Old world charm - great views - close to train station

Location was perfect for our needs as it was very close to the train station and the bus we needed. 5 minute walk downhill to the downtown area was easy. Room and bed were comfortable. Breakfast was good. I'd stay again for sure.

Everything was fine. Steep walk up from downtown (but we could have taken the funicular), but that is what we signed up for in wanting to be next to the train station.

A wonderful experience in the city centre of Lugano

My experience at this hotel was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and supported. Every team member I interacted with was warm, attentive, and committed to ensuring guests have a flawless stay. Their professionalism and kindness set the tone for my visit. The room exceeded my expectations, spotlessly clean and simple, but nicely designed. The location could not be better. Situated close to the main train station and the old town with key attractions and restaurants, and public transportation, it made exploring the area and going to the conference venue really easy. Despite being so central, the hotel itself felt peaceful and quiet, offering the perfect balance between convenience and recovery after a challenging day. Moreover, the breakfast helped start, given the choices, the start well. This hotel delivers a very positive experience in every category. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for comfort, convenience, outstanding service, and value for money. I will definitely be returning on my next visit!

Great location close to the train—closest hotel around! Close to the main part of town, food, shops, funicular, boat excursions. Staff was great, communicated great before arrival. Young Pablo was especially helpful!

Convenient location for train travellers visiting Lugano, great window blinds to cut out the light and reduce noise and a comfortable bed.

The shower water temperature in the shower would occasionally fluctuate to very cold or too hot. A shower thermostat needs to be fitted.

Fantastic stay in a beautiful location

The property was within walking distance of the train station which we were happy with. The hotel was exceptionally clean and had amazing views out to the lake and mountains. Breakfast was lovely. It was a short walk into the town centre. Staff were very helpful and supportive when we requested a (paid) room upgrade.

Fabulous!

Location: up the hill from the lake front, next to train/bus station. Perfect for us as we had a bus trip and could walk from Hotel. Be aware there are steep hills and it is difficult to drag your luggage around. Property: very nice “old world” feel with modern ammenities. The room was spacious and the beds were a bit firm but comfortable. We had a lake view on the 5th floor and when the surround patio doors were closed it was very quiet. Restaurant: fantastic menu and service! We ate at the restaurant 2 out of the 3 nights since it was soooo good. And the service was outstanding! Emilio, Fernando and Alicia were very attentive and fun to speak with. The breakfast buffet was also excellent and it was included so we took full advantage. We had a lovely stay and would definitely come back and would highly recommend this property with its rich history, elegance and service! BTW, we stayed here in the middle of September, 2025 and had great weather as well😎

Sitting on the balcony, you may have a neighbor come out to smoke on their balcony since rooms are non-smoking😬

Excellent hotel

Excellent hotel in a good location near the station and bars and restaurants in Lugano città. Very easy to reach by car and the staff valet parked my car for me. My single room was spacious with an ultra modern en suite and a wonderful view over the city. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Really nice breakfast which I was able to enjoy on their terrace. Would definitely stay here again.

Friendly without frills

Super close to the train station (but up and down a big hill!) They gave free transit cards; wish we were there longer to use them. Lobby was well-appointed and breakfast was highly satisfying. The free chocolates were a nice treat! We had a nice view of the mountain but couldn't see the lake. The staff was great!

Excellent hotel- just as expected

The location is great- just down from the train station. Front desk folks were lovely, room was just as described, clean and welcoming. What I loved about this hotel is that we got exactly what we thought we’d get- a comfortable room, great location and helpful and friendly staff.

Maybe a bathrobe in all of the bathrooms- I asked for one and they were very prompt and gracious to bring one up.

Centrally Located Hotel

The location was great because it is only a few minutes walk to the train station as well as city center. We took the Bernina Express bus from Tirano to Lugano. From the Lugano bus station, cross the street and walk along the sidewalk towards the train station until you see the ramp that leads to the hotel. The hotel sign is hard to see as it is blocked by overgrown trees. The room we stayed at was not spacious enough for us and our luggages but we didn’t mind it since we stayed there only for one night and it’s a very well maintained and clean hotel. Breakfast was just the typical Swiss breakfast including but not limited to assorted bread, cheeses, bacon, scrambled eggs, cut up fruits.

Wonderful Location - will definitely return

Location!! Short walk to the train station and a one minute walk from the vernacular stop that takes you up or down the hill. As you are high up the view is wonderful but still only a short walk to the lively restaurant and shopping area as well as the lakefront. Andreas in reception was wonderful, so welcoming and very helpful.

Hotel is a bit dated and in need of an update but the location more than compensates for this.

Proximity from train station but you must walk on very steep curved road. Taxi wouldn’t take you there because it is very short distance.
