Staff were very helpful and pleasant.

When we visited it took us 2 hours to get to the hotel due to road works and road closures. Information from the hotel regarding this was very poor and we ended up going round in circles. In the end they sent the night manager to help direct us to the hotel. In that sense the staff were very helpful but a little foresight and up front information and accurate directions could have avoided a frustrating evening.

Breakfast was basic and therefore overpriced. Heating in the rooms not effective, especially in colder months. Additional heating appliances would have helped.

Excellent budget hotel in a beautiful location and great building

The location was amazing and the facilities were basic but clean and couldn't have been better for the price! So much nicer than your usual budget hotel. Right in the centre of the old town so a short walk from nice restaurants and literally around the corner from the incredible cathedral

The directions from the hotel for the car park were not great, It took us about 45 mins to find it and ended up parking somewhere else. Satnav didn't work as it was in the old town and I think car's are residents only. It is possible but clearer insructions would have been great.

Location, location, location. You will not find a better situated hotel in Chartres, period. Very accommodating staff and a comfortable bed in a historic building. It's super clean and very quiet. Highly recommended.

Unusual and pleasant stay in a fantastic location.

The location of Hôtellerie Saint Yves is superb. It's just around the corner from Chartres Cathedral and offers private parking. The room and the building are simply furnished, but of good quality (especially considering the price).

There was no light in the stairwell. This is beyond the venue's control, but it's a very narrow, narrow route to the Hôtellerie Saint Yves.

A taste of Chartres

We have stayed several times before because of location and parking. It is a basic very small room but very clean with a tiny ensuite. It is in a perfect location for the cathedral and the square with lovely restaurants and from where you can view the light & sound show, which is why we keep returning. The building was an old monastery, which makes it rather interesting

The costs have risen substantially so not as good value for money as it has been. The reception staff were not very welcoming or helpful, which is rather disappointing.

Wonderfully sited place to stay near Chartres Cathedral with zero frills though clean & comfortable

The Hotellerie could hardly be closer to Chartres Cathedral which is great. My small room had pretty comfortable bed.

No a-c or fan and wooden shutters meant you couldn't leave window open for air if you also wanted darkness. Narrow bed seemed too "monastic" to me. Bathroom very small. No other facilities in room - even needed to ask for a hairdrier. Not warmest of welcomes - can't check in before 3pm (or leave bags) and main door is closed from 8pm to 7am even though many guests will want to be seeing the light show that starts after dark!

A beautiful and historic building next to the Cathedral . The Breakfast in the cloisters is a lovely experience in itself with good simple breakfast items which were very fresh and a lovely lady working there. The Breakfast room/ cloisters are beautiful and it is a great way to start your day. A tranquil and relaxing place. This was my third visit to this hotel. The building is beautiful, the beds very comfortable, the atmosphere is very peaceful and I hope to return.

No complaints really. Don't expect luxury and "frills" this is a place for simple comforts and a very relaxing place to be. The rooms are small which is fine by me

Great stay in old convent next to Chartres cathedral

Unbelievable location, friendly staff. This was a convent and you know it. Bed super comfortable, window opens, great WiFi. 50m stroll to Chartres cathedral, and the free parking was a huge plus. Outstanding breakfast.

I wish they had a hairdryer and a mini fridge in the room. I left with bad hair and nervous about my expensive medication having gone off. It needs to stay in the fridge most of the time,

Absolutely excellent location.

Access and egress are a bit of a challenge if you are driving but if you follow the instructions the hotel sends you, you’ll manage! Definitely worth the effort.

The location is fantastic at an excellent price.

Getting there was a real pain! You have to search for the ‘Rue du Bourg’ on the sat nav to get to the correct entrance bollard. It would have been great to have been given that information in advance!
