Great location, friendly staff.

Amazing location, staff were really friendly. The room was clean and we were able to park on the hotel car park. The price was really reasonable aswell!

Personal preference but the mattress was to hard for my liking so weren't the best sleep. Hotel a little tired in places but overall a nice little one stay.

Bed for the night

The location was great, right in the middle of the village by the river. Nice quiet room. Bed was comfy. Outside was a beer garden which would be lovely in summer.

The room was a bit run down, could do with some tlc. Stains on carpet, radiator didnt work in the bedroom and window wouldnt shut in bathroom. We were only there one night so it was fine, but wouldnt want to stay longer. Thought the cost was a bit much for the quality of room, but suppose it is more expensive in The Cotswolds!

Disappointing

Location was perfect

The bathroom was disgusting, mould all over the walls and ceiling. Black grime all inside the shower and the shower just trickled out and went hot and cold. It wasn’t a proper shower. The rooms all need TLC and isn’t worth the money. You are paying purely for the location.

Lovely location, but accommodation extremely disappointing.

The staff were very accommodating, the room was nicely decorated and the bed was comfortable.

The main light in the first room we were given didn’t work, but thankfully we were able to be moved because the shower was absolutely hideous and had what looked like orange limescale stuck between the door runners. The bathroom in the 2nd room wasn’t much better and in desperate need of some tlc! The shower was fine, although the shower head was pathetic. The worst of it was paint was peeling off the bathroom walls which fell off and got stuck to our feet and ended up walking bits all over the room! The toilet seat was old and had black bits engrained in it and the radiator and bathroom door looked swollen, which also had paint peeling off them both. Also the tv on the wall tilted to one side and couldn’t get it to sit straight, so had to watch it at an angle. There was also a massive gap under the bedroom door, so had to block the light out at night with the bed runner. For what we paid, it was extremely disappointing.

Dirty room and weak shower.

Great location

We were initially given a room that hadn't been cleaned from the previous guests. Bed unmade and empty beer cans everywhere. Told manager who found another room but didn't seem very apologetic. Would have thought he may have offered a complimentary drink or discount. The rooms were nice but the shower was awful. Took 30 seconds for water to come out of the taps / shower after turning on and the shower pressure was weaker than a watering can. At £150 for a Saturday night, I would not stay here again.

The bathroom room 7 was tiny. Radiator paint peeling, shower door stopped from fully opening by the sink, towel rail over the toilet. Carpets up the stairs really old and worn.

Well located for a Cotswolds trip

Very well located in the heart of the town. The room was large and comfortable and the breakfast good.

The car park is small and if there are no spaces parking elsewhere is difficult. Arrive early to avoid disappointment! As a busy pub in the evenings dinner is a bit hectic. Being in the centre of the town it can be quite noisy at night, although there is not much Greene King can do about that.

Room was not nearly as nice/clean as the pictures on the website. Bathroom was tiny and had no outlet for hairdryer. Shower was so small I couldn't reach down to pick up the soap dispenser(on the bottom) and no soap dish or shelf. No outlet near the full length mirror either. Had to look at my reflection on the turned-off TV screen to dry my hair.

Tiny, annexe room. Not a great stay.

Location was central and parking was an unexpected bonus. Towells were good and room was clean

The room was tiny and cramped, in the annexe part of the hotel. The shower was tiny, you couldn't turn around in the bathroom without opening the door and the shower was powerful but the showerhead had barely any holes, so was useless and painful to use. Heating was weird, had to turn it off in the night as it was noisy, and the emergency exit stair light as stupidly bright and glowed green in the whole room. Very odd room.

Highly recommend this hotel for your stay in the Cotswolds.

Staff was excellent --front desk, servers, bartenders Great location and atmosphere Housekeeping was great.

Room was small, and that's ok but it was rather dimly lit. Could use better lighting or brighter bulbs. Shower/tub needs a grip bar. We had an issue with smokers on the fire escape smelling up the room.

Cotswald overnight in transit.

Great location , good food and a good fun karaoke Friday night! The rooms are small but adequate. Bath was good and having an iron and ironing board was useful. The car park was secure and reasonably large. We checked in with light overnight luggage as the suitcases would not have readily fitted in the room but it was fine. The location right on the river and in the centre of town is great.

Being a 300year old building which started life as a large house it suffers from the usual issues such as no lift, narrow stairs, creaking floor boards and small rooms .

Location, location, Location

Location was great as it was right in the centre of town, next to the river and diagonally opposite the Motor Museum. There is limited parking out the back but we managed to secure a car park by the river the first night and in their car park the second night. Cafes & restaurants are all within an easy walk. I didn't include breakfast when I prepaid. When I checked around town I found the other breakfast options were similarly priced. Breakfast offered had great variety. I enjoyed the breakfast on site, especially the pastries, which were to die for. Lots of power points in the room (both sides of the bed and at the table).

The hotel is a little worn and showing its age. The bathroom was very small and the shower tiny. Hubby is generously portioned and struggled to fit in the shower. The shower head only gave out a limited amount of water.

This hotel desperately needs a large injection of money to make it the best hotel in it's location.

Location superb. Comfortable Bed and bedding and towels were good. Heating was on. Staff friendly and obliging.

On arrival the entrance was shabby which doesn't give a good impression. Stair case was showing signs of extreme wear with dirty carpets. Bedroom had no wardrobe and the drawers were very small so unable to store jumpers etc. Bathroom very small with washbasin behind the door and no toiletries other than a tube of hand gel hanging on the wall and a large clear plastic bottle of green liquid half full with no label to say what it was. No shampoo, moisturiser or tissues. Coat hook on the bathroom door was broken. Empty sani bag holder which was never refilled during our stay. Bedroom door did not self close which contravenes the fire regulations.

Great location. Shame about the rooms.

Jack behind the bar was particularly friendly as was the woman on reception. All bar one member of staff were lovely. You can’t knock the location it’s in an amazing spot (although so are most hotels in the town) you’re close to everything. The bakery across the road is a must too.

The room was pretty dreadful - shower was old and clunky, room dull, bed uncomfortable and bizzarely very slanted - plus generally very dated (not to mention the poorly hidden leaks from the ceiling). The parking is also no where near adequate - a quick fix would be sorting a deal with a local car park to avoid the stress of driving around trying to find a near impossible to find spot. All but one member of staff were lovely and did their best job to keep us happy. Unfortunately I believe that said staff member was the bar or restaurant manager (not sure as didn’t fancy having to chat to him) - there were several rude moments from him and we got that vibe from his attitude to other guests too.

The room was very small, there were very low beams and my boyfriend kept banging his head. There were no mirrors in the room. The room was very close to another room and so it was quite noisey.
