.

There’s nowhere else like it. We love it, especially the little cation which is stunning

The building has loads of character Its an affordable price. Breakfast was good. The location is perfect for the Cumbria Way

There's a serious lack of heating/ drying facilities. Came in from a long day on the Cumbrian Way soaked to the skin with torrential non stop rain. The room heaters only came on for an hour in the evening and an hour next morning and weren't very hot. The is a 'drying room' in the basement but it wasn't great either. Consequently I had to wear wet boots and clothes the following day (the previous night at a different hotel I had hung things on the radiator to dry which worked well because it was on!). Bathrooms are private but separate, not ensuite which was fine. The corridor was quite noisy/creaky with movement too and from bathrooms.
