Fab Stay at The Mousetrap
Staff - so welcoming, efficient, helpful, friendly - you should be proud of them! Clean and comfortable room. Location - spot on!
Lack of parking spaces, but not your fault - we parked in a central location, (no cost), and we are quite abke to walk - but we failed to get a spot at the pub which would have been ideal 🙂

Fantastic stay and room 11 was perfect 👌
Lovely stay. We had room 11 & it was perfect. I was surprised to read reviews it was noisy as it was above the kitchen as we did not hear a thing. Room was spotlessly clean & bed was so comfortable. The bathroom was amazing, great shower & toiletries provided. Breakfast was delicious as was our meal in the evening. All staff were so happy, kind and helpful. Thank you all for such a great stay x

Nice village inn with good food
The room was comfortable and had everything you needed. The breakfast was good, with lots of choice and the breakfast lady was very friendly.
The evening meal was exceptional but the dining area could have been warmer.
Staff were all very friendly
Easy walk to Hawkstone Brewery (20 mins)
Easy walk into the village.
Unfortunately the WiFi was not good, and as low coverage for mobile data it did impact us.
The bathroom could do with either a heated towel rail or radiator.
Better details for booking in when the pub was closed

Great location and friendly staff
Breakfast was plentiful and the staff were so helpful and friendly that it really made our short stay in the Cotswolds a brilliant part of our trip to the UK.

Beautiful place and amazing food
Beautiful cosy B&B. Lovely food, we had dinner which was delicious and had breakfast included in our stay which was perfect. Location to the village was also perfect being a stones throw away.
There was a funny damp smell in our bathroom which wasn’t very nice and the shower was freezing cold. The door to the building is also very heavy and when people enter it slams shut quite loud, this could be heard from our hotel room. Parking can also be a pain, I do believe if you’ve paid to stay there overnight then you should be guaranteed a space nearby. Luckily after a while we were able to find a space to keep the car overnight by the hairdressers else we would have really struggled.

Just perfect, the food, the room, the lounge and bar and the wonderful staff.
What’s not to like, warm cosey, full of atmosphere.
Parking is limited. There are places in the village but maybe a problem if mobility is limited.

Mousetrap Bourton on the water
Good atmosphere, clean, nice staff, close to centre.
Only letdown the full English breakfast, bacon precooked so hard when arrived, poached egg cold and hard.

Great location!
Ideal location.
Lovely quaint cottage type hotel and restaurant. Easy access to the village and Hawkstone Brewery. Rooms are small but beautiful and have everything you need. Parking is tight and could be an issue. We stayed 1 night and breakfast was included, which was lovely. If you want an evening meal, book in advance. Great location 👌
Nothing.

Pleasant and peaceful.
Location and very peaceful. Well maintained rooms and pub. Breakfast was good.
Unlimited yea and coffee would improve breakfast, as would some fruit, cereal and pastries to have as an option before a warm breakfast. We were not told that the pub bar would be closed from 8pm when we arrived. We came back from a meal out at 8.30 and wanted to have a drink in the bar before going to bed, but the bar was shut. This would have been fine had we been told.

relaxing, enjoyable, can’t wait to come back and experience it all over again
Rooms very comfortable & cosy, staff super friendly and welcoming. Food excellent in the restaurant and a really good choice of breakfast - all in all a thoroughly enjoyable stay
nothing - everything was perfect
6.0 / 10.0
Great location, idyllic pub but lacks attention to detail.
We loved the close proximity to the town, and the walking distance to the Hawkstone Brewery - the location was perfect!
The lack of parking, cleanliness within the room (dust particles and cobwebs over light fixtures, walls and ceilings and the extractor fan in the bathroom - so much dust has been gathered that it was covering the wall) and no hot running water!! The staff were overrun and off their feet with only one lady dealing with guests for breakfast. As such, we didn’t feel like we had the opportunity to raise these issues.

Location, great food, comfy bed

Great find close to the village.
Great location, just a 10 minute walk into the village. lovely old pub, loads of character. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was amazing. Would definitely recommend.
Car parking is a bit limited, but we managed to get a space for our stay. The route from the pub to the car park is past the kitchen and a bit of an obstacle course. Think it could be tidier for pedestrian access.

Would definitely stay again but ask for a different room.
The food was excellent at the Mousetrap , the staff extremely helpful and the location minutes walk from the town.
The only thing negative was that our room was directly over the kitchen meat fridge/ storage container therefore we were overlooked and it was a little noisy couldn't open the window or the curtains .

Fabulous!
Lovely pub; great lunch; scrumptious breakfast (but could be larger portions); accommodation very comfortable.
I ordered scrambled eggs with smoked salmon on toast and a pineapple juice. It was delicious, but that was all we had… a small glass of juice and 1 piece of toast with eggs & salmon. It was cooked to perfection, but it was a small portion. Maybe some cereal or fruit on offer too would be nice.

Great food, rooms idea and perfect location to explore the Cotswolds, oh and ideal location for circular walk to upper a
Great location just outside Bourton ideal
Parking for us was fine having a smaller car but was tight on spaces
3.0 / 10.0
Overpriced, Poorly Run, and Very Disappointing
It was clean and in a good location
Score: 3/10 – Only clean, everything else poor
The only reason I’ve given this place 3/10 is that it was at least clean. Everything else about our stay was awful, especially at £175 per night for a twin room.
Check-in & Parking
Check-in was through the pub bar with no separate desk. We waited 10–15 minutes behind regulars ordering drinks. Parking is a joke—just a handful of tiny, cramped spaces. Even if you squeeze in, it takes ages to get out. On our second night, we couldn’t park at all and had to leave the car elsewhere.
Room
One of the smallest, gloomiest rooms I’ve stayed in. Beds were uncomfortable, on wheels that rolled away on the laminated floor. No bedside table by one bed, so I had to charge my phone on the floor. No furniture other than the beds, and barely any room to move around — my friend had to brush past me every time he went to the bathroom. Curtains stayed closed as the window faced the car park, giving no privacy. To top it off, we were woken by a boy racer revving his engine outside at 8am.
Bathroom
Cramped shower (awkward if you’re tall or broad). The only “upgrade” was a fancy mirror with different lighting modes — which just felt misplaced when everything else was so poor.
Breakfast
Service was slow and unfriendly. Only one staff member on, who told us she was “too busy.” My specific order was ignored: instead of what I asked for, I was given the standard breakfast with items I didn’t want (black pudding, hash brown), while the bacon was underdone and not crispy. It was unappetising. On the second morning, we skipped it altogether and went up the road to Box Bush, which was excellent.
Overall
Clean, yes — but uncomfortable, noisy, overpriced, and poorly run. Not worth anywhere near £175 a night.

Nice stay, good location and great Pub. Rooms did need a better clean though.
Breakfast was great, The Dinner was also great and the pub has a nice atmosphere. Staff were very friendly and always helpful.
Room was not particularly clean, found Hair in the bed. Walls have marks on and dont seem to be cleaned particularly well. Was not horrific but certainly not the cleanest place we have stayed. Would expect a cleaner room.
7.0 / 10.0
A well-located B&B with comfortable rooms, with some minor noise challenges.
The room itself was very comfortable, and a nice place to relax after a day of exploring. The location couldn’t be better: just a short stroll into town, around 20 minutes to Hawkestone, and we walked Lower Slaughter with ease, around half an hour.
A couple of things did affect the quality of our stay. We stayed in Room 11 which is above the kitchen, and while the evening noise stopped around 10 pm, it started again about 7:30 am with an extraction fan noise. Also the bathroom door didn’t close or lock properly, which was a little inconvenient. The bathroom had no blind or covering on the window, so the early morning sunlight streamed in. This wouldn’t prevent us from staying here again though.
There are limited parking spaces. We were lucky enough to get a parking space but appreciate this could be an inconvenience if you aren’t able to get one as you’ll be walking with luggage.

A warm welcome and really comfortable stay
The room was lovely and cosy and spotless, location was great on the edge of the town and bonus it has its own car park as Bourton was super busy!
The breakfast wasn't great - we had eggs benedict and the muffins weren't toasted and the poached eggs were solid! we had waited about 20 minutes too so were a bit disappointed.

Nice little pub
The room was small, but comfortable with good amenities. Amelia is the backbone of the staff there. She works so hard, always with a smile on her face. Well done Amelia!
One lad, agency i believe was rather rude.

Lots of character and lovely staff
Lovely building, lots of character. Good size room. Breakfast was very nice. All staff were very friendly.
Window in bathroom didn't have blind or curtains so no privacy. No biscuits in room to go with tea/coffee.

Somewhat disappointing due to room allocated to us.
Great location.

Lovely and welcoming with great staff and fantastic food.
It was quaint made of Cotswold stone. The room was a good size and cleaned every day. The staff were lovely and friendly. The food was excellent.
The parking. Though advertised with a car park it was not very big and we didn’t get a space until the second night. However this seemed to be a problem for the whole of Bourton on the water.
