We didn’t. We were lucky to find accommodation locally in a brilliant hotel called Star.

Very nicely furnished.

As you would have noticed, we did not stay there. Bed rooms are on 1st and 2nd floor with only one bathroom on the first floor and one on the ground. The first floor one doesn’t have walk in shower. Except the ones who would sleep on 1st floor, others will have to climb up and down to access bathroom. PLEASE CLEARLY ADVERTISE THESE SHORTCOMINGS and clearly say that the house is NOT SUITABLE for people over 60 years or with limited mobility.

Lovely home

The house had an amazing communal space which was well equipped for our group of 9. The decor, although tired in places, was well thought out and certainly gave the house the wow factor.

A number of the blinds were broken so we could not raise them, this left two of the rooms really dark. The main bedroom at the front also had a really unstable bed, it probably could just do with being tightened. I am quite handy and was able to temporarily fix one of the mechanisms on the blinds to enable the room to be used by my daughters (it would not lower when we arrived). The bed with the pallets below and no headboard was horrendous to sleep on, as there was no headboard the pillows and mattress continually slid off in the night. There were a number of lightbulbs out in the kitchen / social space so it felt a bit dark over the island when preparing meals. We also had paid for an early check in / late check out which was agreed well in advance however, I was asked the day before arrival if we could check out at 10am not 12 as arranged due to a staffing issue. Circumstances of the issue meant I did not feel I was able to refuse, although not a major issue, some of our party had planned return train journeys based on this and were not able to change times of return, this meant a lengthy wait for return train home.

The rooms were clean, spacious, and well-maintained, which was important since we were traveling together. The location was convenient, with easy access to shops and restaurants. We’d definitely recommend this hotel for group travelers and would stay here again!

Fantastic stay with family and friends in this gorgeous Victorian home in peaceful Kinguisse. ❤️

The house is absolutely gorgeous, with all the beautiful features you would expect of a Victorian Town House. In a beautiful location, peaceful, with great wee cafe's, shops to explore and a fab little co-op two seconds away. We loved the Cheese Neuk. There are also pubs and restaurants all within walking distance. A lot of thought and effort has been put into making this home luxurious and welcoming. We certainly enjoyed the space and felt very welcome. We all slept really well and we appreciated the additional heaters provided, as our visit was in the colder months. As we have a large family, we are always looking for beautiful big spaces to enjoy family time together, go for walks, cook, eat, drink, listen to music, watch films and play games. We were able to do all these things. We were a party of eight adults, but you most definitely could host ten people comfortably. The objects and art throughout the house are interesting and quirky. We loved the heavy drapes and giant pillows everywhere too. Plenty of throws and extra blankets for getting cosy. Finally, the kitchen is wonderful. There was heaps of crockery and cutlery with a fantastic coffee machine, dishwasher, range oven, huge fridge freezer, microwave, kettle and laundry facilities. We stayed for a weekend but you definitely have all the home comforts for a longer stay. We would love to explore House of Danu's others properties and would highly recommend this home for a family or friend group get together. .

We were disappointed by the standard of cleanliness and have let the owners know this incase they are unaware. Some new pans, cooking utensils and baking trays would be a useful addition to the home.

Beautiful house and hosts were extremely helpful and kind, very quick to reply to any queries, would 100% recommend staying here and would definitely book again!

Bathroom facilities aren’t adequate for 9 people. Lounge area isn’t big enough for 9 people. Mattresses on the single beds are extremely soft. Not enough glasses. No outside space.

The house is big and spacious, some of the facilities are really good, like the kitchen.

Not as clean as should be, the location of the showers (one in the last third floor and one in the ground floor), when one of them is too chamber small, isn't good at all. In addition, the stream in the top shower is too weak! The dinning table, with two long benches isn't comfortable.

Lovely and spacious

The spaces are spacious and nicely decorated. The location is great and gives access to loads of hiking sites and trails. The flat was warm throughout our stay

There were only 2 bathrooms - we were only 5 people but if the max of 12 people would stay this would probably become an issue. There were no tea towels, washing up liquid, dish washer tabs, or sponges available which was not communicated in advance. We didn't expect much but since there is a spacious kitchen we did expect some basic cleaning tools to be provided.

Beautiful stay in the Scottish Highlands

Very comfortable and well decorated. Included a speaker and well equipped kitchen. Perfect for a group of friends looking for a relaxing weekend. Would definitely stay again.

Some basics missing - no loo roll/dishwasher tablets/teabags etc, although the owner was very apologetic and said these should have been there. One of the twin beds was apparently quite uncomfortable but all the rest were amazing.

Beautiful property in a lovely location - highly recommend and will revisit soon

The house was amazing and in a great central location. The house was furnished and finished to a very high standard with lots of lovely decorative touches. We visited as a family group of thirteen to celebrate a 30th birthday. Plenty of room for us all to be comfortable, we particularly enjoyed the open plan kitchen/dining room with the long table and benches and window seats. The kitchen was very well equipped with a large fridge freezer. The bedrooms were beautifully decorated and so individual. Highly recommend the property and will definitely return.

My wife said she wished it was our house. Couldn't have given a higher recommendation.

The accommodation was of a very high standard. The kitchen/diner was fitted with high quality furnishings and nothing had been forgotten by the owner. There were ice cubes in the freezer, lots of tea and coffee were provided as well as washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets. The beds were all very comfortable and everyone slept well. We had trouble finding the wifi code but the owner responded very quickly by text letting us know it was on the back of the router on the staircase.

If you’re thinking about booking this, do it! The property is situated on the high street of Kingussie surrounded by stunning views and only a ten minute journey from Aviemore, making the location very handy. The house itself was absolutely exceptional, it was so spacious, very well decorated and had everything we needed in it for the weekend. The owner let us know that it had just been recently renovated and what a fantastic job was done! The house was so stylish, the pictures absolutely don’t do it justice and the beds were extremely comfortable as well. The kitchen and dining area is perfect if you are travelling in a large group as this offers a lot of room. The owner could not have been more helpful as well, he attended to our every need and was in contact with us throughout our stay to help us if we needed anything at all. We were looking for an iron so we decided to text him to ask where this might be kept and he was at the house within 10 minutes to drop one off to us! He made it clear that nothing was too much for him and this made our stay even more enjoyable. I cannot fault this property in any way at all, our weekend was fabulous!
