Good location, friendly staff and good food undermined by an uncomfortable mattress

Dinner was very good I had the risotto and sea bass. Breakfast was also very good

Bed mattress was uncomfortable and lumpy I expect more from a hotel like this.

Nice ambiance and decor, the hotel has been well kept and all areas have been upgraded to maintain a fresh appearance.

Bed was comfortable. Parking onsite is a bonus, and bar area is spacious. Over a week stay, I enjoyed my experience. However, a negative point I felt was with the housekeeping. After requesting a room tidy twice throughout the week, this consisted of fresh towels being left, yet the bed was not remade, sink being left unclean and no re-supply of toiletries or condiments for room, which was a bit of a let down in my opinion. Breakfast was well presented, yet the plates were stone cold and area used was similar and could be better moved into restaurant area in poor weather conditions.

Very spacious rooms, immaculately clean, comfy bed, great shower, good facilities and excellent food, but best of all, the staff were so friendly and welcoming and it’s was a really sociable environment.

Great location, but too many dogs staying there

Great location, we used the hotel as a hub to go out and explore Coniston and other places. Lovely & clean room.

Wish someone would’ve told us that this was a dog hotel - nearly every person except for us had 1 or more dogs, so there were loads of dogs in the restaurant and the bar. Great if you like dogs, but wouldn’t recommend it for those wanting a more relaxing (and less noisy) experience!

Never expected from a star rated hotel chain, is very disappointing experience! 1. Not cleaned, found used tissues in many places 2. Cupboard's not cleaned, and were unusable properly and too noisy 3. No drinking glass provided, and no tray to keep our things 4. No combination water tap 5. No facility available to call the staff 6. Tv remote is broken it seems, very old and no wi-fi connectivity on the TV..etc.. 7. Door lock is a bit flaky... ....and many others... It doesn't worth the price paid.. nowhere near to the price paid!

Room smelt of charcoal from burning or cigarettes. There was no bottled water provided - tap water is not drinkable so bottled water MUST be provided.

Hotel was nice let down by lack of communication would not return

The staff within the facility were fantastic. The room woould have been nice without the smell.

The after care was terrible we complained about the room as the smell which was unbearable from the drains in the bathroom. We slept with the windows open. We were promised on multiple occasion for a call back off the manager which none was received. Management communication.

The staff were brilliant, all who I met, I remember Joan and Rihanna, they were very helpful and accommodating, Not forgetting the other members of staff I met, I didn't quite catch their names but they were pleasant,

Location

When arriving to check in at 4pm. No one at reception. I had to go into the bar and found a number of staff talking so asked if I could check in. I was staying in room 27. When booking the room I was told I would have a crib due to travelling with my 4 month old baby. I had a single bed instead. Rooms are tired and need redecorating, old water in kettle, toilet paper was not a brand new roll, stain on bedding, mattress springs broken & curtains had stains all over.

Bed was like stone Pillows flatter than a pancake Coffee machine completely unhygienic Off milk or dirty coffee machine not entirely sure which No allergy protocols in place Coffee cups from our coffee made with off milk and dirty machine left on patio over 24 hours Patio area unkept ashtrays never emptied and cleaned the weather was lovely patio not utilised due to untiedness
