Great location, hotel quality on the incredible University of Birmingham
I turned up to be told that because of the very low occupancy the evening I was staying, that they were not showing the Mexico vs England world cup match. This was fine until I found I was given a room which was the furthest from reception- really didnt get the logic considering they could see my age!

Lovely executive room. One of the bedside lamp was not working, but staff replaced it promptly.
The hotel's website is misleading. Room service doesn't actually begin until 12pm, and there is no "after dark menu" available from 10pm to 7am as advertised. While you can pre-order breakfast the night before using the card provided in the room, if you forget to do so, there's effectively no way to get food between 10pm and 12pm the following day. I raised this with the hotel and pointed out that the website was misleading. They assured me they would update it, but they didn't.
