Plenty of free parking, rooms are a good size and my bed was very comfy. Included breakfast was great, wi-fi worked well. Quiet location, all staff were really friendly. Late checkout of 1100hrs was great.
Carpets in most common areas could do with an upgrade. Later-opening bar would be great. Some of my room decor was a bit tired, but my daughter’s was fine. No aircon anywhere was a bit of a challenge (more for the staff I’d say) but the fans provided worked.

I loved the excellent breakfast, especially on the days that there was also table-service, in addition to 'self-serve'. So, on those days I had my own pot of Green tea - just what I wanted.
The Single Room was spacious. The bathroom looked as if it was part of the recent refurbishment upgrade: also excellent.
The bed was extremely comfortable and the pillows were perfect.
My recent hotel experience in Glasgow was very poor for lighting. Great Barr Hotel was the total opposite - the availability of both electric lighting AND natural light were exceptionally good, which is very important to me.
There was a slight security issue one day - OTHERWISE IT WOULD HAVE BEEN 10/10.
