Somewhat marred by the experience on our second night

breakfast and location fine

Terrible and disturbing noise during dinner caused by a party of 9 men shouting and laughing. Waitress was asked to tell them to be quiet. She would not. Other diners were angry and one couple left pretty soon. My wife spoke to one of the men as he was leaving. No apologies from him. Receptionist was approached as we were leaving the following morning - he appeared not to care and in fact walked away.

Common areas had dirty carpets and sofas in sitting room were dirty also. So on entering the building my experience was not good

This should not be rated a 4 star hotel and is way overpriced.

Food was good and the accommodation was clean.

Shower was difficult to operate and ran cold for the second person. TV wasn’t working as in a previous review. Stairs were poorly lit and dangerous at bottom. Bunch of keys needed for entry to each area. No lift for heavy cases.

Spacious room, very cosy bed! Breakfast was top notch and the location, well you're right in the town so, win win all the way.. Owners very friendly and easy going! We would definitely go back... thank you!

A really good experience

A really lovely family run hotel. Unique rooms and an exceptional restaurant. We had a fabulous meal. The Sea food really is first class. Very reasonably priced across the board. We hope to be back soon.

Perhaps the soft furnishings could be updated a bit, I know it’s country manor style but it did feel a little dated. The whole “board” for specials at breakfast and dinner just didn’t work; difficult and unnecessary work for staff to try to cart around the board to each table, would be less awkward to just print out an A4 on the specials of the day.

Fantastic evening meal with fresh seafood cooked to perfection, followed by a couple of lovely pints to cap the evening off. Really nice breakfast the next morning before hitting the road. Highly recommend it and will return at some point in the near future.

I liked absolutely everything about Ahern's. I liked it so well I stayed an extra night. The location offers much to do, I might add.

It took me a long while to get on wifi. Even with the help of staff. I must admit I am a poor technician though!

great seafood restaurant and comfortable night away in a pretty seaside town.

we thoroughly enjoyed our short stay at Ahernes. the hotel is run along the lines of gentleman’s ‘gents res’ and was very comfortable. our dinner was the best of our week’s trip- sensational seafood and the staff were to friendly and helpful.
