Very convenient for thr motorways as I was using it as a halfway stop. Lots of food establishments close by.Rooms basic but clean and a comfy bed. Ample parking. Dog friendly

Last minute booking

It was a last minute book, it was very comfy and had all I needed. It was about 16 minutes away from the Kelpies so I went when evening came. Plenty parking.

The location was ideal for our itinerary. We were close to supermarkets, electric chargers, restaurants and access roads/highway to reach other parts of Scotland. The Barn Lodge offered comfortable and well equipped rooms (even included a mini fridge which was very convenient).

The window blinds could be a bit bigger to completely block light.

Easy instructions, seems to tell everyone she is away for the night.... Nice size room for three adults, clean and tidy. Nice location close to both Edinburgh and Glasgow, 30 mins each way.

A good one night stop!

They were VERY accommodating, having the room ready for as early. Very helpful in suggesting a place to eat. It was very clean.

The bed was very uncomfortable especially since it was so hot out and there was no AC. Fortunately we were tired from being up 25 hours.

Spacious, clean, comfortable and well equipped in a very convenient location. Close to major trunk routes but set back in a quiet area with no noise issues. Excellent value for money and pet friendly.

Only small issue was a very slow to drain bathroom sink. Didn’t block during our stay but may in future if issue not addressed.

The location suites my needs perfectly and the room is adjacent to a rough grazing field which suites my dog very well..

I’d happily stay here again on my next visit to Scotland.

It’s in quite location, has a great view. Most of the castles are very close . 5-10mins drive from the lodge. The room size was adequate for couple with a kid. The room was very clean and the beds were super comfortable. liked all the instructions and quotes written as stickers - they were helpful.

The room was big, but I wish there had been a small dining table or a proper setup for enjoying meals or a coffee with the existed couch. It would have been great to have a dedicated space with a table, chairs, and some basic cutlery and crockery for making and enjoying tea or coffee.

A very comfortable spacious room.

A spacious room with a comfortable bed and bathroom area. The check in was easy with the key left for us. There was a good pub close by and 10 mins drive into the centre of Sterling.

Not having a microwave or cooking facilities meant we had to eat out but otherwise perfect. Thank you!

The property was a little difficult to find. It is on the opposite side of the road to the Premier Inn. The room was clean and well equiped and the owner was helpful.

Maybe not as cheap as a faceless hotel room over the road but really worth paying that little bit mo

These lodges are well designed and maintained and have lovely gas central heating which you're allowed to control. I am an electrician by trade and so I appreciate that these lodges are not just a modern minium sized orange box with no soul. The down stairs studio I had would be perfect for the less able and the car park is only a few steps away..You are only a short distance from the town centre but still in a country setting and so the best of both worlds. I enjoyed starting my day off my talking to the beautiful horse in the next field but oh course making no attempts to feed her/him. Her /him did make it hard on the later afternoons as I watched them rolling on their back and having a good rub on the grass. I will definitely aim to stay there again so book early or be disappointed.

Highly recommend for comfort, location, and service

The room was very clean, warm, and comfortable. Excellent tea selection. The breakfast was outstanding and so fast! The chef is wonderful and the owner is incredibly gracious and kind. Would definitely recommend a longer stay, I stayed only two days.

Worst place I have ever stayed in my life

Location

The uncomfortable bed that rattles as soon as you move a muscle, the thick spider webs in living room and bathroom, the thick dust in bathroom the large hole in bathroom door the paint and bits of paper coming away from ceiling, the stains on bathroom wall the holes in bathroom walls, didn’t use shower due to how horrible the bathroom was it felt and looked so unclean and unhygienic. There was paint splatters all over the wood work and door in bathroom. Door handle was little bit loose on front door the window only had a blind and anyone could see on as would he better with screen and curtains for privacy. If it wasn’t for the fact that I had a funeral and could not afford to lose out on £65 I would have left and gone elsewhere.

We have used Barn Lodge before, it is a little dated but very clean and perfect for getting a good night's plenty of room in the accom. There are plenty of places locally to get food so no problem. Will definitely stay again at that price.

Great value, beds could be more comfortable

Great value for a family of 4, kitchen very well kitted out.

I would stay again IF the beds were more comfortable - the double was small and springs could be felt and the singles very narrow for adults but would be fine for kids. This is my only complaint.
