They took my £100 deposit and didn’t pay me back. I had the worst experience/

It's was relatively cheap and had a good amount of available parking.
The room simply wasn't clean. The room hadn't been vacuumed. I kept finding hair around the room. Their fixtures and fittings in the room were not attached or fixed properly. The security door into my block simply didn't work with the second part of the magnet missing.

Location for what I was in Birmingham for was ideal. But things about the only good positive
Old building that needs a lot of renovation or possible demolition and re modernised build.
The standard of room type that I paid for was no where near what I expected. It was well over under par in comparison to other hotels who charge that amount for a room.

Breakfast was disgusting! Portions were really small. We did not even get a chance to sit down before the kitchen staff was asking us what we wanted. We only had option of full english or continental. Buffet was closed because not enough customers in the hotel (apparently less than 15)! Very disappointed in Breakfast at this hotel.
There was also people walking through the dining area to attend a church service in a separate room next to the dining room (not acceptable) and unprofessional!
The stairs/landing leading to our room was littered and absolutely filthy. There was cobwebs in three corners of our room, a spider in the bath. The carpet looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a while, the remote control for the TV wasn't working, only two flat pillows on the bed. We had to request another two pillows and the lady at reception was not very helpful about that. She said she was tired and had been busy all day, but the place looked deserted!

I liked everything honestly just needed a place to sleep
I am very very disappointed in the staff at this hotel my two friends were treated absolutely disgustingly just because they didn’t know how to speak very well English , a man had come after me and paid on the till however the staff member was being rude and forcing me out then saying I had to book through online and pay £100 deposit charge . He kept saying if my friend says another word he will kick us out , and we came from another city , I was very polite to him however this man was absolutely horrible and I hope he gets fired , his description is he has orange bleached hair on the ends and he looks quite dark toned and he might be Chinese or Vietnamese.

Its proximity to where I needed to get to each day
The everlasting thunderous noise throughout the evening and nights which sounded like a washing machine the size of Big Ben, not sure what it was whether linked to the water system but its continuation was relentless. Ear plugs would help to prevent interrupted sleep.

Looks like a converted estate, room was dates, stank of cigarette, hair in shower, on towels wifi cut off, cups were dirty. Lights were not all working

Easy check I.
2.0 / 10.0
The convenience of staying in the same location as an organised event in the function hall
The weird setup of it being more like a motel/ council estate vibe.
The constant slamming of the front doors all night from the socially housed residents.
The tired decor of the rooms..
Being unable to open the curtains due to people walking past on the communal balcony so the room was dark
This wasnt a 3 star... and I have stayed in a few
It wasnt a restful stay i felt tense all night
Makes sense why the photos do not show the outside of the hotel as I definately would not have booked.
Spend another £20 and stay somewhere else

Although a little dated, the room was clean and comfortable and offered what we needed. It was quiet, and there were no noise issues with being on the main road.
The hotel lacks character and could do with a refresh.

The staff are amazing on reception. Really helpful couldn’t praise them enough. Helped us with a difficult situation thanks again.
The room my brother in law stayed in wasn’t very nice needs updating.

Ground floor. Free wifi. Large screen tv.
Stayed 2 nights in room 110 to celebrate birthday. Health and Sbirthdsy afety issues. Car park 3 feet away and pavement so people could see into the room as there was no net curtain. I complained but they didn't see it as a health and safety issue. There was no chain on the door and it didn't lock from inside. Their explanation is that once the door is closed it can only be opened with a card. Cards aren't always safe. There was no hot water in the shower. No phone. 1 of the bedside lights didn't work. Room was cold. No service during the day. Room not cleaned, bed not made, no replacement tea coffee etc. Bathroom floor dirty. No telephone. Only 1 clothes hanger. I've stayed at Apollo for years and have not had these problems

the shower build.....
The somewhat frosted window in the shower room, didn't appear to be fully closed but was secure. I imagined this enticing any peeping Tom, Dick or Harry. I didn't appreciate the towel rail radiator - which i burnt myself on in spite of the warning sign high above out of eyeline. Does it really need to be wired to come on when the light switch is switched on? I'm not convinced that it should be the case. Furthermore, the shower screen opens outwards which makes stepping into he bath to have a shower difficult. How about installing a grab-rail so that anyone can transfer safely?? The ceiling light in the room outside the shower, by the ironing facility and cupboard mirror was broken upon arrival. The space between the end of the bed and desk didn't allow for any comfortable studying. Alas the wide angled phots on the website were always gonna be deceiving.
One staff member upon checking in advised there was access to a microwave, so i did a mini shop at the Tesco's about 90secs away. Realised there's no mini fridge. The next day was told by a different member of staff there's NO access to a microwave. Which rendered my Tesco shopping items perishable - jings and crivvens!

Late arrival ok
Very tatty room. Wash basin falling off. Cracked tiles. Hole in bedroom wall. Part of previous meal behind bed.

The staff tried to help but the property is in dire need of renovation and maintenance.
My stay were disappointing. Several lights in the room were not working, the carpets had visible stains, and the window would not close properly. The curtains were in very poor condition (see photos). The towels provided had stains — fortunately, I had brought my own. On that day on the second floor, there was no hot water.
Be aware that the hotel requires a £100 damage deposit (cash or card) before check-in. This feels quite ironic, given that many items in the room were already damaged.

Stair and dirty and carpet torn apart. Room was stinky looks like have been open for some time . Desk and chair useless. Chair completely broken down , can’t be used with desk as desk height too low. Furniture looked worsted than a charity shop. Poor lighting . Room carport aged . Mattress okish , clean sheets . Bath room very basic and clean . Water flow very slow . Shower hardly any water coming , for hot water needed wait more than 10mins . If some with long hair , use shampoo then may takes hrs to wash away shampoo. It’s a 1 * hotel , certainly not 3star.
Most of the things except clean sheets and working tea or coffee making facilities.

Convenient location.
Left some property there which, when contacted, the hotel would not return and placed in storage. Despite me offering to pay for any courier fee etc.. I live 100 miles and 2hrs away!
The room was also next to a boiler or plant room (only realised the morning after). The room was insanely hot.
4.0 / 10.0
The location is only a 5 minute drive from the city centre. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was decent but a bit basic (£8.50 per person did seem a bit on the expensive side). The staff all seemed friendly enough but nothing special.
The room was poorly ventilated and had a fusty smell and on what was a very hot day, no fans were available from reception but this was made worse by having the towel rail permanently on with no way to turn it down. The property itself looked more like a set of run down council flats than a hotel.
When closing the curtain it began to fall off the other side of the rail and the bathroom door wouldn't close without a slam. If you are desperate for a place to sleep there's a bed and a bathroom but otherwise I'd look elsewhere.

It’s just a bit tired looking, needs a make over. Rooms are dark.

Cheap and unusually provided a 3 single bed room.
Rooms clean but poorly maintained

Only upside was the price and parking.
Overall experience was poor. Reached the hotel and reception told us they were open 24 hours. When we went to check in early morning no one was at reception. Had to call the given number to get looked after. The iron in the room wasn't working, shower drainage was poor, tap was loose, toilet lock was about to fall off. Worst part, woke up in the morning with difficulty breathing. Not great ventilation.

I don’t think it’s value for the money very run down paid a lot To stay there for the two nights it definitely wasn’t worth it it’s very run down very basic the only good thing was the staff were very polite

The only good thing was the bed and mattress. I have to say I did get some sleep. Car parking, there is a plenty of it. The location is not bad either.
The room rate was not cheap cheap, I paid £79 for a night. It felt like a council apartment, no security, no room phone, no internet. Very depressing place to stay, did not feel like a hotel.

Hotel very jaded. Tinned tomatoes with a cooked breakfast!!!!

The location was convenient, and the receptionist was polite and tried to be helpful by offering an upgrade — but unfortunately, the core issues we experienced outweighed any positives.
The listing falsely stated that pets are not allowed, which was critical due to my eczema. In reality, the hotel is pet-friendly, and the room had traces of pet hair and pollen, triggering a severe flare-up. The hotel changed their Booking.com listing after I complained to hide the misleading advert. The room was also poorly maintained and very noisy. We had to leave the hotel and were refused a refund despite the false advertising and health impact.

Enjoyed cooked breakfast.
I was the only one eating, so didn't feel the need for food to be left out. After 3 days, the bread was getting dry and the milk was on the turn.
3.0 / 10.0
Tardy, breakfast poor, beds uncomfortable, bathroom mould and no plug for bath
1.0 / 10.0
The room smelled musky and the bed looked as though someone had laid on it. There were no other rooms available so we left within an hour of checking in. The hotel refused to acknowledge my complaint and concerns and did not reimburse me for the inconvenience.
Further, they argued that their housekeeping team found there to be no issues!!!
The worst part is, that I’ve been a customer of Booking.com for years- with no issues whatsoever, so it’s sad that they took the Hotel’s biased and inaccurate view, and stated that without picture evidence there was nothing they could do….. how does one even evidence that a room smells??!!
My advice; don’t waste your time!!
