Very nice clean rooms set in a quiet location.

The hotel is right on the motorway and whilst you'd expect the noise of the traffic, you didnt. The bed was super comfy and the staff member was lovely and went out of his way to bring extra milks and sugars. Room was comfortable. Price was excellent!
Room was abit on the small side, very small walkway to the bathroom. Window difficult to open. No breakfast options for the next day.

The hotel was really convenient as its right by the main road into Exeter.
You call on arrival to be let in as there's no manned reception but then have a code to come and go. The room was comfortable and clean with a lovely bathroom and tea/coffee making facilities. Staff are lovely and very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again.
You can hear the road a bit, but being close t made travelling on easy.

Nice and warm and clean.Tea and coffee but sadly no biscuit's
Good lighting fast WiFi easy connection.
No resturaunt due to repairs, no snack machine. Poor service and info from check in staff.
Room ok but bathroom didn’t smell very nice. Tacky floor boards that let otherwise a nice room down.
Room I had faced dual carriageway so very busy, take earplugs if your a light sleeper like me.

Great location, comfortable rooms.
Unfortunately restaurant onsite was shut and there is not much else around. Had the glass table in our room fall of the wall and smash on the ground but staff were helpful in clearing it up quickly and moving us rooms

Nothing
Run down, given the wrong room, no one there on check in. Had to call to get them to come and give us the right room and it was the house keeper that came back to sort it. Battery died on the room door and she had to calm the receptionist on a video call and he said to give just a standard room after paying for a deluxe room with a bath, he didn’t realise I was stood next to her when he said it didn’t matter if I paid extra just put me in a normal room, his name was Siri or that’s what she called him anyway. No management even in the morning when we checked out, the bar and restaurant were empty of stock and closed so had to go into Exeter to get food after a 5 hour journey and being 8 months pregnant. Avoid at all costs, I would have got a refund and slept in my car as it would have been more comfortable. Only decent things was the house keeper as she tried her best to help even though it wasn’t her job and the size of the bath so I could have a soak after a long journey

Unfortunately, my room had a foul smell which eminated from the bathroom which despite using air freshener didn't solve. 🫢😞

The entrance hall looked nice and the bar did too, parking was good.
We were not told that there would be no food or drink at the hotel, the bar/restaurant was closed for renovation. The beds were comfy, but the sheets didnt fit. It was noisy, with the road (although we did see that in the description). There was one cup of coffee each on the first morning, and the staff were non existent.

No restaurant or bar, no breakfast despite implying on booking that food eas available .
Other guests seemed to be partying til 03:30 incredibly noisy on the Friday wished we had stayed elsewhere

Clean
Like a rabbit warren. Rooms difficult to find in a warren of corridors and changing floor levels.
Also they said at reception that the restaurant was closed for refurbishment at the moment. I was told to go one block up to the Exeter Court for dinner and breakfast. The receptionist at the EC told me that the Gissons Restaurant had been closed for the last 5 years. So who was lying? I looked on the Gissons restaurant and there was absolutely no evidence of any work on progress. Notwithstanding that the room was warm clean and comfortable.

Bed was super comfy

Door was not fitted to the frame well so every time light in hallway came on, light beamed into room, decor little bit tired (floor)
Not sound proof

Convenient as it’s close to main roads. Quiet, clean, warm and comfortable. Helpful staff.
The entrance is tucked away at the back.

Gissons has seemingly been under renovation for a while as apparently is nearing completion, this was not mentioned in any advertising when I was on Trivago or Booking.com. There were no facilities open IE bar or restaurant. Only the bedrooms were accessible to guests. I hate to think what guests who arrived wanting a drink and a meal are writing in their reviews!
The reception area decor is now on trend for a contemporary hotel, even with a branded moped!
The room,105, was an odd shape with the bed at one end, a small narrow corridor with the shower room at the other end. But all very comfortable for a single person, presumably a bit cramped for two. Again the decor, bedding is contemporary and very acceptable.

Too noisy. We could hear other guests talking all night

I believe that you never have a second time to make a first impression and I’m sorry to say but this was not a good first impression. We arrived at the hotel and to be fare we were pleased with the fact there was literally a charging station in the car park. I walked into the main reception area which looked to be closed, cold and uninviting however the decor was modern and of high quality. I walked through to the bar restaurant to find it was closed and being refurbished. There were no notes or information stating this when we booked in the app had there have been this information we could have a made more of an informed decision and probably wouldn’t have stayed there. I called out and a man appeared and to be fair he was pleasant but no apology about the bar and restaurant being closed and we were starving. He checked us in and stated we could use the hotel next door for food and drinks. Which really wasn’t next door it was up a steep hill next to the garage. Wish we had have stayed at the hotel next door as it was lovely, welcoming, warm and the food was excellent. Anyhoooo the room back at faulty towers was clean, bright, modern and comfortable. However a lot of noise from other rooms throughout the night and quiet a few men weather they were guests or work men I don’t know but we were relieved to be leaving the next day but hungry as we couldn’t even get a breakfast. The place has a lot of potential and I hope they hurry up and brewing it up to standard and make people feel welcome. Had the bar and restaurant been open it would have changed the experience and made the stay more relaxing and enjoyable. It was just lifeless and creepy.

Just the location
Toilet door broken, heating up max, no windows except a tiny window you can not even see outside
6.0 / 10.0
Very clean room with small sofa and comfy bed.
Its not really a hotel but a place with rooms. The place is a little bleak when you first walk in. I initially thought reception was unmanned then a guy turned up from the bar area. Reception check-in is a low budget affair but friendly enough. Despite what is says outside, there is no bar and no food. The place appears to close at 10pm and you need a code to get in. I also had issues with speaker phone dudes in the corridors throughout the night and into the morning. Outside looks very derelict in and around the car park. Looks like a hotel that is past its glory days.

Not much to like. Hotel bar was closed for business. No kitchen, so no breakfast or evening meal.no staff other than one manager who was not very helpful.
*Website is very deceiving, pictures showing a lovely bar area and pictures of what must be their best room.
* No lamps in the rooms.
* No bar operational.
* No kitchen operational or food options.
* Very noisy so close to the M38
* Basic room, but clean.
5.0 / 10.0
The size of the room and bathroom had good layouts.
The floor in the room had dust and hair which made if difficult to walk barefoot after a shower or during the night when going to the toilet. The towels were rough to the skin and the manager gave no indication that the room was at the very top of the building, and with no lift, ended up being a struggle with our luggage.

Location is very convenient. Room was very clean and staff gave clear information.
The view was sad! The area around Gissons was neglected. I recall when it was THE place to go (70s).
7.0 / 10.0
Rooms were clean and up to date with air conditioning
It’s undergoing a refurbishment and the bar and restaurant were closed. The outside of the hotel was overgrown with plants which detracted from the decent rooms. However a hotel next door for food or the village pub a ten minute walk away.
