Room ok, Restaurant staff were poor

Reception staff were ok on check-in

Restaurant staff at breakfast were very poor. I think one guy grumbled a good morning, but he could just have been clearing his throat, I wasn't sure. 2 female staff didn't bother with any eye contact or greetings. When I was a hotel manager, the ethos was a greeting and a smile was non-negotiable. This lot just couldn't be bothered.

Very average, or a touch below

I didn't feel that the breakfast was worth paying for. The room was basic but clean and modern. The location in relation to the better parts of the city center is not great.

Comfortable and convenient.

The location was ideal- close to the centre. The breakfast was also really good, especially the cooked breakfast. The staff on the desk when we arrived were also really helpful and accommodating. Close to a car park where you can get a reduced rate if you are staying at hotel.

Room was a bit small as was the bathroom. No leisure facilities.

A very nice clean place with a good location.

The room was good. The TV was easy to use. It was nice that there was tea and coffee there - and that as well as sugar there were alternatives. The shower was great. There was a generous amount of towels. The WiFi and 'phone signal were both excellent - I gave a lecture to some people, many of whom were in America, from there and the signal was great. A big relief :) Thank you very much for that! The staff were very friendly. The young woman on the desk on the night I got there was asking about my journey and son on. Very positive - good customer interaction. The bloke on the last day stored my baggage free of charge for the few hours after my stay there and before I needed to get my train. Great staff :)

It would have been nice to've had a vegan milk on offer in the bedroom. The breakfast was OK. They charged me the full amount even though there were only a few minutes before the last bookings... and then they started packing stuff away immediately. I think either don't let people in just before the end or do but charge them less or do and then don't take anymore bookings and don't put any fresh stuff out but at least leave everything that was already there for 15 minutes before packing it all away.

Comfortable,welcoming stay in a pleasant hotel.

Plentiful , varied ,good quality well presented buffet. The staff were attentive and cleared the tables throughout your meal.

I always prefer a teapot but the drinks machine was easy to use so nott a problem.

Amazing hotel unless the idiots stay

I loved everything as usual when i stay here

my stay was made unbearable, im down on buisness and always choose this hotel but this time i was continously woken up by 3 people knocking on my door and running away this was happening from 23:30 and 01:45 i then needed to be yp for 06:30 the last time this happened i caught the 3 people doing this and they looked shaken and were very apoligetic. However i was awake and this made my stay awful. I never did find the tv remote for the room.

Terrible service and wouldn’t stay here again

I asked to combine my bookings to have the same room for two nights and this was confirmed to me by two different staff members. However this was not actioned and I was met on the second evening by other guests being in my room and myself or the staff member on the desk having no idea where my belongings were. Abhorrent service and won’t be staying again. Only gave it a two because the refund I was promised (however this still hasn’t surfaced).

Clean, modern, friendly staff and resonable price

Had a brilliant stay at the Leonardo Hotel in Exeter! The rooms are clean and modern, which is always my top priority. Staff were friendly and helpful, making check-in and check-out a breeze. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of variety. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in Exeter!

Very nice hotel just shame about the hot buffet which I’m sure can be rectified easily.

Great location, friendly and efficient staff, clean and comfortable room.

The breakfast was varied and well presented, however on both mornings the hot buffet was at best lukewarm warm if not cold. I’m not sure why as the food coming from the kitchen was steaming but seemed to loose its heat very quickly. Plates were cool/cold which is one reason and not sure if the hot plates under the food dishes were switched on/working.

The parking was right in front the hotel

The noise, the wall is too thin that we can hear the room next door, and it was a family with a kids. The kids were running around kicking the wall untill 10pm and started to cry at 5am. :((

Not a bad hotel but probably won’t stay again

Great location for exploring the city. Nicely cooked breakfast. Comfy mattresses.

Doors slamming woke me up on more than one occasion - they were so loud it shook my bed! No pillow alternatives (6 very full pillows were provided, all of which which were too bulky for my husband to sleep comfortably). Reception tried to charge me for our stay on arrival and had no record I’d already paid via Booking.com. I was asked to give them a screenshot of my bank acct as proof which isn’t very professional. Reception also told our friend that no food was cooked separately for vegetarians and they didn’t offer veggie sausages (both of which turned out to be untrue) Reception chairs aren’t comfortable if you wanted to relax downstairs with a book. There was no easy chair in our room (105) but the other 2 couples we were with did have them in theirs.

A nice and decent hotel within walking distance to the High Street and just next to parking facilities. We only stayed for one night as it was a stop over, overall comfortable bed and clean bathroom just want we needed.

Great Hotel for The City Centre

Our chosen go to Hotel when we stay in Exeter ........ Handy for the City Centre, and generally the price is good, sometimes its very high in my opinion, and we will stay elsewhere, but this is a great hotel for the City centre

Comfy, clean and convenient!

The rooms are always extremely clean, modern and comfortable. The staff are lovely and welcoming. I like that the window opens a bit. The breakfast is good. The beds are the best. It's very close to the city centre and convenient for parking. Added bonus, we were made guests of the day - receiving some some fun treats and free drinks. What a lovely surprise and really unexpected, it just added to the fun and experience of staying there! If you need to be in Exeter, this is the place to stay for a good night's sleep. And who knows, you might just get to be Guest of the Day!
