Brilliant, exceeded our expectations, top marks on all counts.
Everything! The castle was amazing, great walks for us and the dog, the staff were lovely, very friendly and helpful. We booked a private military tour and the 2 ladies that showed us around were great, a very informative and jolly tour (I think their names were Ann and Fionna). I booked this 3 night stay as a birthday present for my partner and he was delighted, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would be more than happy to recommend the castle to anyone.

Amazing
It was so comfortable, plenty of room, loved waking up to seeing the sheep grazing. Judith our tour guide was great as was Evalyn the head housekeeper who showed us to our suite.

Luxurious and peaceful
Beautiful and peaceful setting, views over parkland. Circular walk around estate. Spacious, comfortable and luxurious rooms . Historic features like original room shutters. Massive marble floored bathroom with free standing bath and separate power shower, double sinks. Washing machine and clothes airer meant we could wash and dry clothes. Quiet location and wonderfully comfy bed made for a great night's sleep.
There were a couple of minor maintenance items in kitchen (assume because previous guests hadn't reported them.) Need more than 2 mugs please - we had to keep washing them up. But these were very minor points that didn't affect our overall enjoyment.

A perfect retreat to a beautiful venue!
Wonderful tour of the castle with a very knowledgeable and friendly guide. The breakfast pack was wonderful and very good quality. Dog bowls and treats were very welcoming.

Stop over in the Borders on a business trip.
The size of the rooms including the bathroom was exceptional. It was very peaceful. Jacqueline who met us was very nice and relaxed. Bed very comfortable.
