Excellent location, great staff and great value for money.

Excellent location! Right next to the Bologna towers and other major tourist attractions. The shopping street is nearby. The train station and the Flix bus stations are about 20 minute walk. Tons of restaurants within walking distance. Felt very safe as outside the hotel is very busy till late night due to restaurants and bars! Would definitely recommend

The location is perfect, near the towers. The staff is really nice and helpful! There are a lot of restaurants in the area. The hotels have three terraces, one with sunbeds! Great views of the roofs from the roof one!

The location is truly excellent. The hotel feels spacious and airy inside. The staff are very friendly and attentive. I wouldn’t look for any other hotel in Bologna; I would choose this place every time.

A very good vacation and an excellent staff nearly made up for a disappointing hotel.

There are few hotels in the central part of Bologna‘s old city and the San Donato is very well located. The staff was friendly, confident, and very helpful in getting us around the city.

The rooms, while as advertised, are painfully small— perhaps 120 ft.² The shower in our room, with no bath, was scarcely large enough for my very petite wife to turn around in. Our stay was in early April and the room was hot as the air conditioning was not operational. Pricing, while certainly determined by the market, seemed unreasonably high at $300+ per night for very basic accommodations.

Ideal for a stay in Bologna

Great location in the university sector. Hotel is clean, staff were helpful and the room was nice and clean. We had a short stay of 1 night only as we were travelling to Florence and the hotel was ideal for our purposes. We arrived late and there was a nice pasta place open up the street where we got a nice dinner. We had a short walk the next day to the train station.

Beds could have been more comfortable and it would have been nice to get a drink at the bar but it was closed at 11 pm on a Friday night.

Asked for a kettle and 2 cups which should have been supplied and didn’t receive any coffee or teas milk etc 3 out of 4 days but had to pay for1 water out of the fridge but other than that reception were friendly with the rest of the staff

it’s a very good hotel in the heart of Bologna which I booked accidentally because I was physically kicked out from other place I booked on Booking.com and they didn’t do nothing to help me. So I must to find a new place to stay and it was a pleasant surprise that I booked such a wonderful hotel and checked-in immediate. I highly recommend you to stay in the Hotel San Donato, the stuff is very nice and friendly, the room isn’t big but has it all, the AC works perfect, also the balcony is nice but could be better if you put there a table and chairs. the rooftop is wooow, amazing panoramic view!

Great location in the centre and very friendly staff. They will make you feel welcome. Good parking available which was nice.

The room was very, very outdated. It was a 4 star hotel, however the room felt more like a 2 star motel room. Since it was only for 1 night and the friendly staff I guess it was okay.
