School House

Mike was very helpful and attentive. I didn’t get his message to phone issues but everything about the stay was great. Only banged my head on the bed once but it was a thing of beauty

The location of the school house had some amazing views of the district and the peaks.

Lovely stylish room , comfortable bed, perfectly located for coast to coast walk . Sociable breakfast- good to chat with fellow guests about their C2Cs. Close to pub with good food. Mike made us a very good packed lunch for the next day.

Nearby church bell rang all night long which kept me awake. There was traffic noise too, so ear plugs would be useful. The shared bathroom was annoying because there was no engaged/ vacant sign, as was the inability to control the water temperature in the shower. Perhaps slightly overpriced.

Not much. Although a lovely old school house it was decorated with the owner’s Balinese pieces. Nice, but inappropriate.

I stayed in 6 different places in the Lake District and this was the only one that required full payment, non refundable, in February for a June stay. The checkin was 4pm or after, not before, the shower towels were tiny and so small you couldn’t wrap them around you especially for a shared bathroom, you could be seen outside the bathroom window while drying yourself, it was very dangerous getting into a large shower/bath with only a small step to assist, the ‘full English breakfast’ my partner had was 2eggs, a tiny piece of bacon and a tiny sausage shorter than your finger. I could understand all this if we booked an aiir bnb but we booked through booking.com and the price was the same as other places we booked in the Lake District which were magnificent for the same price and without a shared bathroom and a much more generous breakfast. Sorry Mike, but ‘stingy’ describes everything at your place.
