Luxury stay in a wonderful castle

An amazing apartment in a most beautiful place.

We were met by Tom who was very polite and friendly and showed us around the apartment. It's so beautifully appointed with stunning and comfortable furnishings. The kitchen was very well equipped and the bathroom too.

Very clean and comfortable

Amazing stay! We stayed in the sculleries, the rooms were extremely comfortable, very clean. The castle is set in lovely grounds, a great place to unwind. We couldn't have asked for anything better. The location was ideal for exploring the local area. The Black Bull in Lauder was a great place to eat out.

A little slice of heaven in the Scottish Borders.

Thirlestane Castle is an amazing venue. The views are unparalleled and the walks are second to none. I travelled with my partner and our dog Jasper and the venue was amazingly dog friendly even leaving some doggy biscuits for jasper as treats. The bathroom in the Sculleries was just fantastic - at 6ft 2 I often struggle to fit in a bath but the bath here was deep enough and long enough that I could have a proper relaxing lie in the tub! I've spent a lot of time in lauder and this was my first time back in a few years - it never gets old. This was my first time staying at Thirlestane and I have to say I was blown away!

Nothing - unfortunately we had to leave early as our dog became unwell. However; that was nothing to do with the Castle itself and it did not diminish the experience we had (instead of staying for 4 nights we stayed for 2 nights)

Found it very relaxing

Located in part of the castle. Fitted out to a high standard. Local walks and eating places in nearby town of Lauder.

For us it was perfect and we would go back if we had an opportunity.

Perfect location for a remote getaway.

Good coffee machine. Slightly thicker pillows. Due to corona virus restrictions, there was less staff contact which is understandable however it didn’t allow for fleeting opportunities to talk about the castle and surroundings

Inoubliable

L'environnement était idéal, c'était comme être dans Orgueil et préjugés ! Le parc et les promenades alentours étaient jolies et agréables, d'autant plus que nous étions accompagnés (visuellement) par des moutons et chevaux. C'était un univers très relaxant, entre vie de château et vie de campagne bucolique et douce. L'appartement (the Sculleries) était magnifiquement décoré. Nous n'avons qu'une hâte : revenir.

De ne pas être restés plus longtemps !
