A Pure Delight

We booked a 2-night stay in the Glenburnie apartment at the Castle. From our first contact with Amanda at booking through to our arrival meeting with Kathryn (sp) we truly felt welcomed and cared for. The apartment was so comfortable and definitely, of a 5-Star standard, with an array of eclectic yet appropriate period furniture and accessories. The kitchen was fully equipped, the bathroom was warm and spacious while the master bedroom had a bed to die for! A stay at Thirlestane Castle is a must if you are in the Edinburgh area - it is close to many spectacular sites including Rosslyn Chapel

An enjoyable stay, lovely area and places to visit. Edinburgh only 35/45 minutes by train or road.

impressed a really well furnished and luxurious apartment. everything we needed was there.

lack of lighting outside being winter and dark nights not easy to see entry into property on the road and entry pad for the internal gate I accept it is out of season but could be better if taking guests.

The ideal 5* getaway during these Covid times

This place had the wow factor and then some - incredible house and grounds. The ideal getaway during these Covid times particularly for anyone with a dog or the out doors types, or any one who just wants to be "Laird and Lady" of the castle for a few days. Dog friendly, large rooms, immaculately decorated, very clean. Don't forget to book yourself a tour of the main part of the house - fascinating. Oh and the town - Lauder (easy walking distance from the Castle) has plenty of shopping for self catering - traditional butchers, bakers, greengrocer, deli etc

Being super picky to think of something negative - only thing I could think of was the door handles were very stiff

Unique stay in a stunning location

The apartment was amazing and extremely spacious despite being one bedroomed. The castle grounds were stunning. We ordered a fruit and veg hamper, a breakfast hamper and a ready meal as detailed on the site. All were delicious.
