Awesome, friendly hotel in a very beautiful city

Right in the center of town, close to the train station and not too big. The staff is extraordinarily friendly, helpful and endured my broken attempt at trying to speak Italian with grace. They were very adapt at switching to English at the end of my latin. My room was good, right sized and clean. I was alone, one could sleep with two, but staying for more than 30 minutes with two in the room would quickly feel cramped. The hotel room is good, but should not be your destination in Lugano. Breakfast is good, large room, great selection and again friendly staff. The tourism tax is put to good use as you get a free public transportation pass for the city and if I understand correctly the Ticino region.

I think it's an Italian thing but the room was very hot when I arrived (other venues as well), so I opened the windows. You can hear the funicular very well then, but it didn't bother me. With windows closed you can hear it, but it's a perk that's beneficial more than a nuisance. The pillow was so fluffy I needed both pillows to have some headrest. I like sturdy pillows so your mileage may vary. The bed was comfortable though. The corner room I got had a very small desk, so if you're unfortunate enough to have to work instead of walking through the beautiful town, that can be challenging and going to the entrance area or a cafe may be a better place

Great place with a great location and staff

Great attention to detail and very helpful staff, lovely facilities including sauna, solarium and bar. Right next to the funicula to the train station and the city and lake a few minutes walk away.

We had a great stay. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The hotel is in an excellent location - close to the station, bars, restaurants and shops. There was a good selection of food for breakfast.

Good Hotel at the bottom station of the "Furniculare". Cute reception lady, smooth checking and nice and calm room at the top floor. Breakfast was very good, plenty of choice, incl. fresh orange juice to squeeze :)

Excellent stay with great rooms and Sabrina’s wonderful service

We had a wonderful stay at Aquarillo Hotel in Lugano. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Sabrina, the receptionist, who was exceptionally kind and helpful. She provided us with all the information we needed and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. Our room was spacious, modern, and very well equipped. We required two separate beds, and it was simple to arrange them to our convenience. All of the hotel’s facilities were excellent and well maintained. Since we had to leave early in the morning, Sabrina thoughtfully prepared packed breakfasts for us to take on the way — a gesture we greatly appreciated. The hotel’s location is also excellent: reaching the railway station was easy with the nearby shuttle cabin, and there are many good restaurants within walking distance in the center of Lugano. Overall, Aquarillo Hotel exceeded our expectations, and a special thanks goes to Sabrina for her kindness and professionalism. Highly recommended!

The location is in the center. This is the only positive side of the hotel

The hotel is over rated. 3 star is too much for the facilities. The size of the room is too small and the bed is not comfortable. The AC is like disel engine in the room with too much noise that ll disturb your sleep every one hour will wake you up. The hotel was not designed with AC so they just introduced split unit ac which is very old and noisy. The wash basin is outside the toilet because no enough space for it in the small toilet. The shower area is very very small and restricted. There were mosquitoes in the room that disturbed me for full night. The breakfast is very basic. In summary will never think to return back to this hotel.

Very good breakfast, nice and clean rooms, great location close to the lake, the sauna (1hr for 15 CHF) and the excellent storage room for the bicycles (incl all Equipment you can imagine to fix your bike.

Great location, great staff

The 'Welcome' chocolate block was a pleasant surprise and the staff were extremely accommodating. When my power adaptor didn't fit in the sockets, the front desk were very quick to loan me one.

The only thing that I can think of was that I was catching an early train and had to wait until breakfast was open, so had to rush a quick bowl of cereal and toast. But that's all, it was great 👍

Located just around the corner of the Funicular and close to the train station. The hotel is a bit hidden, but inside it's a gem with friendly staff, functional rooms and great breakfast. I stayed there over Eastern and even found a chocolate bunny in my room. Thanks again for this nice surprise 🙏
