would be easy to fall down them. However, fully understand with the space available not much can be done to change and wouldn’t stop us staying again and wasn’t that big of a problem

Really friendly, spotless hotel in ideal location

The staff were helpful and very welcoming, both in person and via text message after I'd booked. The room was very clean and comfortable, and the whole building smelt really fresh and, again, very clean. I loved the high ceilings and the cool decor, particularly in the bathroom! I was very pleased that I could get some vegan options for breakfast. I really appreciate how the staff made sure everything was suitable for me (and the food was great!). The hotel is located in a quiet part of Preston opposite a church and a short walk from a few convenience shops and a very good chippy (King Kod - highly recommended!). I wasn't at all worried about the car in the car park outside. I slept excellently and will definitely book again when I'm next in the area.

These are very, very minor things, so they're hardly worth mentioning, but I think it'd be good to have some sort of shelves in the bathroom for clothes and stuff. A shelf for shower gel in the shower would also be useful! I'm not sure if this is intentional, but I couldn't see any signage for the hotel outside. While the directions did take me to the right place, I was briefly a bit confused as to where the entrance was. Maybe a little sign might help? As I said, nothing major at all - just suggestions!

Very clean and quiet I had a single room with en-suite facilities . The bathroom was well decorated and the shower was nice and roomy . Staff very friendly and helpful .
