One of the most beautiful accommodations in the Amed area, located directly on a beach of volcanic sand and stones. It’s better to have water shoes — they make getting into the sea easier. We managed just fine without them, though 🙂 We stayed outside the main season, so there were very few other guests. The breakfast included in the price was simple but completely sufficient, with several options to choose from.
The surroundings were lovely—lots of greenery, trees, and a pool. The grounds were cleaned daily, and the rooms as well; the staff asked every day whether we wanted housekeeping, and if we did, they cleaned the room each day.
Right within the Apa Kabar property there was a bar and restaurant offering tasty local dishes and drinks at very reasonable prices. In the nearby area, within walking distance, there are shops, restaurants, and local warungs.
The accommodation is located in a quieter part of Amed, but if you prefer livelier areas, you can get there by scooter in about 5 minutes. We walked along the main road instead—it takes about 20–25 minutes, with a bit of uphill walking, but it’s manageable.
Definitely a great value for the price.

I like the privacy of the large villa in back of property. The beds were very comfortable and rooms clean. The villa was located right near the beach. The staff was extremely friendly, very patient and customer focused. The lay out of the rooms were very nice. Their burger that is listed on their cafe menu was excellent! everyone ordered this and raved about how delicious was.
For the size of the living room, there were not to much of a seating area. It is listed that there was a TV in the villa, but I found out that it did not work, they should remove that (TV) from their 'Facility listing'. The water pressure to the (3 king bedroom) villa was very low and bad. We had to notify the lobby of this situation, it was corrected the following day. The breakfast was pretty sad for what I paid for the two night stay. I paid a lesser price at another hotel and received an excellent breakfast selection.

The most beautiful gardens and loved the traditional style villa and the out door shower. The location was lovely and quiet with beautiful views and the snorkeling out the front was the best spot of our trip.
The mosquitoes were really bad in the villa and the mosquito nets were full of holes and didn’t fit around the beds properly. We were all bitten badly despite insect repellent. The location is a little out of the main section of amed and was tricky to get places. We ended up hiring scooters which made it great.

The small resort so all our rooms were nearby. The swimming pool is nice and the view !
The staff is a bit nonchalant, sometimes we felt that we were annoying them by taking our orders.
The rooms are spacious but the maintenance of doors, bathrooms could be improved. It seems a bit old and need a fresh renovation.

The pictures and previous ratings looked good. However when we got there the villa was filthy. Stains on pillows and sheets. Pillows smelled bad. The bedspreads probably had never been washed. Stains on mattress. Kitchenette was very dirty too. We paid for an upgrade and were given 2 separate rooms with mezzanine floors with mattresses on the floor for 2 children to sleep on. It was about 100 degrees up there with just a fan. They could not sleep up there.
The rooms and bedding were just as dirty. So we paid extra for nothing.
The pool was dirty with oil scum and bits floating on it. It hadn't been cleaned in a while and no other guests used it either.
The staff are all young but pleasant until we decided to leave the day after arriving.
My daughter speaks and understands some Balinese and the staff were very rude about us while we stood there.
We did not bother speaking to management as a previous review says she's a horror with a bad attitude. We paid over the odds and more for this dump but moved on to a luxury hotel nearby.
I would not recommend this place. It's gross, don't waste your money. Minus -10 score
All of it. Photos shown. Not enough space to upload all the pictures taken. A complaint to Booking.com will be made.

Great location on the (rocky) beach. Wonderful snorkeling right off the beach with excellent coral and even turtles (can rent snorkeling gear on the beach from Candak, and he also does snorkeling/fishing tours). Lovely pool. Dining options were a good price and yummy. Convenience store across the road was very handy, and decent massages next door. Other good dining options a short walk along the beach. Peaceful place to stay. I would like to return.
Mezzanine room was very hot during the day, but OK at night with fan and AC on. Steps up very steep and not suitable for small kids (kids need to be able to use a ladder independently to access this space for sleeping. Top railing also very low and would make me nervous with young kids). Water pressure was very low in shower. Hilly walk into town (about 15mins along narrow busy road), and hotel transport was far more expensive than local guys (eg $20 v's $5).

Really enjoyed our private pool villa. Very good size with an outdoor kitchen. Coffee shop at the reception has amazing coffee. Probably best I’ve had in Bali.
Property itself was very good but food at the restaurant not so much. Ate here twice and both times had upset stomach.

It was very close to the beach.
One of the beds had bed bugs so our son was bitten quite a lot for the first few nights and we had to ask for the whole bed and bedding to be changed. The cottage wasn’t cleaned very well. We had problems with the water. We had to ask every moenjfb for things to be tooped up: water, coffee, our mugs etc.

You can enjoy all day at the resort, which was great while being on the road for a while.
Service is just all right. Lots of young staff, which is fine, untill something is up.

Beautiful setting, right on the beach, the rooms were great and loved the Balinese architecture. Pool setting was beautiful with water fountains and lighting. A lovely restful atmosphere across the whole complex.
The pool water was pretty cloudy and we wondered if it was monitored for safe standards. The menu was simple and pretty good, just a few disappointing meals. Also the bar music was a little repetitive and not great choices. Liked the Balinese style music and relax style music best.

The view is the saving grace of this place being right on the ocean sea front was magical - I would stay there again if they could just sort out some of things that so let it down - it really is such a shame
There is ZERO water pressure, like being dribbled on took ages to get soap off you - and for the first minute of running the water it smells of sulphur (gone off egg) it really is bad and as I was there for 15 days it became really unbearable I showered elsewhere whenever possible.
The cleanliness was 'ok' but it wasn't great the sheets were clean but had been stained previously and whilst the staff did an ok job they were just kids and were not given any real direction they often missed things, no attention to detail and they left brooms and things in the room, it really was a little bizarre - they were all nice enough (apart from the manager) who has a real attitude problem and was often quite rude despite me going out of my way to be nice - but the moment I made an issue of the insane water pressure she became very unpleasant.
The food there was never good, and whilst there is a coffee shop in front of them the coffee is also abysmal - so as soon as I had a scooter I never ate there for anything more than fruit or a beer.
Also the internet cut out constantly I was never really bothered by this as I used my mobile phone data at all times but the other guests were not so lucky with coverage (I used XL if it helps) others used Sally which had no coverage at all once the internet of the villas went down - worth noting.
The location was a calculated risk and if you don't like riding a scooter you will hate it here as there is nothing to do beyond the pebble beach.

Absolutely loved every moment. Small, intimate, quiet, relaxed spot right on the water edge. Great staff, great snorkeling right of the beach, extremely cozy and comfortable beds, great indoor and outdoor bathroom. Cute little restaurant right by the water. Great meals just let them know if you don’t want them to add msg!
Msg in the food but once we discovered that, they were happy to leave it out for our meals.

The location is lovely right on the waterfront. The Villas are traditional but thoughtfully furnished and very comfortable. The staff are lovely. Nice pool and we ate in the evenings and the food was pretty good. peaceful and tranquil.
We felt a bit isolated. It's dangerous to walk out in the dark.

The location was just perfect. Just outside of the main town but close to a great garden restaurant, we visited a couple of times. Situated on the beachfront meant we could swim in the sea and sunbathe by the pool which was lovely. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We had breakfast and one lunch, both were very good. Amazing coffee. I would recommend this hotel.
Excellent air conditioning, but not as effective for someone who might be sleeping on the mezzanine area of the room. We took a mattress from the upstairs area as it was too hot to sleep there.
The beach in front of the hotel could do with someone spending a few minutes each day to pick up litter. It was not very bad but it would be nice if someone took care of it.

The location was ok.
The property is very dated.
The shower pressure was non existent making it hard to wash off the soap. The bathroom just felt dirty.
The pillows were almost brown.
The staff were very nice but the language barrier was a little difficult.
We were only given one beach towel for a family of four but when we asked for more they said it wasn’t part of our booking.
I think for the price per night it was a little dear.
I think if they were to fix a few little issues it would be more appealing.

Amazing spot right by the beach to watch sunset and enjoy their huge frozen mango daiquiris while kids swim in the beautiful pool.
The two bed villas next to the pool are amazing and have so much space and the beds were super comfortable.
The water pressure was hit and miss with showers at times.

Fantastic hotel, wonderful staff who went out of their way to be friendly and welcoming. The restaurant served such delicious meals that we ate there every day. The hotel has such a lovely atmosphere that we were happy to stay and enjoy our days staying by our private pool. We loved everything about Apa Kabar Villas - thank you so much for a perfect stay!

Interesting beach, beautiful room.lovely vegetarian restaurant down the street
Always needed to go to meal area for water. It would be easy for staff to fill empty wine bottles with filtered water and stoppers and put in the room. The exterior walkways were dirty. Must be vigilant with mopping and cleaning exterior walkways when dogs on beach come into grounds or cats bring in a fish head. Beach faces property; staff might pick up garbage or plastic facing beach. Restaurant staff tired/bored and so was the food. Contracted services fell short including an excursion on a fishing boat to snorkel and no ladder to get back into the boat. Painful.

Location is amazing! Snorkeling straight out the front is world class! Staff fantastic! Very clean. Tasty food in the restaurant. Very relaxing.
No couch in the room for all the family to sit together. The loft is quite warm at night with no AC circulation. The pool was quite murky.

We had the room with private pool which was excellent.
The door couldn't be locked and the safe didn't work with a combination however these were minor issues.

Super friendly staff. Always keen to help you in anyway they can. Great snorkeling right in front of the hotel.
A little isolated from the other areas of Amed, you will need to be prepared to walk or get a driver.
