It was situated in the heart of Chester and so close to the train station,the decor was incredibly beautiful and the manager Josie was one of the most wonderful hosts I have ever had the pleasure to meet, nothing was to much trouble,would highly recommend, Christina x

Only thing we found difficult as older guests was the 2nd staircase to our room. If you’re younger and fitter it won’t be a problem

One night stay in Chester

Check in process was easy, the staff were very friendly and took me right to the door of my room and the room itself was well decorated, cosy and clean. Perfect for a night out in Chester!

The decor is fantastic. Loved having a chaise longue in the room. Very comfortable. Slept really well. Will definitely return.

Short stay in Chester

Location is perfect and our room which we've stayed in before, is comfortable and just what we need for as couple of nights away. Staff were lovely as usual and very polite.

Good option in city centre!

Excellent location in city centre, 10 min walk to Chester station and close to main attractions. Kind and welcoming staff - really appreciate they kept my bag on the last day to explore the city. Hallways and room are nicely decorated.

Bed frame was quite wobbly and very flat pillows. Bathroom was missing the bin and could do better with toiletries (body wash was regular hand wash and no shampoo/conditioner). Not recommended for light sleepers, as the windows don’t adequately block street noise.

The location to the center of Chester was great, easy to enter the room without having to go through the pub. Really friendly staff and cosy rooms.

Cute room, low expectations, didn't disappoint

Staff were really helpful, location is great and I like the room decor. It was fine for one night but I wouldn't stay again

We had read the reviews so knew it would be noisy, it really is! Clean enough but just looked like it needed a bit extra, nowhere near immaculate. Double bed was two singles pushed together and really hard

Toasty warm and quiet room. Perfect after a day out in the city centre.

Very easy to find. 10 minutes from train station. Incredibly quiet. Very warm and snug. Triple-glazed windows and thick curtains cut out all of the daylight - room was pitch black at night. A great night's sleep. Wetherspoons next door for 8am breakfast. Proper old-fashioned B&B decorated the way they should be.

An interesting room, that could be improved, but great location.

Location was perfect, and surprisingly quiet due to main road location.

Shower was awful - took forever to get warm, then only came out in a trickle. Room was like an oven, and the window would not open.

The location and vibe of the pub/room especially the staff member that checked us in were great. The room had the interesting feel of a boudoir!

Friendly welcome and great location.

Was a bit dated but the price reflected. We were on the top floor so the shower ran hot then cold then hot so took a while jumping under water and out to rinse hair.

Perfect location for me. Perfect room for one with a clever use of space, felt homely. The decor is sublime.

Very noisy outside but it’s in the high street but wouldn’t recommend for anyone wanting peace and quiet.

Unique decor, good budget choice for Chester city centre

It was eclectic and different. Good to have a separate entrance to the pub. Good budget choice to be in the centre of Chester.

There is some pub noise but it didn’t really bother us. Room a little small. We paid additional £15 per 24 hour car parking. But room rate was favourable so no complaint.

This place makes a point of its quirky decor, which made it more interesting to stay in than a bland hotel room! The location was ideal for the city centre, too.

It took a while to figure out the controls for the shower as the bathroom lighting was "subdued".

Decent enough for a single guy, or for a couple who aren't too fussy

The room was a bit of a time warp, to be honest. It's in an old building, and it looks like the furniture's been there since day one. The mattress was decent, though, I'll give them that. Can't fault the location, everything's on your doorstep.

The parking situation was misleading, though. The listing makes you think they have parking, but they don't. They just send you to a public one where the machine is capped at four hours, so you're forced to download an app to park for any longer, which is a right pain
