I like that in front of the hotel there are nice corals. The pool is also very modern. The chef at the restaurant is very good. I love the food at the restaurant. Also near the hotel, there's Devara Spa which is pretty nice. It's also close to a lot of dive spots so it's nice.
The hotel lobby is very old and doesn't look nice. The owner should modernize the lobby to make it look better. Also, when we entered the room there were some flies. The owner should spray first before guests come in. When we entered, the floor felt dirty and the sheets weren't clean. Only after we asked the staff to clean then they started to clean. Hope the owner sees this review and improved on quality. Especially the lobby, I don't like it

Perfect location for snorkeling, also lovely and quiet. The pool is nice, the restaurant was great and we ate almost all meals there. Very relaxing and chill place.
The water pressure in the shower is nonexistent! But there are handy showers by the pool to get the salt and sand off.

The location is amazing. Right on the beach but away from the main road so noise is minimal.
The linen and towels were a bit stained but they were clean. The staff were lovely but the massage lady ruined the trip for us. She would wait for us to come out our room to ask if we wanted massages then mutter under her breath when we said no. She would also harass us and other guests so much so that one of the guests shouted “NO” at her. She still continued to harass, even waking me asking again for what must have been the 7th time on a 3 day stay. She should have just had a sign up and let people go to her. For this reason and this reason only, I wouldn’t stay there again. She made the trip uncomfortable.

Only the beachfront location
Roos very not clean bathroom smelled like sewer and toilet was dirty and awful

Great staff! Beautiful room and grounds. Bed and pillows were comfy (comes with bug net for the bed which was a plus - no issues with mosquito bites in the room), open air bathroom was so pretty. Direct access to the black sand beach with beautiful clear water and locals offering snorkel tours. Restaurant on-site (great food!) and breakfast included was such a nice touch. WiFi in the room worked great on my phone but I didn’t try on my computer. However, there was WiFi at the restaurant (slow on my computer but worked well on my phone).
Overall, it was such a lovely peaceful stay!
The only small thing is the slow wifi on the computer since I needed it for work. But that’s it!

Nice sandy beach, more so about 50 metres to right of the resort .Restaurant has nice sea view. Scooter rental are available from lobby.
These cottages are quite old , in need of refresh, beds are hard. Mold in shower area, no tv , no clothes rack ,swimming pool small, with no view to sea .They don't supply snorkelling gear .At check out they charge us for 7 instead of 5 beers , but not worth arguing about. Their rates for rooms are way overpriced . There are many other cheaper accommodation in Amed and better . There are some good eating places , little supermarkets, etc with in walking distance but main centre you will need a bike or taxi.

The beach was rich in front of the restaurant and had a decent reef for snorkeling. The affiliated dive center, EuroDive is exceptional.
Our bathroom was amazing; outdoor shower and stone tub. The room itself was large with plenty of room to spread out.
Restaurant makes an effort to accommodate dietary restrictions.
It was a little pricey, but our room was quite large.

Hidden Paradise Cottages is the full package - location, facilities, staff and food. We'll be back next year.
Poor Internet! Bali even more than most locations REQUIRES a strong connection. During our 5 days a fair connection was normal but no Internet happened for hours at a time. This why my rating was 9 not 10/10.

Karma Loka is south of the Amed beach area and quieter. The property is right on the beach and the lovely, open restaurant overlooks the beach. The villas are private from each other, roomy and comfortable. The bed is *huge! The AC is great and kept the room very comfortable at all times, while there is a little porch with chairs and table out the front. The bathroom works well except that it’s hard to get hot water - but we found this to be the same everywhere we stayed in Indonesia. The staff are very friendly, polite and super-helpful at all times. There is a one-day laundry service that is cheap, handy and leaves your clothes smelling sweet. I *thoroughly recommend the restaurant - the included breakfast was lovely and plentiful, while other meals were delicious and reasonably priced (we ate mainly Balinese/Indonesian style). I recommend this property.

I thoroughly enjoyed my staff at Hidden Paradise Cottages on Lipah beach, Amed.
The large rooms are very well equipped with luxurious outdoor bathrooms. Each bungalow feels separate enough to allow privacy even on the front veranda overlooking the beautiful gardens.
The restaurant overlooks the beach from which you can swim or snorkel safely. There were other bars and restaurants in the local area, but I didn't feel the need to visit them as the menu at Hidden Paradise was extensive and varied enough for me.
This was probably my favourite accommodation on Bali. It provided everything I needed, and I would love to return.
This was the most expensive accommodation that I stayed in on Bali (over a period of 2.5 weeks and 7 locations). With so much competition along the coast this is surprising. However, the accommodation and environment are of a high standard so as a Western tourist, I think this is the going rate. It was worth it.

Incredible location on the beach beside the best snorkeling of our lives. Truly fantastic restaurant and best breakfast ever. Beautiful rooms and great swimming pool.

The beach side location with snorkelling right off the beach was amazing. Also Liam, one of the managers, was great to interact with in the restaurant.
We didn’t like the fact that our specific requests were completely ignored even though these were regularly communicated over a 6 month period. We constantly got responses of “noted” but on check in none of these requests were honoured. Other than this inconvenience it was a great stay.
The lady on the beach constantly pushing for massages is a bit annoying. She should back off if you say no and not continue to pressure and annoy you.

Hidden Paradise is an absolute gem. Beautiful room, lovely gardens, pool, beach front location, but most of all, beautiful staff. We felt instantly at home. We spent our 12 days swimming, snorkelling ( lots of fish, healthy coral and turtles!) in clean watersand enjoying morning and evening walks either along the beach or the road. We really enjoyed the food at Hidden Paradise but there are many little nearby warungs and cafes that are also great. We have been to Bali many times and are glad we have now found THE best, for us anyway , part of Bali. Beautiful setting, not ruined by too much development.
Nothing. It truly delivers a wonderful experience to escape a South Australian winter!

Breakfast was plentiful and good with quite a few cooked options, along with fruit salad, toast, yoghurt, juice, and tea/ coffee.
Overall, the hotel provided good value for money, right on Lipah beach, with direct access for swimming and snorkelling.
The beds were huge and comfortable, with a vast mosquito net and plug-in repellent.
The restaurant also serves dinner, with the honey ribs and fish satay being our firm favourites.
The pool area was very good, big enough for a decent swim, and good for children to play too.
The barstaff served cocktails, milkshakes, and coconuts to the poolside, which always feels like a bit of a luxury.
The gardens are well maintained and attractive.
All members of the staff are very friendly and approachable.
The useful WiFi was available in all areas onsite.
Parts of the premises feel really tired and in need of TLC, or serious updating, for instance little things like the bathroom fittings could do with replacing.
A deep clean of the rooms would feel fresh and wholesome, eg behind drawers and under beds

The beach is secluded and you can snorkel right from the hotel. We saw fish, corals and a turtle. The restaurant at the hotel is tasty.

The location is fantastic, right on the beach. The staff are fantastic and friendly and very helpful. Food is very nice and fresh.
The accommodation is comfortable with everything you need.
Nothing to report that we dislike
We would love some cushions on the sun lounges for extra comfort.

Brilliant snorkeling from the private beach leading off the seaside restaurant. Great little bungalows with inside/outside bathrooms. Great showers with good pressure. Very friendly staff. Good value for money stay.
Didn't bother us.... But be advised that there are quite a few roosters nearby/on site, that crow quite a bit from about 5am onwards. I sleep with earplugs, so didn't bother me. But it might bother some. Apart from that, lovely facilities on offer.

Beautiful traditional cottages in an incredible beachfront setting, with amazing snorkelling and marine life only steps away.
Beautiful gardens with a lovely pool
Staff were incredibly generous and helpful.
I’m definitely returning !

The location is just amazing, there is few steps from your bungalow to the beach.
The swimming pool is perfect for families with a little side for toddlers and kids.
The restaurant is facing the sea, the menu offers a wide range of occidental and local dishes. Of course, it is good! (try the typical banana pancake with coconut and brown sugar, the grilled fish, the chiken raviolis, chiken sate etc.)
You can snorkel directly on the beach, there is a rental point, and as Amed is well known for that, that is amazing. Fist time I swam with a school of cuttlefish!
Plus, for a day we hired a nanny at nannyamedbali.com and she was lovely.
The noise at night. Unfortunately and despite how good our stay was at the hotel, we didn't slept well. There is a bunch of roosters on the neighbour's field and they are literally screaming all night long... I recommend asking for a bungalow located close to the other hotel (on the left when you're facing the sea). You can bring earplugs.

The staff is by far the best thing here… all very nice and accommodating. The place is nice, beach front and with a chilled vibe.
Food is average although breakfast was decent. The road to access this part of town is terrible. All business on this part of town will suffer more and more as people will choose to stay further south and avoid the Swiss cheese type of road leading here.

It’s in a beautiful bay.
It’s old and tired and needs some TLC. I don’t mind the ants or any other wildlife coming in due to the lovely open air bathroom but the taps the shower head the plug sockets etc we’re not clean. Old furniture in the bungalows were broken and dusty.
The food is the worst I’ve had in Bali.

Perfect location, just on the beach. Sea was like swimming in an aquarium and the beach was very nice with black sand, very nice for the kids to play. Staff were very nice, breakfast was ok, food was excellent at the hotel and with very reasonable prices. I would definitely recommend and visit again.

Hidden cottages is an hidden gem! Super friendly staff, authentic decoration (those statues in the garden!) and a nice beach in front of the cottages. My father recommended this place as he loved it so much 20 years ago. Although the place could use a bit of ‘updating’, it still is a very beautiful, heartwarming accommodation. The garden is beautiful and the Balinese art & statues give a authentic vibe.
The breakfast is very good, everything is homemade (peanut butter, bread, jams) and one can choose eggs any style. We don’t understand why the rating for breakfast on booking is so low?
Great place to stay with kids.
The accommodation could use some updating: change table cloths in the restaurant, new curtains (now synthetic) and perhaps consider closing the giftshop?
Our family room was a bit overpriced but maybe that was because of New Years..

i rate this accommodation highly. It is in a beautiful location with access straight to the beach, no stairs ! The rooms and gardens are well appointed with everything you need. The wifi is fast and free. The breakfast is the best in Bali with plentiful choices and a cool comfortable location. The sea food arrives fresh off the boats daily.
There is nothing i did not like about this place

The hotel has direct access to the beach which is great. However this is the only hotel in Bali where we found the staff less welcoming than usual. It may have been down to the person on duty when we arrived. We were not offered a welcome drink on arrival (the only hotel that didn't do that during our 2 weeks in Bali, and we stayed in 6 different hotels), and were not helped with carrying out suitcases to our room either. Breakfast was quite disappointing too, service was average. We didn't get the same feel of Bali as we had in our previous hotels, not sure why. Just the overall feeling of the place.
We had booked 2 nights and managed to cancel the second one at no cost, which we spent in Gili Air instead.

location right on the best part of Lipah beach. individual bungalows in spacious lovely gardens. food was very good and the staff very friendly and helpful. The pool is clean and refreshing in a shady spot of the garden. The lawn area in front of the beachfront restaurant is a wonderful place to relax and watch the jukongs and the changing colours of the sea and sky. Snorkelling the reef in front an added bonus. Blessed to swim with a turtle.
nothing really.

Our stay at Hidden Paradise was a truly blissfully experience, I cannot recommend it enough! From the moment we arrived the staff went out of their way to accommodate our every need and request. Ayu (at reception) arranged for the hire of a high-quality scooter, massages in our villa, scuba diving and early breakfast checkout boxes. The premises are beautifully manicured, right on the private beach, with good food and drinks at the restaurant. The pool is lovely and clean, with such a relaxed atmosphere. You have to try the Balinese pancake - it is incredible! Thank you Ayu and team, this was the best holiday we've ever had!
That we could not stay longer :(

We loved the beachfront location and snorkelling right off the beach. Sunrises are amazing from this location. Bungalows were comfortable. It is one of the original resorts in the area so some would call it dated but I just call it Bali of old. Bungalows are traditional and that is part of the charm. Roosters can be heard in the distance. We didn’t have an issue with this. In fact I enjoyed hearing them. We loved our quiet patio area. Gardens are immaculate. Pool looked great but given beachfront location we spent our water time snorkelling. Restaurant also overlooks the beach and is a great spot for a meal or just chilling with a drink. We ate there twice because we liked the meals - we don’t often eat in resorts but the duck was amazing. In the end we ended up extending our stay we loved being there so much. Thanks to Made for organising sailing and fishing trip for us too. They can organise snorkelling etc for you but we had our own gear. An great impromptu Bali holiday find and as I type this review from our villa in Ubud I am already missing Hidden Paradise. We definitely plan on getting back to this lesser known part of beautiful Bali.
Not much.
