We were very pleased with our stay and it made our visit to Melrose perfect.
Perfect location and the cottage exceeded my expectations.

Great restful break in a lovely little house in a great location.
Great location near to town centre and good restaurants and cafes. Very comfortable and had everything we needed. Central heating worked well. Nice touches like milk in fridge and some basics provided. Plenty of clean towels.
5 o'clock check in and 9.30 check out - would have appreciated earlier check in and later check out especially as we were asked to strip beds and put in plastic bags along with used towels.

small things - lamps that don’t work, not the most comfortable beds (new mattresses needed?). annoying that’s it’s supposed to be bookable with Harmony House but they have different change over days so had to stay in a hotel first night if the family break

The location is wonderful and we enjoyed our time once again at the cottage 🎶
The sitting room very dark and gloomy because the garden hedges and plants haven’t been attended and are VERY overgrown and block the light. Also, the seating is uncomfortable- a small sofa and uncomfortable arm chairs which don’t compliment one another and add to the gloomy atmosphere. The very early departure created an unwarranted pressure given our time cleaning before we left and recall that we couldn’t get in until 5!!! The very difficult garden gate could be fixed easily: e,g. with a washer on the bottom hinge to raise it and the steps to the garden are blocked by an overgrown hedge. This in turn raises a Health and Safety issue to guests and others who are forced off the pavement....

It does what it says on the tin
To be honest everything. Just 2 minutes walk from the centre of Melrose, 5 minutes walk to the river Tweed. To say the cottage has character would be a gross understatement, the name says it all. If it came up for sale I would buy it in a heartbeat. If you are looking for a romantic break to rekindle or start a relationship this is the place.
The only thing I can think of that the teapot lid was missing! Oh there was no small frying pan.

relaxing holiday in great location!
Great location in the town across the road from the Abbey & lovely views form the bedroom windows. sunny patio, good heating system and fully equipped kitchen. All very clean and loved being able to take our dog. Great cafes & restaurants in walking distance.
The bathroom needs upgrading. It is functional and clean but shower bit cramped as it's over bath and sloping ceiling makes it a bit of a negotiation for taller people but wouldn't put us off staying again. no internet, was not an issue for us but may be for some people.
