The location was excellent and in a lovely position on the grounds.
The cooker hob was not working. There was no hot water. It was cold inside the cottage on arrival.

Directions appalling. The post code they gave you took you to a different property on a different road . On a cold winters night , I had to knock on peoples door to get directions . Not me being daft . Photo of Google maps location and actual location photo evidence available . Would have been so easy to put right

beautiful cottage with friendly neighbours
hard beds and sofas

We loved the location of the cottage.
Twin room mattresses dipped in the middle, so these need replaced.
Only I hanger in twin room, not enough for a 6 day stay.
The last 2 drawers in main bedroom were musty, so unable to put our clothes in them.
No towel provided for the bathroom.
The outside area could be more inviting and would benefit from the shrub being pruned.

We liked the quiet rural location of this characterful cottage. A footpath around the nearby woodland and fields was great to take our dogs out for a quick walk before breakfast.
Logs, kindling, and matches provided for the log burner were most welcome. It was quite chilly when we first arrived, but soon got warmed up.(We bought a newspaper to light the log burner as there was only enough to light it once.)
The main living room was quite spacious, so there was plenty of room for our two large dogs to stretch out.
We met some lovely people at the adjacent riding school.
The cottage was the perfect base to explore the local area. Both the cottage and many of the local amenities were very dog friendly, which was very important to us as we were travelling with two large dogs.
The post code for the cottage is shared with a farm further along the road, so initially, we struggled to find it. (Perhaps I missed reading some more detailed instructions on how to find the property. ) A nearby resident who kindly redirected us indicated that we may not be the first to get it wrong.
The cottage was adequate for our needs - we enjoyed our stay very much with only a few negatives:
The bathroom was baltic - the heated towel rail was working hard, but it was losing the fight with the chilly February air.
A spin round with a feather duster wouldn't go amiss to get rid of the many cobwebs in the cottage.
The decor could do with a spruce up to make Stable Cottage stunning. This, however, didn't really detract from our enjoyment of the cottage. Overall, we had a lovely relaxing stay and have left with fond memories of our stay here.

Lovely cottage, everything you need for peaceful family break
one bed not comfortable

Liked the building, layout and the surroundings
Poor communication - we spend hours trying to find it after a long day travelling, and only actually reached the destination because concerned locals approached us. The location sent on the listing pointed us to a nearby farm with the same name which was so confusing. The YouTube video was utterly unhelpful and vague, especially when arriving after sundown. The amount of information sent prior to arrival was a little overwhelming, and hard to digest the relevant details we needed quickly.

Fantastic location. Brilliant walks, gorgeous countryside, beautiful cottage.
Bed not very comfortable. Two singles bolted together with a ridge down the centre.

The property is set in a lovely estate surrounded by countryside, so it’s idyllic yet within short distances to most places of interest. The decor is nice and the beds we’ve cosy and comfortable. It was lovely having a fire and a big bath.
Maybe some logs for the fire-we could only find kindling.

Easy access, very private location but close to North Berwick and selection of golf courses. Cottage well appointed and has a feeling of space with plenty of storage and a great log fire. Kitchen small but everything you might need. Beds very comfortable.
Only one temperamental toilet ie once flushed took a long time to fill before it could be flushed again! Bath plumbed in the wrong way round which meant when standing under the shower the anti slip area was at the opposite end.

Location was ideal and close to great areas to explore. The cottage provided an ideal space and surroundings for a small family. The electronic key was handy and access to the tennis court a welcome bonus.
Some garden furniture and BBQ would provide some outdoor dining options. A non-slip mat in the shower would be be helpful.
