A smaller hotel in Lugano with Really friendly service and an excellent breakfast.

The Lugano Dante is a favorite hotel in which I have stayed about six times. As far as I'm concerned, it is the "only" hotel in Lugano. When I arrived, I was warmly greeted with: "Welcome back, Mr. Bennett!" The desk clerk, Sebastian, said that he remembered me from my last visit which was in 2021. The hotel has a great breakfast, a friendly bar that promotes communication among guests and an excellent housekeeping staff. The location is in an historic square and at the bottom of a tram that connects the rail station at the top of the hill. A "two minute" commute. The Lugano Dante Hotel is really a very fine place to stay.

An excellent and comfortable stay overall with very nice friendly and efficient staff.

Excellent location with the town centre, parks and all public transportation within short walking distance including a 2 minute funicular connection starting practically at the doorstep of the hotel to the railway station which we didn't know about and had a taxi pick us up from the station for the short distance by road. Room was very well equipped with the required facilities and was comfortable. The breakfast spread and quality of food was quite good. The staff all around were friendly and efficient and took the time to tell us about the hotel facilities as well as how to navigate thru the town and reach important transportation points.

We wish the hotel would share about the funicular from the railway station to us in advance so that we wouldn't have to book a ride from the station. Similarly we came to know about the free Ticino voucher only on the 3rd day of our stay and the hotel staff helped in getting it for us. It would have saved us some transportation and sightseeing cost that we incurred on the first 2 days. It is true we were sent an email by the hotel on the Ticino vouchers a couple of days before check in but we were then in the midst of our Milan tour and we seem to have missed it. As a good practice the hotel should share this important information with the guest at the time of check in itself. While the room was comfortable the heating not having started for the season made the room very cold at night with the outside temperature going down to 13C. The problem was solved with the hotel providing extra blankets but we wondered whether the heating facility for the season should not start earlier seeing the low night time temperatures. We felt the hotel's food prices were on the higher side though compensated by large portion sizes. It didn't work for us as we are not heavy eaters and had ordered separate dishes whereas one shareable dish would have been enough. The quality of the food was however good.

The only place to stay in Lugano

There is only one place to stay in Lugano that is the LuganoDante. The staff and entire hotel are exceptional and make your stay feel like home. It was my husband’s birthday which they must have picked up in his passport on check in. On the day they delivered a cake at breakfast with sparkler then when returning to room there was a balloon hand written card and gift this was done without any notification it was his birthday. Their on site restaurant and bar is outstanding. Thank you to everyone there you not only made my husband’s birthday special but also our very first trip to Switzerland. We will be back

One of best hotel I have ever been. Great location, everything is clean and in a great quality, the breakfast is amazing. The staff is very kind and welcoming. We had a great stay.

The hotel provided us missing information of the parking address and it took for us around 40 minutes until we found the correct place(we didn't have local sim so we had to do an expensive phone call to the hotel for helping us).

The scenery was amazing, easy access to the train.

The girl on reception was really friendly Lucy I think was her name, she showed us around and took us to the building where we were staying. The house keeping staff were also very friendly.

Our bedroom was in a separate building away from hotel with lots of steps up, you had to go to main hotel for breakfast, I found it difficult with all the steps and no hand rail for support. It would have been lovely to have stayed in main hotel.

Warm and friendly hotel close to the railway station and the town centre

Very warm and friendly hotel, close to the railway station (just take the funicular down to the town, free with a public transport card, and you are on the hotel’s doorstep). Italian is the main language spoken, but staff all multilingual. Not a lot of space in the room around the bed, but lots of nice touches – a plant to clean the air, a personalized welcome letter on the bed, air conditioning (not usual in hotels we have stayed in) but openable windows as well. Best night's sleep and best breakfast in Switzerland so far! Easy walk everywhere in the town centre and to the lake. Plenty of restaurants nearby but you do need to book popular ones in advance.

Trying to work the shower without flooding the bathroom or scalding myself! Even following the written instructions, I found it really hard to turn the water on and to adjust the temperature.

We like too Luganodante

The location is amazing. A few minutes walk from the train station ( u can use the cable car to get to it). We booked the family room. It was so spacious. I liked the room decoration, which was stylish and very elegant. We loved the floor finishing and the carpet touch. Also, the bed and pillows were so comfortable. The breakfast was fair and provided yummy pastries. 😋

Relaxing stay in Lugano

It’s right in the center of town. You don’t even have to navigate the hilly steps to and from the train station because the funicular stop is only a few steps from the hotel. The hotel is small but cozy. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Good size room for European standards. The room has a fridge and the drinks are replenished each day for free. Breakfast buffet was great. It has ample variety so you don’t get bored with the selection each day. You can’t go wrong with this hotel.

My favourite hotel in Lugano. Clean, cool, comfy, Excellent breakfast. Nice view on the city quare and even over the roofs if you're in the top floor.

The room-scent in ground floor is a bit too much. Bar staff could be a bit more attentive. Waiting for 10 minutes with your glas empty is annoying.

Had a great time and enjoyed our stay. One of or favorite spots of the trip.

Very well located with a lot of the main things to see and do close by. Lots of restaurants nearby too. The room we got was small but since you’re out all day, it served it’s purpose. Bed was super comfortable and the shower is small but AMAZING. The breakfast is very complete. Would highly recommend getting the breakfast included with your stay since food in Lugano is particularly expensive compared to the rest of Europe.
