Cleaniess Location

Although the room was clean it need some attention with things like drawee handles missing and fixes that had been removed but not fully. Spy hole in door is to high I am 5ft 8 and had to stand on tip toe to use it. No breakfast which I wasn't told but luckily found it in someone else's review. TV seemed to be set to one channel and volume. And very nosiness with people using fire exit stairs to smoke and use there phones what seemed like every 20 minutes through the night. I think I had around 2 hours sleep in all. Not good when it had taken me over 4 hours to get there and 4 hours to get home after 2 hours sleep.

Ambrose Hotel

The hotel bar was very friendly and welcoming and, not only the staff, but the regulars too. It offers a wide variety of beers on draught, with a decent array of spirits and wines also available. Three different SKY TV boxes linked to multiple large screen TVs means that there is plenty to choose from to watch, if that's your thing.... especially handy for football fans. You can alternatively sit in a quiet corner for a chat. Food is available for eating in the bar, or to take to your room if you'd rather do that. All topped off by wonderful staff. Well worth a visit.

I wasn't too happy with the beds. The mattresses were uncomfortable and the springs were very annoying.

Friendly welcome, decent size room and bathroom.

The bed was awful. I felt every spring of the mattress, and the pillow was two thin pillows stuffed together in the same pillowcase. Hard. The location is close to the shopping park and the local football ground, but that's the only thing going for it.

All Hotel staff are so lovely, polite and catered for myself and my dog very well. Thank you very much.

(Not the hotels fault) for me I tried to have an early night, however I was woken up numerous occasions due to chants and cheers from the football. Nothing that can be helped from the hotel, it’s just something I knew what I was signing up for.

The room was nice and clean, kind and friendly staff

Guestroom doors slam very loudly. Not only the noise, could feel the force of them in the bed. This, paired with the endlessly screaming child in the next room resulted in poor sleep

Don't Bother !

Not much.

TV didn't work, when I complained,was told 'haven't you got a laptop'. Refused to change my room even though there were vacant rooms. From 8.00 am onwards theres shouting from cleaning staff so you can't sleep in if you want to. Small room very basic. Won't stay again!

Location is good.

I did not know that the downstairs is a bar opeinig late at night, I think this place is not suitable for family with kids. Also I found one guest came with two BIG SIZE DOGS, and down the stairs my wife and childrens were freigtened due the sudden barking of the dogs, they infact rushed to attak us, unless they got the leash, oh God! Its terrible.

Terrible stay

The most uncomfortable nites sleep bed was very uncomfortable nonspace for my disabled partner to move bed was too high I had to lift her up onto the bed could not walk down the side to use the toilet in the she had to wake me up so I could help her out to the toilet constantly doors banging all night in and out keeping us both awake

The staff were very friendly, the room was very big and so was the bathroom. We were close to where we needed to be. You could not hear noise from the pub, also there was a rugby match on and you couldn't really hear thatl either.

3 day stay, dissapointing.

Good location. Ease of access and parking available. Good spacious room. Tea and coffee available. Pet friendly. Friendly and courteous staff. Very nice people.

Loose taps with water leakage, commode handle loose, loose towel hangers. Not much ventilation except 2 skylight windows which leaked due to rain and had to be closed. Only one small fan for the whole room.Room not cleaned during our stay, no room service or food available. TV not working.

Very clean, comfortable bed, plenty of tea/coffee supplies and reserves of same. Fridge, microwave etc in hall to use if required. Car parking.

Sat nav too me to the wrong g end of Duke Street despite using post code, so would advise use of building number in addition to post code on sat nav.

Cosy pub with rooms. No loud music despite being bank holiday weekend. On street parking directly outside - no restrictions for Sat eve or Sun. Great location with large retail park just a few minutes' walk for shopping and just about every fast food brand.

Lock on the door to my room was a bit dodgy. Had to fiddle with it for a minute or two before I could get in.

Well worth the money. Can’t help but praise the area and the people we’ve met.

Very clean, friendly staff, very comfortable and we felt at ease. My family and I felt more safer there than where we leave to be honest. Never heard anyone shouts or swearing. People were all well-mannered.

Just that the hotel is quite old but because of what I’ve mentioned above, it coated this negative feedback.
