It was self catering. The facilities were good
It was too far away from where we were visiting but the property was very nice

Fantastic location and Sheila and John made us very welcome. Very quiet and peaceful, and an easy 2 minute drive to Hawick Park

Great location for the wedding we were attending nearby at Branxholm Park. Very beautiful spot with easy access to Hawick. Well equipped and immaculately clean. All bedrooms are a good size - it was ideal for us with two grown-up/older kids. It’s a perfect set up for a couple of families in each of the houses too. Nice outdoor space.
It’s a typical quaint cottage, so any very minor negatives are things that simply come with that kind of old traditional building (e.g. size and location of shower room).

The location was amazing for great views and access to the countryside. The host was very friendly and the facilities are excellent. Would highly recommend.

Facilities, cleanliness, convenience were excellent.
Although it was advertised as suitable for dogs it didn’t have an enclosed garden. Given the wild life around the house (pheasants, deer etc)this would have been preferable.

The location of the cottage is absolutely beautiful. It is not too close to the farmhouse, but close enough for the children to see the tractors at work and experience life at a very idyllic farm. The garden to the cottage was great for kids to run up and down, and had access to parts of the farm where it was possible to go for long walks (though we had a 20 month old with us so didn't venture too far). A burn runs alongside the property, but was fenced off save for gates were it could be accessed and enjoyed. The area was great for bikes and for running, not being too hilly (though you can find hills if you want them) and with easy access to the Central Park in Hawick. The owners are very friendly and attentive, but not intrusive. The accommodation is cosy and suitable for myself, my husband, our three young children, and my father, with a double bedroom downstairs. There was only one bathroom and shower, but we didn't find we were inconvenienced by that. The accommodation has been recently re-decorated and refurbished and felt like a friendly (and warm, once the wood burner was put on) place to stay. Outside the cottage was a table and chairs which for most of the day were in the sun - we were very lucky with the weather during our stay. There is parking space for two cars out the front of the house, and also parking further down the lane, which was useful as the other cottage, next door, also used the parking area. Even though we did have immediate neighbours, the entrances to the cottages faced away from each other so we were not obliged to be in constant communication. However, our neighbours happened to be very nice. You also couldn't hear any noise through the walls, which was good as we have small children and they had dogs.
Ideally we would have liked another bathroom, but it wasn't actually necessary, and could not have been accommodated in the house in any event. The wifi was ok but not great if a few people were doing video calls, as I think both cottages accessed the same wifi and there was a lot of working from home.

Perfect location and some great walks and cycle routes nearby. Sheila and John were very accommodating and friendly. Shaun had a burst tyre and John fixed this for him!! We were staying with our 6 year old twins and they had so much fun as there were lots of fantastic play parks in the area.
