Horrendous

Nothing. Rude staff. The hotel is filthy the rooms stink the breakfast is shocking never again.

Great location just 5 mins walk from the centre of town, spacious room, nice pool, ok breakfast

Staff quite nonchalant, when we checked in our keys didn’t work and we rang down and they said they’d send someone up but we ended up coming down as no one came, reception staff didn’t seem that interested. We were initially given a very noisy room over the flyover but they were able to change this for a quiet waterfront room which we were grateful for

We attended an event in the city but this hotel would be very suitable for a City break.

Breakfast - lots of variety. Very friendly front of house staff in breakfast room, Pleasant outlook over the canal. Room - Spacious, minimal but everything you needed. Very comfortable bed. Lounge/bar - Relaxed atmosphere, good sized TV's for viewing sport. Good bar food and drinks. Location - within easy walking distance of train station. Not far to main shopping area once you get your bearings.

Could do with a slightly better layout in breakfast room as quite a long queue for buffet at 9:30am.

We enjoyed staying at The Mill and the restaurant and breakfast service were very good.

The location was in a pretty setting. Reception area was new looking. Reception staff ok. The room (510) was very dated and beginning to look shabby although it was clean. The lighting was too bright and in need of soft lighting such as lamps. The gym was well equipped. The health spa Reception were courteous and as we had to wait half an hour as the pool was at capacity, a lady eventally invited us to wait in relaxation.lounge, which was very kind of her. The changing rooms were very dated but served a purpose. We were very pleased to be able to use this facility.

Location was very good easy access to the city Centre

Ordered two fish and chips on Sunday evening and garlic bread with cheese the main courses came out first and I had to ask for the garlic bread with cheese also only one fish and chips I had to change my order to burger the fish was a chewy rather than flaky other than that okay? Meal.

I loved the swimming pool the jacuzzi, steam room, sauna and the teddy the room was very spacious

There where cobwebs in the room and the floor light was dirty. The shower wasn't high enough to stand under but apart from that it was a nice stay

Location is perfect for city centre, breakfast was lovely. Staff cheerful, polite and helpful.

Chester is lovely but the Mill seems to have lost it’s sparkle.

The breakfast staff were all lovely and helpful however the cooked food was mostly lukewarm and the eggs over cooked .

We were disappointed that the evening meal cruise is no longer available. We had also upgraded our room from previous visits and yes we did have a larger room but it was adjacent to the main road with corresponding traffic noise from 5:30am till after midnight- on balance I would go back to a smaller room on the other side of the river if we stay again. Regarding the bathroom , the shower water temperature fluctuates quite a lot and we both had blasts of cold water as well as hot ! Also a plastic shower curtain is a pet hate !!

Comfy beds, cosy atmosphere.

I like to room and the beds. The beds are very comfortable and the hotel has a nice relaxing atmosphere. The breakfast is nice and the staff are friendly and welcoming.

The pool area felt a little bit unclean. The steam room was not switched on and smelt a bit when we walked into the door.
