Great local experience

Loved my stay! Andrea is a lovely host! Excellent communication prior arrival and to my surprise she even arranged the guest mobility card so I could start using as soon as I arrived in Salzburg. The pension can be reached by s3 and bus 4. The neighborhood is very tranquil and safe! My room was spacious comfortable and clean! There is a fridge and kettles on the hallway for guest use. Breakfast was plenty and very delicious! Highly recommended this place for your stay in Salzburg!

This was a wonderful place to stay, don’t miss it.

The property was spacious and beautiful. The family running it were professional and very friendly. We were given helpful advice about a local place to have supper within walking distance which served classic Austrian dishes. Directions for buses and trains were easy to follow, which made getting into Salzburg a pleasure. Breakfast at the property was exceptional, offering a wide choice tasty foods including home made produce.

Wonderful B&B, definately recommend!

The breakfast was incredible, great variety to choose, fresh, tasty bread and excellent jam. The room was superbly quiet and well equipped. Also exeptional was the friendliness of the hosts!

Visiting a beautiful city while staying in a comfortable chalet, enjoying nature and fresh air

At first I was hesitant about choosing that place which looked very pleasant but a little far from the city. But, to my surprise, at my arrival, the host immediately subscribed for me an abonnement to Salzburg public transport system for the length of my stay (without any supplement to pay)! This was so practical! The frequency of buses to and from the city center is every 12/15 min., which is quite convenient. - As for the pension itself, the chalet style is so nice! The room was very large, looking at the garden and quiet. The toilet and shower were large as well and working perfectly. Breakfast offers a good choice, taking into account that this is a small structure.

A quaint, quiet B&B with easy access to Salzburg

The room was good sized, and the B&B feel of the place was pleasant. It is a little outside the city center, so quieter in the evenings, and there was even a community festival the weekend we were there, which was a fun bonus that you would not get in heart of the city. Breakfast was included and it was good as well.

It is a solid 10 minute walk from public transport, but it is manageable. Also, we have several spiders lurking in the corners of our room, which was easily remedied, but not our favorite.

Pleasant Stay: excellent location and family-like atmosphere

I had a very pleasant stay at this Pension. The location is excellent — close to the highway and the city center, and easily reachable by public transport. The area feels safe and well-connected. What really stood out was the warm, family-like atmosphere; the staff were welcoming and genuinely attentive, which added a lovely personal touch to the experience. The room was recently renovated and very comfortable, and I especially appreciated the fridge/freezer available for guests on the floor — a thoughtful and practical detail. The room did not have air conditioning, but personally, I didn’t find it to be a problem.

Wonderful stay at this B and B. Highly recommmend.

The room was perfect, great view, comfortable and clean. The hosts were friendly and the breakfast served in a cute breakfast room was delicious. Easy to get around via bus or a short walk to the train. Delicious meals at two local restaurants as well.

Comfort and homeliness

The beds were so comfy and had a lovely nights sleep both nights. It was nice to have a sunny balcony.Breakfast was lovely which we took outside. I was a great fan of the homemade Bircher and fresh coffee.

Loved it. So special - loved it as much as I loved travelling through Austria.

Loved, loved, loved this place. From the welcome that Andrea the host provided right through to the farewell was warm, helpful and friendly. The breakfast was beautiful and tasty - all homemade condiments. The rooms were so lovely and access to the balcony was nice. The village is cute and it was easy to get too and from Salzburg city. Highly recommend this beautiful accommodation.

Charming, authentic B&B with easy Salzburg access, warm hospitality, and exceptional breakfast.

This family-run B&B was a highlight of our trip—beautiful, cosy, and authentic. Immaculately clean with great facilities, a spacious room and stunning mountain views from our balcony. It’s a short walk to a shopping centre and a quiet village with a fresh milk dispenser next door (so good!!). Had dinner at one of the recommended restaurants just a 5 minute walk away - huge portions & authentic food. Feels like the countryside, with a lovely park nearby and easy bus access to Salzburg. We used public transport the entire time with no issues. The staff were warm, genuine, and spoke excellent English. Breakfast was outstanding—generous, homemade, and far better than most places we stayed. Felt safe and homely—wish we’d stayed longer! Would definitely recommend! Also: Can purchase Salzburg card from reception & definitely recommend that. We only had 24hrs & were able to see so many amazing things. Recommend the Untersburg cable car & trick fountain castle!

Perfect match for vacation in the city

Very comfy accommodation, nothing’s missing and if it does, Andrea (the owner) will arrange it.

No public transportation to city center during weekend night and early morning hours. Can be fixed by taxi for reasonable price

The breakfast in the morning was delightful and very delicious. We loved our view to the mountains from our balcony - a lovely way to start the morning :) our host was so helpful, friendly and kind - we felt right at home straight away

We absolutely loved everything about the property - decor, location, views, people, service, breakfast, and more!

Unfortunately, we really didn’t sleep well here because the pillows were so incredibly flat and the beds were fairly hard. If we could’ve had better sleep this would’ve been the absolute perfect stay.

Perfect stay Salzburg.

I liked everything about HELMHOF. Location is perfect to see Salzburg, the Austrian Lake District and the areas west and SW of the city. Andrea will make sure you’re taken care of. This property is its own oasis in exurbs, peace and beautiful. Great breakfast, large super clean rooms. I completely recommend this wonderful family establishment 🍺🤓🇺🇸!

The room was very clean and breakfast was great. The atmosphere and staff were warm and welcoming. I was given a map so I knew how to reach the town centre and I was able to buy a Salzburg card.

The WiFi signal was quite weak and it was difficult to connect to it.

Wonderful comfortable and homely stay.

Andrea and family make sure you have a homely and comfortable experience. The rooms are big and could easily accomodate the baby crib. There is a big childrens park next door and lots of farm animals in the neighborhood- so our 2 year old was happy. Also the breakfast was sumptous and our vegetarian needs were well taken care.

The room we had was on the 2nd floor so be mindful about carrying luggage up the stairs. We didnt mind this- bit of exercise!

The Garden Room has a beautiful view and also a barrier-free bathroom. Very nice and quiet location in the outskirts of the city, with an easy access from/to the highway and also a parking lot available.

The perfect place to spend your holidays at a affordable price.

Excellent service, very kind and helpful staff, rooms were very clean, equipped with all the facilities you may need such as bathtub and shower, TV and comfortable beds. Good breakfast with fresh ingredients and a good variation of delicious foods. Hotel is conveniently placed right outside of the city centre, surrounded by a quiet and peaceful area, while having access to public transport into the city from walking distance at a affordable price. I highly recommend this establishment to all travelers that would like to visit the fine City of salzburg.
