A charming hotel & restaurant in an oasis of a location.

What a beautiful oasis of a location! Just 12 minutes’ walk from the train station, or only a couple of minutes by bus #4, which leaves right from the station, drops you off practically at the front door of the hotel, and runs often. The small hotel itself is so charming and gemütlich - you walk down a long path covered by a grapevine arbor to the entrance, where you’re greeted immediately. The gardens on the property are not only beautiful, they are functional! Fresh flowers decorate every table in the dining room and every floor of the hotel, and meals are completed with fresh fruits and vegetables picked right outside the door. Wanda was a wonderful host, and she and her kitchen staff put together some unforgettable meals. I hope you have a chance to try the quail with fresh plums, the handmade pasta, or the freshly churned ice cream. Be sure to ask for a room with a view - it was stunning! We didn’t have a chance to use the pool but other guests really enjoyed. Comfortable beds, spotless rooms, and a warm atmosphere made this place truly unglaublich!! Thank you, Wanda.

we enjoyed our stay and would love to visit it again.

A cute little hotel with warm atmosphere. It felt like I was in my grand mother's house. The owner is always present and takes care of her clients. It has a cute garden with a swimming pool, we were ther in april, it wasnt opened yet. there is a restaurant in the ground floor that serves homemade meals prepared by the owner herself. the room is very basic, just a bed, an old wardrobe, a small table and a chair, but we didnt need more. The bathroom was clean and had towels, hairdryer, soap and shampoo. our room was on the corner, so we had a view to the lake and the swimming pool, and from the other window we had a view to the beautiful alley leading to the garden and restaurant. There is no lift, so you have to carry your luggage, but it is only 2 levels. It is not in the historic center, but a bus stop just in front of the hotel will take you there in around 10 minutes.

It’s a wonderful hidden gem in Lugano! you will feel like Home from the first second!! the owner and staff are the heart of this place. all the cuisine is home made. very spacious and clean rooms in the Garden you can relax by the pool - so there is really no better place to stay than this Villa

Great place only 15 mins walk from main rail station. Lovely garden with loungers and I enjoyed a swim in the pool too. Excellent small restaurant, part of the hotel, if you want an evening meal. Comfortable beds.

As it was very hot during our stay, we would have liked air conditioning in our room. Also perhaps some more choice for breakfast, fresh fruit and yoghurt perhaps.

Everything was absolutely top - comfortable, clean, beautiful rooms, amazing hostess, delicious local food at dinner. Well worth having dinner there, including trying the best homemade ice cream.

Amazing food, fine dining in the family hotel.

The food was amazing. The wine selection is very impressive. We had a excellent Merlot from the region.

Highly recommend this place, especially for the food!

I would definitely come back to Villa Selva. It was clean, comfortable, and the staff was extremely warm and friendly. And the food? Outstanding! My wife has two diet restrictions (no dairy, no gluten) and all we had to do was tell them one time and voila - my wife was served appropriate food for the duration of our stay. She was so happy and so surprised that her diet issues were simply a non-issue to the Villa Selva staff. And the food was incredible: home cooking, home-made jams and spreads for breakfast, incredible three-course dinners (we had the set menu each night) that were really outstanding. We felt like we were staying in someone's home and eating home-cooked meals in a family dining room - and I mean that in a very good way. Parking was easy, family room was nice sized, beds comfortable. It was great! Highly recommended.

In apparenza bello ma poi una grande delusione

la gentilezza dello staff

impossibile utilizzare la piscina e le aree esterne per la presenza incessante di zanzare, i cuscini durissimi e il letto di dimensioni non standard ( ho dormito con i piedi fuori ), pietanze non all'altezza del prezzo pagato ( 241 euro contando anche una bottiglia da 50 euro, l'unica più abbordabile, due antipasti e tre primi che meritavano ancora dai 5 ai sei minuti di cottura) mangiate con posate in argento come ci è stato fatto notare con grande soddisfazione dalla cameriera ...ma francamente chi se ne importa, avrei preferito mangiare bene.

Séjour charmant dans un écrin de verdure

Très jolie surprise en arrivant dans cet hôtel familial, niché dans un coin de verdure. L'ambiance est celle d'une maison de famille, avec des meubles anciens et une superbe piscine située dans un magnifique jardin. La chambre était simple, mais très confortable et d'une propreté irréprochable, avec une jolie vue sur le jardin. La propriétaire est adorable. Nous avons dîné à l'hôtel, le repas était succulent avec des recettes locales et des produits du jardin. Les glaces maison sont incroyables. Pour Lugano, c'est un très bon rapport qualité/prix.

Очень милый частный отель с садом и бассейном. Везде очень чисто, прекрасные виды из окна. Тихий район, при этом довольно близко к центру Лугано. Приятнейшая хозяйка, спокойная, вежливая. Бесплатная парковка, нам всегда было где встать. WiFi работает на всей территории отеля, кроме бассейна. К слову, бассейн хоть и небольшой, но чистый и уютный, рядом лужайка, столики и лежаки, мне понравилось. Завтрак это 4 вида мучных изданий, джемы (в тч домашнего приготовления), масло, сыр/ветчина и горячий и холодный напиток на выбор. Хороший сытный завтрак, правда, на 4 день поднадоел :) но вроде можно и по меню отдельно заказывать еду на завтрак, я про это сразу не спросила. Предоставляют Tichino ticket, помимо бесплатного общественного транспорта это еще и 20% скидка в музеи и фуникулер

Мне не хватало холодильника, чтобы хранить та ми йогурты и фрукты. Но я знала об этом заранее, это указано в описании комнаты.
