Mercure Birmingham West Hotel

We find the location great for us, as we stay at least twice a month. The staff are always lovely.

As frequent guests who stay at this Mercure at least twice a month, we are usually very happy with our experience. Unfortunately, our most recent stay was a significant letdown, especially considering we paid an extra £50 above the usual rate. Despite our loyalty, the room we were assigned did not meet the standard we have come to expect: • Room Layout: The room was cramped, lacking the table and chairs we normally have. Most concerningly, the bathroom was extremely small, which was a major issue as we specifically requested a room suited for accessibility needs. • Cleanliness & Maintenance: We found stains on the bath towels and old water left in the kettle. Additionally, the iron provided in the room failed to get hot, making it useless. • Noise Disturbance: We were kept awake by neighbors who were incredibly loud from 4:00 AM until 8:15 AM. It sounded like a party was happening, and there seemed to be no intervention to maintain a quiet environment. The most frustrating part is that we know this hotel has lovely, convenient rooms because we stay in them regularly. To pay a premium price for a room that lacked the basic comforts and accessibility requirements of the standard rooms was very disappointing. We love this hotel and want to keep coming back, but this experience fell far short of the Mercure brand and the service we usually receive.

I wanted to watch a church service on YouTube and I was told that the TV is not a smart TV and that to me it don't read the bed room two single bed which I booked up a double bed at the back what uncomfortable my sleep was very poor and when we leave there was no talent paper no sphere nothing at all we have to use the bath room the real time it in the canteen

I didn't like the fact that I could know what YouTube the bedroom the bed was a very nice couldn't get no sleep and noticed paper

the hot water was inconsistent. That made me uncomfortable I had to stop showering in order not to aggravate Sickle Cell Crisis

My experience at this hotel was mostly negative. The only positive points were the gym, which I liked, and the bed, which was comfortable. Unfortunately, these were not enough to compensate for the overall poor experience.

My experience at this hotel was mostly negative. The hotel had a bad smell, especially in the bar and restaurant areas. The interior is in very poor condition and many things do not work most of the time. Soundproofing is extremely bad, as I could clearly hear people watching TV in the room next to mine. The corridor floor leading to my room was dirty, which gave a very unpleasant first impression. Yesterday, I wanted to have lunch, but the food options I wanted (salmon or chicken wings) were not available. The only option offered was burgers, which was very disappointing.

Real good value for money, real clean hotel, clean room, comfortable and breakfast was good, staff was very pleasant and courteous. Made me feel welcome.

Bed was comfy though

The weather was bad but zero attempt was made to grit or clear any snow/ ice. The food was expensive and OK, expected more for the price The hotel was cold The noise from other rooms and smell of weed wasnt great, party till 4.30am in a room close to us. Location is weird and poor.
