Trip to the past

It’s a lovely older home that will take you back in time. The view of Loch Tay is wonderful. The owners were lovely and you are truly renting a home. Bring food, drinks and whatever you will need to consume or wash with. But they have the rest.

It’s more suitable for a very large party and people who intend to stay at the location. The road is very very long and loads of potholes, so it was rough coming and going each time. Also, heat and hot water is timed so be sure to work out times you will need it ahead of time. They are accommodating, but you need to let them know.

This is an amazing old building, with spacious rooms looking over a courtyard setting and with views out across the Loch towards snow capped mountains. Idyllic. The interior isn’t modern, but well appointed. Everything is clean and works, making it excellent for self catering. Norma is the perfect host, full of local information and ready to help out with anything you might need. She was able to recommend a good local 8 seater taxi for our Saturday evening which really helped us out. It’s a 20 minute walk into Killin and the road is single track, but not busy. There is plenty of wildlife to see from the road including deer and red squirrels. Look out for the giant Sequoia planted by Queen Victoria over 150 years ago! The location is perfect for outdoor activities with lots of walks and hills nearby as well as water based activities. Excellent value for money and I would thoroughly recommend a visit.
