The house obviously has a lot of history, and this shows in the decor, artwork, ornaments, and trinkets. It has it's own personality.
There isn't anything I didn't like.

The bed mattress was terrible, hearmting wasnt working, amenities were very basic.

The place is really very antique and special. I like the style and look of it! Antique furniture in the room and common area made it special.
Staff was very friendly and nice, and I liked their way of communication.
Perfect location! 3 min away from the bus station made it very easy to commute.
Great value for Salzburg.
It's really very ver very cluttered. There's plenty of useless and not valuable stuff in the building. Dear owners - please, throw it away finally. Do you really need oll that trash? It takes 1-2 days to throw it away, but it'll make the place much nicer.

Convenient to the old town, restaurants in area were great, staff were very attentive, public transport close by. The quirkiness of the hotel, the morning church bells alarm at 7am were much better than the usual alarm. As a 2 star hotel, it was exactly that, and didn't try to be any more. We'd stay again no problem!

Great location, friendly staff and very comfortable bed. Good breakfast and thank you to the gentleman who cooked us an evening meal especially because we were tired, didn't know where to go to eat and just wanted a meal in the hotel. Quirky interior. Very quiet and calm area
We had trouble getting served at the bar. Every time we went to the bar area for a drink or coffee there was no one there to serve. The fire door by our room (7) was locked on our last morning and had to exit using different stairs by reception. This is a bit dangerous.
The outside/garden area of the hotel was very untidy so the view from our room was not great or the front of the hotel.

It was an interesting place, very unique, great location and friendly staff. It was overall clean
We were concerned about some reviews regarding bed bugs and dirt, it's not the cleanest, but my kid ran without socks everywhere and his feet were spotless, so maybe it just looks dirty because of the old style and amount of furniture? Idk, we didnt have any problems

Amazing place, it has a real Salzburg feel to it. The staff are very helpful with your needs. The manager is always available to assist with any information to make your stay more enjoyable. The restaurant on site is very good food. The markets & tunnel are 5 minutes away. It is within walking distance of all the sites.

Breakfast I would advise to have it is very good and great value. The people were great it is a very unique place with great history. Rooms we used were very large private baths and clean. We had free bus and close to stop just hopped on and off in historic Saltzburg. I would stay again it is a great value and everything else is expensive so I saved a lot of money by staying.
The door locks are hard to use takes time.

There is a fabulous Greek restaurant a few doors down.
Upon arrival, the staff ignored us. WE're all in our 70's and no one was around to help with luggage up several steep sets of stairs. Food looked sketchy. One of the rooms was infested with spiders and my sister was bitten 8 times. Others were as well. Parking is almost impossible.

The room was mouldy and dusty like it has not been cleaned for years. I developed a dust allergy sleeping in that room. For a room that costed 97 Euros for 2 nights I did not like it at all.

The room was in poor condition; it was dirty and uncomfortable
The hotel was in very poor condition. Everything was dirty, poorly maintained, and not well located. There was an unpleasant smell, and the overall environment was extremely uncomfortable.

The location was superb and I was able to travel multiple times a day back and forth from the altstadt to the Unterkunft. The staff was really nice and helpful when I had trouble with locking my door.
The place is a bit old but gives a rustic feel. Also great for pilgern!

Easy walk to bus stop. Quiet location. Bathroom had been remodeled with lots of hot water.
The property and grounds are in dire need of clean up. No pride in ownership. Never saw the management. Beds need to be replaced.

The staff is a family and this is their family home for generations. They're very friendly and accommodating. They want you to be happy and are very generous!
There is no AC and it can be quite hot in summer. It's also adorned in lots of very religious artifacts. Given the age of the building and the heavy religious presence, it can feel a little creepy. I was less intimidated than others in my party.
1.0 / 10.0
It was unclean, there were a lot of religious objects in the room which were creepy. Like crucified Jesus paintings on the closet or Jesus cards on the table.
It was very unclean, the receptionist guy came up to us reeking of onions and garlic as he was just eating before he came to us. His hands were dirty. Rooms were unclean too, cobwebs, dust and bugs .
Beds were terrible, we just dropped into them, soft like bread but not in a good way. Terrible for our backs, got almost no sleep at all.

Location was good and close to old town.
The room was like an attic and quite warm. Wood is creaky makes noise.

This local hotel oozed local charm and felt like a step back in history. We especially enjoyed the conversations with a few staff, as well as being a fly on the wall for their Friday night locals event.
The outdoor courtyard was a bit of a mess when we arrived, and for a moment we were unsure if we had the right place.

Funky but interesting atmosphere. Convenient and easy access to Salzburg through the tunnel
Parking, but staff did help monitor our car timer. Grateful for that. We were in room 1, just below talking and smoking.

Not very clean, difficult to find staff when needed. Poor quality breakfast

Own room is a big plus. Accommodation is located in very peaceful area. Staff seemed very friendly and really enjoyed what they are doing and are ready to help you.
Both common areas and my seemed to be little dirty. Probably a while since last time vacuum cleaner etc. was used. Claims to have soundproof rooms, but when I had problems with lock on my door, person from room next to me yelled that people are trying to sleep and I should stop whatever I'm doing. And I can say, the voice wasn't that loud.

Comfy bed.

Its decently unique and with a potential to a good experience. The host was responsive on WhatsApp. The location is a short walk from the old town and there are many buses that you can take instead so location was great. Also there was free parking on the street
The sheets didnt feel clean some dirt on them. In addition dead flys on the side of the bed and living ants in the toilet. The shower’s water did not go down and drain was full of hairs.

Very beautiful old house with old furniture and decorations etc. (we personally really liked and it is a very unique experience but different from a regular hotel so be aware)
Friendly helpful staff (family run and good vibes).
Good location, bus station to get to the city centre is a 3 minute walk. Bus ride to city is about 15 minutes.
We were in the appartment and some of the cutlery wasn't very clean so we had to wash it before using it and we couldn't get the dish washer to work. Won't be a problem if you stay in a hotel room.
7.0 / 10.0
It was fairly close to the centre of Salzburg and restaurants within walking distance.
Our fridge didn't work and the bed is very uncomfortable (unless you like sinking in your sleep). Furthermore, staff are very absent and our room wasn't set up properly but it was difficult to locate staff. There is also a weird check-in process and no face-to-face connection. Location is annoying to reach by foot as you need to go up a lot of stairs.

The location and the history of the hotel were highlights. We could walk everywhere. And the location is so quiet. Beds were comfortable. And the kettle in the room was a bonus!
Heater in the bathroom didn’t work.

A very pleasant traditional guest house, with friendly staff and quirky lay-out and facilities that I found charming. Those who like plastic, uniformity and all mod cons might disagree! The breakfast was decent and good value, as was the whole stay.
It took a while to check in because I do not have an i-phone and don't do QR Codes, thus requiring the staff to work out how to produce an old-fashioned paper form!

Nothing.
Feeling and uncleanliness. Let me explain.
We arrived at 7:30p.m. From the street you get a feeling any halfway decent folk tries to ignore. Once inside, instead of staff we were greeted by a dingy smell and decor that was not the least bit charming contrary to what the owners want you to believe. There’s quaint and then there’s creepy. The whole ‘some people’s cup of tea, but not other people’s cup of tea’ disclaimer reiterated throughout the booking page reads like a confident personal statement that appeals to tradition and self-awareness, but I assure you it is nothing but a defensive maneuver against an inevitably lackluster first impression. At the front desks sits not a human being but a telephone to which you are instructed via a propped up piece of paper cased in plastic to press 9. If you make it that far, you’ll hear a phone ring down the stairs eerily close by. It’s a real the-call’s-coming-from-inside-the-house type moment except with a refreshingly horrific twist: that being the reversal of caller and callee. You can’t help but to imagine what hideous deformity or tragic disability the callee must have that prevents them from showing face. However, once you enter your room you’ll realize it’s sheer laziness. I booked twin beds, but unbeknownst to us the room came without a private bathroom and only one pillow without a pillow case. I guess they figured we would share. There was only one blanket and without a sheet as well. I went back downstairs and dialed 9 again and listened to the ominous ring before explaining my situation to the voice. It advised me to just go into another room and pilfer some blankets and pillows. We followed the voice’s guidance, but the spoils sat as sad and sheetless as our own. At this point we performed a cost benefit analysis on essentially whether to eat a pile of equestrian shit or horse excrement. That is to say, ‘Should I sleep on these dirty sheets with this dirty blanket or that dirty blanket?’.

It felt very homely, we loved the authenticity with the old furniture etc. Great to feel like we were in the traditional culture and not a sterile hotel box! The staff were so helpful and lovely. Simple breakfast with beautiful homemade bread. Walkable into town. Such great value, very relaxed.
Maybe a slightly wider variety for the breakfast?

Fantastic location close to the City Center. Nice old building. Friendly welcome.
Actually a nice place but the potential is this old building and its location is in no way used. The whole house looked quite messy as the owners leaving it within a few days.
