If you want a small, traditional B&B/guesthouse, a grand breakfast and a most entertaining host, then this is for you.

Staying here was very comfortable and cosy. The property is so characterful. Anne is a lovely host; she is very friendly and welcoming. She has a lot of local knowledge that she is happy to share. The breakfast was good with locally sourced produce. The location is also great; Staveley is a lovely village with a good pub, a Spar, a village shop, a cafe bar and a fish and chip shop. It’s also very close to exploring the many delights of the Lake District.

Great home away from home. Anne makes you feel welcome as soon as you arrive, serves breakfast lovingly, chats to you about the history of the property and the village, and about her life, and gives you great tips about where to eat and what to do and see - all of which adds hugely to the overall experience. The accommodation itself is exceptional - as it perfectly combines the authentic features of a 17th century cottage with modern conveniences that include everything you need for a comfortable stay and a good sleep, such as an ensuite bathroom in two of the rooms. The place is spotlessly clean, and has many little features that delight you as a guest. Great value for money too.
