Ideal location

Location ideal for my needs, friendly staff, pub area really nice and spacious. Room basic but clean. Would stay again. (I didnt eat so cant comment)

The mattress had seen better days and wasn't very comfortable and I could hear the person next door snoring!

Double Charged and Overcharged £60 — No Refund

I was charged twice for the same booking—once by Booking.com and once by the hotel. An additional £60 was charged by the property, and no refund has been provided. I contacted Booking.com regarding this issue but have not received any response.

Not as good as previous stays sadly.

Have stayed here before. Good location and lovely staff.

Room 18 - very uncomfortable mattress. Circular disks with plastic fastenings all over it and no mattress protector or topper so it felt as if springs were poking through. Had a really bad night’s sleep. You really need a mattress topper on the bed. Would be good to have towel rails in the bathroom.

Comfortable, convenient and a good breakfast!

It was very convenient for all my family as we were attending a family funeral. There was plenty of parking and the rooms were very comfortable. Breakfast was great and very good value. The staff were mostly helpful particularly as we arrived in the snow and left in the aftermath of the snow.

As we were on,y there for one night there wasn't really anything to complain about apart from one room the heating hadn't been turned on so it took a while.e to heat up but once it did if was fine.

Great location, lovely staff

Lovely welcome from Sam, even though they were very busy. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and had all the basic facilities we needed including coffee and tea. It was clean and a comfortable temperature. We were given a continental breakfast free of charge as the staff were preparing for a big function. This was absolutely fair enough and we still felt we had had a good breakfast. It was easy to register the car for free parking and there were plenty of spaces. The location is great and there was a good atmosphere in the bar.

The mattress was a bit lumpy and could probably do with replacing, but we still slept well.

Perfect place to stay for a family gathering nearby. Conveniently located with parking immediately adjacent. Basic but comfy and suited us fine.

We had two double rooms. The washbasin plug in one room was jammed shut. This was reported to reception straight away but not fixed when we returned to the hotel 5 hours later, and not even a message to explain or apologise or offer any options. Fortunately, the rooms were adjacent so we all used the one working washbasin, though this is no use for middle of the night. Also, it's good to have happy staff but would be helpful if they could leave work quietly late at night please.

Breakfast chef didnt turn up. No cooked breakfast. No refund.

Paid for Breakfast but Chef didnt turn up. Offered free breakfast if we stayed again. I would have preferred the refund. Then i had to pay for a tonic water in the morning even though there was no cooked breakfast that i had already paid for. Poor customer service. Only breakfast choice was toast or cereal which wasnt really an option.

Will not return!!!

Bed was comfortable and room was clean

Room was freezing!! There was an electric radiator that wasn't switched on so we had to wait hours for the room to heat up. Draught coming through window and under the door. Could not have shower 1st night because water was cold. Asked at reception why we had no hot water and was told because the boiler wasn't big enough and other guests had used it up. So on 2nd day I had to have cold shower!! And again the next morning!! Was not happy!!!

Clean, functional and friendly stop for work travellers

Have stayed at the Bournbrook a few times when travelling for work. It does the job for what I need and is excellent value for the price. The area is pleasant, with lots of excellent restaurants nearby and it is easy to get to the city centre, and the pub itself is really nice and a great spot to watch the football.

The rooms are a little jaded, but always clean and functional. I have stayed here several times and on one occasion the mattress was not great, although I still slept reasonably well.

Good location with parking. Friendly staff and a good breakfast. Not expensive.

Not an expensive place but some basic repairs would have made all the difference and could have resulted in a very positive review. One of our rooms had a seriously broken double bed, unsleepable on one side, so it was lucky there was a single occupant, whilst the other had a toilet seat secured by one a single bolt on the one side leaving it highly unstable.

A cheap stay in a well-located inn which could improve its offering

The service from the staff was helpful which I liked. The heater in the room heated the room very fast which made a cold night much more bearable, there were a lot of charging points near the bed which is important for charging your phone. You can also control the lights from your bed which removes the requirement to get out of your bed.

I was in a room beside a window facing onto a public window which meant I had to have it down in the mornings as people could look in. The bed wasn't that comfortable - I could feel the springs in it as I got onto it which made me feel like I was on a camping bed. We could do with a hairdryer in the room also. The TV was also confusing - took a bit of time to get into the channels which you could watch such as Channel 4 or ITV. The shower also didn't give very hot water - it was lukewarm at best and more shower gel could be provided.

Adequate for the price paid

Helpful staff and good value for money. Plenty of parking space. The room was spotless and simply furnished with the facilities you would expect at that rate.

The hot water supply was tepid in the morning. It was warm enough to shower but only just. I had to boil a kettle to make the water hot enough to shave. I would have raised this with the staff, as I'm sure they would've have helped, but I had to dash for an appointment

Clean room

The car park had plenty of space and was free. Check in was easy. The room was a good size and very clean. It had tea and coffee making facilities. Towels and toiletries good.

The shower was cold on the second day. There wasn't a hair dryer. It was only when I tidied up to leave that I read the info sheet saying you could ask for a hairdryer. Usually, there's one in the room, I don't expect to go down two floors to ask at a reception desk for one. There were 2 hooks behind the bathroom door and no towel radiator so two towels were hung on door knobs to dry. The room was very cold when we arrived late in the evening, but didn't take too long to warm up.

Nothing to fault really - quiet, residential location compared to some other Birmingham hotels I've stayed in. Love the free parking. Staff very helpful and polite. Decent size room, comfortable and clean. Good budget accommodation, would definitely stay again.

Met up with a friend so handy it had car park and good train links

Good location twin room was clean and comfortable

Dinner was average ,garlic bread dry not fresh Starter came out at the same time as mains. My vegi burger was burnt. Talking over dinner was near impossible as the music /disco was incredibly loud don't know why as No one was dancing and bar quiet so we retired to the bedroom early with a drink so we could talk. Only one channel available on the tv and we could not turn to another station with the remote.

The accommodation was budget friendly and the staff were very helpful.

Staff were friendly and efficient. Room was warm, comfortable, clean and functional. Breakfast was served quickly with a fairly decent choice.

Nothing to complain about except that the Wi-Fi code didn't work.

Pleasant stay but uncomfortable sleep

-staff were so lovely, could not fault them. Dealt with a hiccup in the system really well -great price -great location -room basic but for what you pay for -shower hot -tea/coffee facilities provided -parking

-bed was maybe the most uncomfortable I've stayed in, room 30. Very very hard and both me and my husband were in pain after 2 night stay -no bathroom bin, so I moved the room one into the bathroom, this should be as standard for sanitary products
