Room spacious for a single and breakfast - I specially requested a diet and they kindly provided what I needed. Bed spacious and warm.

Nice and relaxing stay and the evening is very calming.

Confusing signage - we arrived in the dark with heavy rain and found a large sign advertising the hotel at a building on the main road but this was not the hotel itself- initially we thought it was. We didn’t spot an arrow etc indicating where the actual hotel was a neighbour helpfully directed us.

Shower not working - toilet seat loose - illuminated mirror in bathroom not working couldn't get a drink at the bar, only seemed to be serving those who were attending a private party

The reception area was beautiful

I was met with smoke at the entrance to my room. Whether the one who was there was a smoker or it was coming from a different room. My bed was weak and noisy. Every turn came with soo much noise. Room 111.

the rudest woman i have ever faced in my live on the reception as u know i have brooked normal room she give as like box room an i said this not wat i have booked but she was saying this wat we got if u wana stay r not an she was telling me to come tomorrow to give u room Like that an like kinda making funn an was absolutely rubbish woman an the hotel was the crapest dirty smell an unclean ever seen

Glad I found the Great Barr hotel

After trying terrible self catering places for a long contract in Birmingham , I have gone back to staying in a hotel. I feel much safer and the accommodation is as advertised, no nasty surprises, and things work as they should. The staff are genuinely helpful and great. The room is clean and serviceable and has a large desk to work on. There's a restaurant and bar and the car park is secure and large.

Comfortable and affordable with good facilities, though the worn carpet makes the hotel feel dated

I had a pleasant and affordable stay at Birmingham Great Barr Hotel. The bed was comfortable, the room was quiet, and I appreciated having a proper table to work from and the kettle with complimentary tea and coffee. It was also great that the TV allowed Netflix access, and the new shower heads were a nice upgrade.

The hotel is definitely dated, especially the carpet which looked quite worn, but considering the price, I couldn’t really expect much more. Overall, a good value stay with all the essentials for comfort and convenience.

Xmas market stay

Great location close to park and ride hotel was immaculate and friendly staff . Breakfast was nice buffet style so somethings weren't hot. Plenty of choice for cereals and snacks

We booked the hotel knowing had restaurant so we could eat and drink without having to drive but on the 2 nights we were there they had private functions so kitchen closed. Would have been nice if had been informed prior to our stay. There is a pub and an Indian close by but had to walk there in the rain.

The location

My son had to move rooms because he had ladybugs in the room. In my room there were sweets that had been washed into the bed sheets. I told the staff member and she didn't care

It is very basic but value for money.

The room was basic, but the single bed was comfy. The staff at breakfast were polite and obliging. My omelette was made to perfection. The choice of breakfast was good. There is plenty of free car parking space, which is a bonus for a city hotel.

The hotel is not easy to find as there is a building on the main road that looked like it was the hotel until you got close and realised it was derelict. The hotel was down the side street on the left-hand side. It's not easy to spot in the dark. The receptionist when I arrived struggled to find my booking despite the fact that I had telephoned earlier to say I would be arriving late. Her manner was quite abrupt and not welcoming. My room was up several steps and along a long corridor, and as I suffered with my lower back, it was awkward, manoeuvring my hand luggage, as there were no lifts. I was not asked if I required help.
